Opis:
A bolter miner is a new type of mining machinery with cutting and anchoring functions. In order to study the best pick layout of bolter miner cutting head. Based on the constitutive relation of Holmquist-Johnson-Cook (HJC), three simulation models of different cutting heads were established, and the whole crushing process of coal-rock was simulated by finite element method (FEM). The influence of the cutting head on the cutting performance under the condition of different rotational speeds and pick layouts was intensively studied. The results show that the relationship of load fluctuation coefficient among the three pick layouts is as follows: sequential type > hybrid type I > checkerboard type. The circumferential pick layouts can reduce the load fluctuation coefficient of cutting head. The rotational speed from 20 to 40 r/min, the torque linearly decreases with the increase of rotational speed. The rota-tional speed increases from 40 to 50 r/min, the cutting torque is relatively stable. The specific energy of chessboard type is relatively higher than the other three cutting heads. The difference of specific energy between sequential type and hybrid type I is not more than 5.5%, and the reality of the simulation is verified by cutting experiments. The results were successfully applied to the first shield type bolter miner in China.

Opis:
Aiming at the complex conditions of the first shielded bolter miner in the actual work, the mechanical model of bolter miner cutting head was established. Based on cutting mechanism of the conical pick and the cutting head, the cutting head load and torque analysis model under complex coal seam were established. The dynamic characteristics of load and torque in the process of cutting head are analyzed under three different working conditions of cutting roof-coal layers, coal-floor layers and coal seam by finite element method. The results show that when the damage variable D=1, the coal-rock completely lacks the bearing capacity, and it forms arc-shaped crushing groove on the coal-rock. The large difference of torque between roof-coal layers and the roof-coal layers in the conical pick is 112 Nm, which indicates that the cutting head has the best performance with cutting the coal seam first and then cutting the rock. In the process of excavation, the load fluctuation coefficient of cutting the coal-floor layers and roof-coal layers is about 1.2 times of that of the coal seam. The results can provide a reference for the efficient cutting and performance evaluation of the bolter miner.

A new three-step synthetic method was designed to prepare 2,6-diamino- 3,5-dinitropyrazine 1-oxide (LLM-105) with an overall yield of 43.5%, using iminodiacetonitrile, triethylamine and hydroxylamine hydrochloride as the starting materials, and involved nitrosylation, cyclization and nitration. The structure of LLM-105 was characterized by FTIR, 1H NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The crucial factors and mechanism of the cyclization were explored. Thermal decomposition, mechanical sensitivity and the purity of the LLM-105 were determined by TG-DTA, an impact sensitivity instrument and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) respectively. The results showed that LLM-105 synthesised via 2,6-diamino-3,5-dinitropyrazine (ANPZ) was less sensitive to impact, but the LLM-105 synthesized by the new method had some obvious advantages in terms of purity, security and production costs. Moreover, the LLM-105 synthesized by this new method can be initiated reliably without recrystallization.

A new high energy, low sensitivity material N,N,-bis(3-aminofurazan- 4-yl)-4,4´-diamino-2,2´,3,3´,5,5´,6,6´-octanitroazobenzene (BAFDAONAB) was synthesized from 4-chlorobenzoic acid and diaminofurazan. The structure of BAFDAONAB was characterized by FT-IR, NMR and Elemental Analyses and its purity was determined by HPLC. The optimized structure and thermodynamic parameters were obtained at the DFT- B3LYP/6-31+G** theoretical level. Its detonation properties were also predicted by the formulae of Kamlet-Jacobs and the Monte-Carlo method. The results show that the density, heat of formation, detonation velocity, detonation pressure, impact sensitivity and purity were 1.93 g/cm3, 4487.44 kJ/mol, 9.01 km/s, 35.03 GPa, 63 cm and 99.3%, respectively. In addition, the compound was an insensitive high explosive which could meet the requirements of high energetic materials.

The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of load on the net moment response at the L5/S1 joint during simulated slip events. Six young individuals were instructed to take one step with a handheld load. Sudden floor movement was randomly introduced to simulate unexpected slips. Different loads conditions (0%, 10%, 20%, 30% of body weight) were introduced at random. Three-dimensional net moments at the L5/S1 joint were computed via downward inverse dynamic model. Peak joint moment generated at 30% load level was found to be significantly higher compared to no-load condition. No peak moment differences were found among no-load, 10% or 20% load levels. Additionally, the findings from this study indicated a flexiondominant net L5/S1 joint moment pattern during motion phase associated with slip-induced falls.

