    Opis:
    The skin is the part of the human body most vulnerable to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. The spectrum of the negative effects of UV radiation on the skin ranges from acute erythema to carcinogenesis. Between these extreme conditions, there are other common skin lesions, e.g., photoageing. The aim of this study was to assess the skin for signs of photoageing in a group of 52 men occupationally exposed to natural UV radiation. There were 2 types of examinations: an examination of skin condition (moisture, elasticity, sebum, porosity, smoothness, discolourations and wrinkles) with a device for diagnosing the skin, and a dermatological examination. The results of both examinations revealed a higher percentage of skin characteristics typical for photoageing in outdoor workers compared to the general population.

    Narracja podręczników do nauczania historii jest pochodną obowiązującego przekazu historiograficznego oraz, a może przede wszystkim, polityki historycznej kreowanej przez władze państwowe. Podręczniki do nauczania historii uważa się też za jedne z podstawowych czynników kształtujących w świadomości całych pokoleń, społeczną pamięć o przeszłości. Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie newralgicznych punktów w historii stosunków polsko-niemieckich, które znajdują odzwierciedlenie w podręcznikach do nauczania historii XX i XXI wieku oraz próba ukazania potencjalnego wpływu tego przekazu na postawy starszego (edukowanego do 1989 r.) i młodszego pokolenia Polaków (przez pryzmat badań ankietowych). Obraz polsko-niemieckich relacji zawarty w kompendiach ukazany jest w szerszym kontekście, zarówno bieżącej polityki, jak też historiografii.
    The narrative of history textbooks is a derivative of the historiographical message prevailing and, perhaps above all, the historical policy created by the state authorities. History textbooks are also considered to be among the primary factors that shape, for whole generations, the social memory of the past. The aim of this article is to present the critical points in the history of Polish-German relations, which are reflected in the history textbooks of the 20th and 21st centuries, and to attempt to show the potential impact of this message on the attitudes of the older (educated until 1989) and younger generation of Poles (through the prism of survey research). The picture of Polish-German relations contained in the compendia is shown in a broader context, both of current politics and historiography, which complements the previous coverage. In addition, the latest results of surveys addressing the subject of Polish-German relations are included.

    Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), also referred to as matrixines, provide a group of proteolytic enzymes. They belong to the family of endopeptidases that break down elements of the extracellular matrix, resulting in its continuous remodeling. Their activity is regulated at multiple levels, while tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases play a major role in this process. Metalloproteinases play a significant part in neoplastic processes due to their contribution to local tumor invasion, the formation of distant metastases, as well as to angiogenesis Urinary tract tumors pose a significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenge and their incidence tends to grow every year. The aim of this second part of the review is to describe the urinary system structure and function, and to highlight the contribution of matrix metalloproteinases to the development of urinary bladder tumors
