    The original view of Joseph Życiński, presented in his book The Structure of the Metascientific Revolution (1988), boils down to the observation that almost before our eyes a great revolution took place, not in science, but in the philosophy of science, that is the meta-scientific revolution. His concept of the meta-scientific revolution grew out of his fascination with the revolution that took place in the foundations of mathematics in the first decades of the twentieth century. Whether a change in science deserves to be called a revolution is determined by whether the transformations it underwent also reached the meta-level. The set of presuppositions underlying transformations on the meta-level Życiński calls ideata. One of the aims of this article is to critically reconstruct the meaning of this term. The action of Życiński’s book takes place mainly on meta-level, but the meta-level constantly interacts with what is happening in science itself. The book sometimes makes an impression as if it were a study of the history of science, but history of science in a specific sense – something like a “sampling” of history with numerous examples. Among the creations of human thought, it is difficult to point to an area that changes more dynamically than science itself, but looking at it from a meta-perspective allows us to grasp those of its features that operate on a much broader scale.

    We analyse a manuscript, preserved in the Archives of the Polish Academy of Science and the Polish Academy of Science and Art in Cracow, containing Joachim Metallmann’s notes aimed at composing a project of a textbook or a series of lectures concerning philosophy of nature. He understood philosophy of nature as a sort of ontology and epistemology of nature whose starting point should be provided by the natural sciences.

    One of Fr. Joseph Turek’s scientific interests was history of the 20th century cosmology. These short remarks on the subject we dedicate to his memory. After briefly presenting first historical surveys of the early relativistic cosmology, and mentioning those devoted to Georges Lemaître and Alexander Friedman, we focus on two scientific congresses, one held in Bologna (1988) and another in Valencia (2000), the aim of which was to review historical developments of modern cosmology. In the second half of the 20th century, history of science matured as an academic discipline and elaborated new style in doing history. Rapid progress in cosmology after the discovery of the microwave background radiation in 1965 still awaits its more comprehensive historical elaboration.

    Opis:
    We present a short account of the early history of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Cracow. These beginnings go back to the inter-war period when the tradition was established of close interactions between philosophers and scientists, especially physicists (Smoluchowski, Natanson). In the post-war period, under the communist regime, this tradition was continued at the Theological Institute (later the Pontifical Academy of Theology) in Cracow, erected by Cardinal Wojtyła, the then archbishop of Cracow, after the Theological Faculty had been removed from the Jagiellonian University by the communists. The collaboration of the Cracow Center with the Catholic University of Lublin and with the Warsaw Academy of Theology is briefly described, and the style of philosophy in Cracow presented.

    Despite many novelties in participation: participatory budgeting, citizens jury, deliberatice poll etc. the engagement of different stakeholders’ groups in the decision making processes concerning detailed planning issues (local spatial management plans, water management plans, the preservation management plans of the Natura 2000 sites) is usually based on the organization of open discussion meetings. The study looks at the social consultations regarding acceptance of local spatial management plans managed by Poznań City Hall and consultations concerning the preparation of water management plans managed by Regional Water Management Board in Poznań. The comparative analysis served to exhibit similarities and differences between the processes in terms of legal conditions, the organization of meetings, the length and the scale of the process and the actors engaged.

    W artykule przedstawiono historię badań eksploracyjnych i inwentaryzacyjnych przeprowadzonych w latach 2002–2019 w górnej sztolni dawnej kopalni rud srebra i ołowiu St. Anna w Marcinkowie. W wyniku tych badań powstała obszerna dokumentacja fotograficzna i filmowa zachowanego wyrobiska. Przebadano próbki drewna ze sztolni w celu datowania obudowy. Ostatnia inwentaryzacja sztolni w 2019 r. ujawniła postępującą degradację wyrobiska i pozostałości historycznej obudowy.
    The article presents the history of exploratory and inventory research carried out in the years 2002–2019 in the upper adit of the former silver and lead mine of St. Anna in Marcinków. As a result extensive film and photographic documentation of the preserved excavation was produced. During the research samples of wood from the adit were collected and tested in order to date the casing. The last visit in the adit in 2019 revealed the progressive degradation of the excavation and the remains of the mining housing. Due to the danger it posed the entrance of the adit was buried.

    W latach 1950–51 trwały prace poszukiwawcze rud uranu w miejscowości Potoczek w południowej części Kotliny Kłodzkiej. Prace były efektem poszukiwań rud uranonośnych prowadzonych od 1948 r. w Kotlinie Kłodzkiej i Sudetach przez radzieckich geologów. Na stokach Andrzejowej Góry w Potoczku wykonano w tym czasie sztolnię z szybem oraz odbudowano dawną sztolnię, w której najprawdopodobniej wydobywano wcześniej rudę żelaza. Do października 1951 r. wydobyto w kopalni 18 t rudy zawierającej 40 kg uranu, po czym prace przerwano i wloty sztolni odstrzelono. W latach 2017–2019 trwały prace eksploracyjno-inwentaryzacyjne, mające na celu udokumentowanie przebiegu, wyglądu i stanu obecnego wyrobisk. W tym czasie udrożniono zasypany szyb, odkopano wlot sztolni nr 2 i udokumentowano jej przebieg na długości 300 m. Ze względu na zawał w głównym korytarzu i ogólny zły stan wyrobiska prace badawcze zakończono.
    In 1950–51 uranium ore mining was carried out in Potoczek in the southern part of the Kłodzko Valley. The work was the result of the search for uranium-bearing ores carried out from 1948 in the Kłodzko Valley and the Sudetes by Soviet geologists. On the slopes of Andrzejowa Góra in Potoczek at that time an adit with a shaft was built and the old adit in which iron ore was probably mined was rebuilt. By October 1951, 18 tons of ore containing 40 kg of uranium were mined in the mine, then the work was stopped and the tunnel inlets were blown off. In the years 2017–2019, exploration and inventory works were carried out to document the course, appearance and current condition of the mine. At that time, the backfilled shaft was cleared, the inlet of adit no. 2 was excavated and its course was documented over the length of 300 m. Due to the collapse in the main corridor and the general poor condition of the excavation, the research work must have been stopped.