During their long-term storage and transport, polymer bonded explosives (PBXs) will be subjected to complex thermal physical environments with combined thermal and mechanical loads. The creep behaviour results in a change of physical and mechanical properties, which consequently influences the explosive performance. In this work, graphene and a neutral polymeric bonding agent (NPBA) were selected to improve the non-linear creep properties of 1,3,5-triamino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene (TATB)-based PBXs. The results were compared with the creep response of the corresponding PBXs without additives and with graphene alone. It was observed that graphene and an NPBA exhibited a positive effect, improving the creep resistance of TATB-based PBXs. The compressive and tensile strength of 0.5 wt.% graphene-filled PBXs were improved by 5.1% and 29.2%, respectively, compared to raw TATB-based PBXs without additives. The performance of the PBXs was further enhanced by the addition of 0.1 wt.% NPBA. For a given stress and temperature, the TATB-based PBXs with graphene and NPBA deformed significantly less than the PBXs filled with graphene alone.

The effect of pH on surface characteristic and flotation of sulfidized cerussite was studied by micro-flotation tests, dissolution experiments, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The micro-flotation tests demonstrated that higher recovery of cerussite was achieved in acidic solutions than that in alkaline solutions. Despite the addition of high collector concentrations, cerussite flotation did not improved in alkaline solutions. The dissolution performance of sulfide-treated cerussite at different pH values indicated that the lead sulfide layer on the surface of sulfide-treated cerussite could exist in acidic solutions and it was more stable at acidic pH than in alkaline solutions. This finding was proved by the SEM-EDS and XPS analyses.

Opis:
High carbon ferromanganese is used as a starting material to prepare pure ferromanganese by electrorefining in molten salts. High carbon ferromanganese was applied as the anode, molybdenum was the cathode and Ag/AgCl was the reference electrode. The anodic dissolution was investigated by linear polarization in molten NaCl-KCl system. Then potentiostatic electrolysis was carried out to produce pure ferromanganese from high carbon ferromanganese. The cathodic product was determined to be a mixture of manganese and iron by x-ray diffraction (XRD). The content of carbon in the product was analyzed by carbon and sulfur analyzer. The post-electrolysis anode was characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM). The mechanism of the anode dissolution and the distribution of the main impurity of carbon and silicon after electrolysis were discussed.

Older apple trees often demonstrate physiologically unreasonable shoot distribution due to root system aging, which results in lower fruit yield and poor fruit quality. Therefore this study was conducted to test whether root pruning combined with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi could restore growth potential of fortyyear-old Red Fuji apple trees (Malus × domestica Borkh.) in a commercial orchard in 2013, by root pruning along both sides of rows, 80 cm from the trunk, to a depth of 30 cm and application of 100 ml arbuscular mycorrhizal inoculum per plant. Results showed that the percentage of root colonized by mycorrhizal fungi increased as root pruning was combined with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, however mycorrhizal colonization was not seen in the control roots and roots only by root pruning. For control tree total number of shoots decreased by 28.22% in 2015 than in 2013 and shoots mainly distributed in the outer canopy accounting for 58.10% of the total, which caused the lower light intensity inside the canopy, followed by lower fruit yield and poor fruit quality. Compared to control plant, shoot reduced by 33.96 and 38.51% in the outer canopy but increased by 97.99 and 123.69% in the inner canopy in 2015, as well as 390.20 and 478.43% in the vertical height of 1.5 to 2.5 m canopy, respectively treated by root pruning alone and combined with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi. Root pruning alone and combined with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi also raised the relative light intensity by 38.71 and 60.26% in the inner canopy in 2015, subsequent fruit yield by 315.79 and 373.68% respectively, in comparison to control plant. Shoot re-distribution improved fruit quality such as increase in firmness and soluble solid. Data indicated that the effect of root pruning combined with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi on the rejuvenation of older apple trees was stronger than root pruning alone. It is therefore concluded that root pruning combined with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi can think of as a measure to renew the older apple trees.

