Opis:
Snoring is a typical and intuitive symptom of the obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS), which is a kind of sleep-related respiratory disorder having adverse effects on people’s lives. Detecting snoring sounds from the whole night recorded sounds is the first but the most important step for the snoring analysis of OSAHS. An automatic snoring detection system based on the wavelet packet transform (WPT) with an eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) classifier is proposed in the paper, which recognizes snoring sounds from the enhanced episodes by the generalization subspace noise reduction algorithm. The feature selection technology based on correlation analysis is applied to select the most discriminative WPT features. The selected features yield a high sensitivity of 97.27% and a precision of 96.48% on the test set. The recognition performance demonstrates that WPT is effective in the analysis of snoring and non-snoring sounds, and the difference is exhibited much more comprehensively by sub-bands with smaller frequency ranges. The distribution of snoring sound is mainly on the middle and low frequency parts, there is also evident difference between snoring and non-snoring sounds on the high frequency part.

Opis:
The flotation separation of chalcopyrite from monoclinic pyrrhotite using food-grade guar gum (FGG) as a depressant was studied through micro flotation and flotation kinetics experiments, zeta potential, adsorption measurements and scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis as well as infrared spectroscopy analysis. The flotation tests showed that the reagent scheme of depressant FGG 40 mg/dm3, collector PAX (potassium amyl xanthate) 10 mg/dm3 and frother MIBC (Methyl isobutyl carbinol) 10 mg/dm3 at pH 8.0 could achieve selective flotation separation of chalcopyrite from monoclinic pyrrhotite (a concentrate with Cu grade of 22.35% and recovery of 82.52% was achieved from the mixed minerals flotation), which indicated that FGG exhibited a selective depression effect on monoclinic pyrrhotite The kinetics, zeta potential, adsorption, SEM and infrared studies revealed that the depressant FGG could absorb more strongly on the surface of monoclinic pyrrhotite than chalcopyrite. Additionally, the results revealed that the interaction of FGG with the monoclinic pyrrhotite surface was governed primarily by strong chemisorption, whereas FGG mainly bonded to chalcopyrite through hydrogen bonding bonding. This property was the reason why FGG had excellent depression selectivity toward monoclinic pyrrhotite and weak depression effect on chalcopyrite flotation.

Opis:
The role of glutathione S-transferase Mu 1 (GSTM1) in the biomonitoring of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) is not clear. Our purpose has been to evaluate the influence of GSTM1 genotypes on 1-hydroxypyrene (1-OHP), deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) adducts, and micronucleus frequency in both occupational and non-occupational populations of null and active GSTM1 carriers. We conducted a meta-analysis on 25 articles that met our strict inclusion criteria (11 studies on 1-OHP, 9 on DNA adducts, and 5 on the micronucleus frequency). In the case of occupationally exposed workers, micronucleus frequency was only significantly higher in the null GSTM1 carriers than in the active GSTM1 carriers. In the non-occupationally exposed general population, 1-OHP and micronucleus frequency were significantly higher in the null GSTM1 carriers. The results of Egger’s test and funnel plot analysis indicated no significant publication bias. In conclusion, GSTM1 genotypes may affect the urinary 1-OHP in the non-occupationally exposed general population, and micronucleus frequency in both occupational workers and non-occupational population.
