Opis:
Cognitive nature tourism in Ukraine has a long tradition of development. Today, ecotourism, active forms of tourism, ethnographic trips and trips to historical and cultural destinations are mostly developed. The most popular offers come from national parks and other natural areas with preserved natural, historical and cultural environments. Among the regions with active forms of tourism, the Carpathian mountain region and the Crimea with a well-developed network of hiking and biking trails should be noted. Rafting on the Black Cheremosh, Prut, Southern Bug, Dniester, Desna, Sluch, Teteriv and other rivers is quite popular as well as trips to caves (in Podillia, the Carpathians and the Crimea), which are often combined with visits to other natural attractions. Travel agencies, specialized clubs, national parks and nature reserves, which cooperate to promote their offers on domestic and international tourist market, organize informative trips.

Opis:
In order to scientifically support the process of forming rural tourism clusters in Ukraine it is important to develop both universal and end-use applied models relating to clusters of the type “the village rest” as well as rural tourism type. They are classified as follows: by the aim – as conceptual and applied ones, by structural peculiarities – as structural (institutional), structural-functional and factor (determinant). A multilevel universal model of the rural tourism cluster with basic structural levels: base, partner and accompanying ones is offered for research and practice. This model was approbated for two cluster initiatives in the Carpathian (a cluster of rural tourism “Boykivski Gazdy”) and Nadsiannia (a cluster Goat farm of “Fromages of d’Elise”) regions. Possibilities to use different types of research models in order to introduce cluster initiatives of the rural tourism in Ukraine on the regional and local levels are investigated.

Opis:
The purpose of this article is to compare the perceived destination image of Poland as seen by Russians and Ukrainians. This study contributes to understanding the process of how the image of a destination is shaped, the new contribution being the comparison of the image of Poland as perceived by visitors and non-visitors of two nations, which until 1991 were a part of one state. The study is based on a questionnaire consisting of 16 statements on the perceived destination image of Poland. A 5-point Likert scale was used in the survey. A total of 710 people were examined, including 348 Russians and 362 Ukrainians. The reliability of the survey was assessed using Cronbach's alpha index. The hypotheses verification, using Student's t-test, showed that Russians and Ukrainians perceived Poland as an attractive country in terms of tourism. No major diferences between Russians and Ukrainians were observed in the perception of Poland as a tourist destination. Moreover, no influence of past experience was noted on the shaping of the perceived destination image of Poland. Additionally, some managerial implications of significant relevance to destination marketing are discussed, and future directions for research are outlined.

Opis:
The article describes the methodology and methods of examining the tourist-recreational activity in urban agglomerations, also in the territorial dimension. The authors present maps showing the regional development of the tourist and recreational economy of the Lviv agglomeration taking into account its functional zones. They also provide a justification for selecting existent and prospective tourist-recreational complexes and places of interests (tourist localities) situated within the functional zones of the agglomeration – urban, suburban and peripheral ones. A number of possible tourist activities and services (products) are proposed for functional zones and selected places of interest. The authors argue that tourist-recreational regionalization must be taken into account when implementing administrative-territorial reforms in the Lviv agglomeration. In particular, it is important to create a standard set of spatial units and develop criteria for selecting them that account for the development of urban and suburban tourism in these areas.