Opto-mechanical actuators controlled by high-energy lights represent a new class of non-contact precision actuators based on the photodeformation process. The photodeformation process involves two fundamental opto-piezo(electric)thermoelastic coupling phenomena: 1) the photovoltaic effect and 2) the converse piezoelectric effect. Irradiating high-energy lights, such as lasers or ultraviolet lights, on a certain class of photostrictive materials can trigger the photodeformation and, consequently the induced photodeformation can be used for non-contact precision actuation and control. In the process of photodeformation, the temperature induced pyroelectric effect and the thermal strain effect also affect the overall response. This paper is to evaluate the micro-actuation sensitivity and spatial effectiveness of distributed opto-mechanical shell actuators. Mathematical modeling of a circular cylinder laminated with a segmented opto-mechanical actuator patch is presented first, followed by analytical solution procedures. Various design parameters and micro-control actions, e.g., membrane control, bending control, actuator location, actuator length/size, are evaluated and their modal control sensitivities are reported. Time histories of free and controlled responses are demonstrated.
Opto-mechaniczne elementy wykonawcze sterowane wysokoenergetycznym światłem reprezentują nową klasę bezstykowych precyzyjnych aktuatorów działających przy wykorzystaniu procesu fotodeformacji. proces fotodeformacji opiera się na dwóch podstawowych zjawiskach sprzężenia opto-piezo(elektryczno)termosprężystego: 1) efektu fotowoltaicznego i 2) odwrotnego efektu piezoelektrycznego. Wysokoenergetyczne światła napromieniowujące takie, jak lasery lub ultrafiolet mogą zainicjować w pewnym typie materiałów fotostrykcyjnych proces fotodeformacji, który może być wykorzystany do bezstykowych elementów sterujących i wykonawczych o dużej precyzji. Indukowany temperaturowo efekt piroelektryczny, ujawniający się w procesie fotodeformacji oraz efekt odkształcenia termicznego wpływają na odpowiedź całego elementu. W pracy przedstawiono szacunkowe ujęcie wrażliwości mikrosterowania i efektywności przestrzennego rozkładu ciągłych opto-mechanicznych powłokowych elementów wykonawczych. W pierwszej części pracy przybliżono problem modelowania matematycznego powłoki cylindrycznej laminowanej razem z opto-mechanicznym aktuatorem. W części dalszej przedstawiono analityczne rozwiązania postawionego zagadnienia. Układ zbadano przy różnych parametrach konstrukcyjnych i oddziaływania mikrsterujących, np. przy modalnym sterowaniu drgań membranowych oraz giętnych i określono wpływ położenia aktuatorów oraz stosunku ich długości do rozmiaru układu. Zamieszczono przebiegi czasowe odpowiedzi układu bez i ze sterowaniem.

The study emphasizes on the understanding of the impact of ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ elements of TQM in South-Eastern European (SEE) firms in Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Greece, Macedonia, Montenegr, Serbia and Romania. Thus, 350 questionnaires were collected out of 1000. From different industry sectors in order to have reliable statistical measurements of the ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ side of TQM. Hence, this study adopts an exploratory rather than a confirmatory research approach. This approach seeks not only to investigate firms’ awareness and perception to TQM but also explores to what extent are firms’ familiar with TQM tools techniques, and systems as well as TQM philosophies and principles. Therefore, it can be noted TQM is this SEE firms is neither resisted nor directly accepted, rather they tend to see it from a technical aspect, being familiar and understanding only the essential of its ‘hard’ elements and less the ‘soft’ elements.

In China, stone coal is an important source of vanadium. The use of roasting–floatation for the pre-concentration of vanadium bearing mica from vanadium bearing stone coal was investigated based on its mineralogical characteristics. The results showed that the vanadium occurred in mica minerals and the main gangue minerals were coal, calcite, and quartz. The pre-concentration process comprises three key steps: roasting, desliming, and flotation. The coal was completely removed by roasting at 700 °C for an hour. Slime was concentrated and the subsequent flotation pulp was improved by desliming. Calcite was removed by reverse flotation and mica was concentrated by positive floatation. During the process, the grade of V2O5 was increased from 0.71% to 1.14%, and 46.18% of the tailings were rejected. The leaching rate of vanadium was increased from 30.49% of raw ore to 69.15% of the concentrate which was an increase of about 40% at the same leaching process. This technique may promote the efficient utilization of stone coal resources.

A topological index is a numeric quantity associated with a network or a graph that characterizes its whole structural properties. In [Javaid and Cao, Neural Computing and Applications, DOI 10.1007/s00521-017-2972-1], the various degree-based topological indices for the probabilistic neural networks are studied. We extend this study by considering the calculations of the other topological indices, and derive the analytical closed formulas for these new topological indices of the probabilistic neural network. Moreover, a comparative study using computer-based graphs has been carried out first time to clarify the nature of the computed topological descriptors for the probabilistic neural networks. Our results extend some known conclusions.

Opis:
Gradient descent method is one of the popular methods to train feedforward neural networks. Batch and incremental modes are the two most common methods to practically implement the gradient-based training for such networks. Furthermore, since generalization is an important property and quality criterion of a trained network, pruning algorithms with the addition of regularization terms have been widely used as an efficient way to achieve good generalization. In this paper, we review the convergence property and other performance aspects of recently researched training approaches based on different penalization terms. In addition, we show the smoothing approximation tricks when the penalty term is non-differentiable at origin.
