Opis:
The research on incomplete soft sets is an integral part of the research on soft sets and has been initiated recently. However, the existing approach for dealing with incomplete soft sets is only applicable to decision making and has low forecasting accuracy. In order to solve these problems, in this paper we propose a novel data filling approach for incomplete soft sets. The missing data are filled in terms of the association degree between the parameters when a stronger association exists between the parameters or in terms of the distribution of other available objects when no stronger association exists between the parameters. Data filling converts an incomplete soft set into a complete soft set, which makes the soft set applicable not only to decision making but also to other areas. The comparison results elaborated between the two approaches through UCI benchmark datasets illustrate that our approach outperforms the existing one with respect to the forecasting accuracy.

Opis:
New finite element methods are proposed for elliptic interface problems in one and two dimensions. The main motivation is to get not only an accurate solution, but also an accurate first order derivative at the interface (from each side). The key in 1D is to use the idea of Wheeler (1974). For 2D interface problems, the point is to introduce a small tube near the interface and propose the gradient as part of unknowns, which is similar to a mixed finite element method, but only at the interface. Thus the computational cost is just slightly higher than in the standard finite element method. We present a rigorous one dimensional analysis, which shows a second order convergence order for both the solution and the gradient in 1D. For two dimensional problems, we present numerical results and observe second order convergence for the solution, and super-convergence for the gradient at the interface.

Opis:
Objectives The aim of the study has been to investigate the effect of the Standard Reference Material of fine particulate matter (SRM 2786) on cytotoxicity and apoptosis in human lung bronchial epithelial cells (16HBE cells). Whether the lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced inflammation could further accelerate cell apoptosis induced by SRM 2786 stimulation has also been determined. Material and Methods 16HBE cells were exposed to various doses of SRM 2786 with or without LPS. The following parameters: cytotoxicity, apoptotic rate, Bax/Bcl-2 expression, nitric oxide (NO) production, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation were measured. Results The results have shown that SRM 2786 induces cell damage and apoptosis of 16HBE cells as demonstrated by significant decrease in expression of Bcl-2 and increase in expression of Bax. When compared with the control cells, the apoptotic rate of cells treated by 500 μg/ml of SRM 2786 increased from 2.43±0.21% to 43.96±2.95% (p < 0.01). Further, there was an elevated production of NO and ROS post SRM 2786 treatment. The level of NO in cells treated with 500 μg/ml of SRM 2786 was 18.33±1.02 μmol/l whereas that of control cells was 1.58±0.31 μmol/l (p < 0.01). When compared with the control group, the level of intracellular ROS increased by 24% after treatment with 500 μg/ml of SRM 2786 (p < 0.05). In addition, LPS pre-treatment may accelerate cell apoptosis by increasing generation of NO and ROS followed by SRM 2786 stimulation. When compared to cells treated with 125 μg/ml of SRM 2786 alone, the levels of NO and ROS in cells pretreated with LPS increased by 28% and 11.6%, respectively (p < 0.05), and the apoptotic rate increased from 34.62±4.44% to 54.11±3.34% (p < 0.01). Conclusions These findings have suggested that in vitro exposure to SRM 2786 could induce 16HBE cells apoptosis probably by means of the mechanism involving the generation of free radicals, while the degree of apoptosis would be further aggravated under inflammation condition. Opis:
Let G be a 4-connected graph. We call an edge e of G removable if the following sequence of operations results in a 4-connected graph: delete e from G; if there are vertices with degree 3 in G−e, then for each (of the at most two) such vertex x, delete x from G − e and turn the three neighbors of x into a clique by adding any missing edges (avoiding multiple edges). In this paper, we continue the study on the distribution of removable edges in a 4-connected graph G, in particular outside a cycle of G or in a spanning tree or on a Hamilton cycle of G. We give examples to show that our results are in some sense best possible.

Opis:
The successful recovery of the plaintext in the simplified diffractive-imaging-based encryption (S-DIBE) scheme needs to record one intact axial intensity map as the ciphertext. By aid of compressive sensing, we propose here a new image encryption approach, referred to as compressed DIBE (C-DIBE), which allows further compression of the intensity map. The plaintext is sampled before being sent to DIBE. Afterwards, the intensity map recorded by the CCD camera is also processed by such sampling operation to generate the ciphertext. For decryption, we first obtain the sparse plaintext using the proposed phase retrieval algorithm, and then reobtain the primary plaintext from it via compressive sensing. Numerical results show that a proper proportion of the intensity map (e.g. 50%) is enough to totally recover a grayscale image. We achieve multiple-image encryption by space multiplexing without enlarging the size of the ciphertext. The robustness of C-DIBE against brute-force attack evidently outperforms S-DIBE due to the extended key space. Numerical simulation has been presented to confirm the proposal.
