Opis:
Cranial-cerebral traumas are a serious sociomedical issue. Brain damages, caused by experienced injury, often lead to various kinesthetic deficits, as well as to cognitive and language disorders. Due to the damage of a nervous system, there are many deep speech disorders such as aphasia, mainly senso-motorical type. The right evaluation of the appearing deficits, the right definition of therapeutical objectives and implementing of the therapy can give brain trauma patients the chance to regain the possibility to communicate.

The paper shows that conflicts of interest in science undermine its ethos. Some examples of this phenomenon have been analysed from the point of view of its destructive consequences. The need to counter them has also been identified in our country and some legal regulations and self-regulation are gradually being introduced. However, they are not always respected in practice. In the last part of the paper, a model of management of risk of bias in scientific research has been outlined. The main thesis says that an awareness of conflict of interest embracing both knowledge of the general issues and relevant assessment of the personal risk of lack of objectivism should be an ethical minimum of every scientific worker.

Bezpieczeństwo jest powszechnie uznawane za funadementalną wartość, dlatego jego zapewnienie stanowi zadanie priorytetowe zarówno dla państwa, jak i jednostek. Jednym z czynników, wpływających coraz silniej na bezpieczeństwo, są przemiany demograficzne, które zachodzą we współczesnym świecie. Nigdy dotąd demografia nie odciskała takiego piętna na bezpieczeństwie państwa, czego dowodem jest wyodrębnianie się w teorii naukobszaru bezpieczeństwa demograficznego państwa. W artykule podjęto próbę zdefiniowania pojęcia bezpieczeństwa państwa i bezpieczeństwa demograficznego państwa oraz określenia korelacji tych dwóch pojęć, a także odpowiedzi na pytanie czy bezpieczeństwo demograficzne jako nowy obszar badań to trwały trend, czy chwilowa konieczność. W dalszej części przedstawiono sytuację demograficzną Polski oraz jej prognozę do roku 2050. Temat zagadnienia jest obszerny, w artykule dokonano jedynie zarysu problemu.
Security is generally considered as a fundamental value, so its assurance is a priority for both the state and individuals. One of the factors affecting security more and more are demographic changes that are taking place in the modern world. Never before has demography had such a stigma on the safety of the state which is proved by separating the area of state demographic security in the science theory. The article attempts to define the concept of national security and the demographic security of the state and to determine the correlation of those two concepts, as well as answers to the question whether the demographic security as a new area of research is a permanent trend or a temporary necessity. The following shows the demographic situation of Poland and its prognosis for the year 2050. The topic is very extensive and the article only outlines the problem.

The aim of the paper is to disclose the limitations of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) standards. First, the aims and forms of CSR standardisation and the spectrum of CSR standards including their possible classifications are presented. The next part of the paper deals with the empirical data verifying the efficiency of CSR standards which often prove to be dysfunctional or even enhancing irresponsibility. The last part is devoted to the analysis of the causes of the unreliability of CSR standards.
Celem artykułu jest ujawnienie ograniczeń związanych ze standaryzacją CSR. W pierwszej części dokonano rekonstrukcji celów i form standaryzacji CSR, następnie przedstawiono spektrum standardów CSR, pokazując możliwe ich uporządkowania. Kolejna część artykułu sięga do danych empirycznych weryfikujących efektywność standardów CSR. Okazuje się że często nie spełniają one swojej roli, a nawet zwiększają poziom nieodpowiedzialności. W ostatniej części artykułu podjęto analizę przyczyn zawodności tych standardów.

Self-regulation initiatives are undertaken by many lobbying circles in various countries. The key element of those initiatives are codes of ethics including a postulated model of lobbying activities, a specific pattern of ethical standards of lobbying. The aim of the article is a reconstruction of this pattern on the basis of the analysis of eight codes representing American, Polish, British, European and German lobbying. The analysis leads to the following conclusions. An axiological base of the lobbyist profession is created by such values as honesty, reliability, integrity, trust, professionalism, civic responsibility, openness, transparency, loyalty, respect, courtesy. Norms included in the codes are concentrated on the following issues: legality, transparency of actions, care of reputation and dignity of the profession, avoiding corruption, conflict of interest, customer relationship, duties toward society, public relations. A weak element of lobbying self-regulation is a system of norm execution.

A financial crisis of 2008 showed a global meaning of ethical dimension of the credit institution because lack of financial subjects’ responsibility is regarded as one of the causes of the world breakdown. The author attempts to reconstruct the role of credit in the society and economy, especially an evolution of its ethical aspects is analysed. It is aimed to catch and understand the phenomenon of responsibility for the effects of this institution activity which proved dramatic more and more often both for individuals and for the whole society.

Being a special relation between a leader and a group of people leadership generates various challenges of the ethical nature. The observation of trends in the demand for minerals is of fundamental importance in the long-term assessment of prospects for economic development in Poland. From among 148 minerals analyzed, 42 minerals are indicated as key minerals for the country’s economy, of which 22 were recognized as deficit minerals. These minerals have been the subject of this paper. For each of these minerals the forecasts of demand by the years 2030, 2040 and 2050 have been made taking the current trends in domestic economy and premises for the development of industries that are main users of these minerals into account. The most promising prospects for growth of domestic demand – with at least a two-fold increase by 2050 – have been determined for manganese dioxide, metallic: magnesium, nickel, silicon, as well as talc and steatite, while an increase by at least 50% have been anticipated for metallic aluminum, tin, metallic manganese, and elemental phosphorus. For natural gas and crude oil growing tendencies have also been predicted, but only by 2030. On the other hand, the most probable decline in domestic demand by 2050 may be foreseen for iron ores and concentrates, bauxite, metallic tungsten, magnesite and magnesia, as well as for crude oil and natural gas, especially after 2040. It seems inevitable that the deficit in the foreign trade of minerals will continue to deepen in the coming years. By 2030 this will mainly result from the growing importation of crude oil and natural gas, but beyond – by 2050 – further deepening in the trade deficit will be related to the growing importation of many metals as well as of some industrial minerals. After 2040, the negative trade balance can be mitigated by a possible decrease in foreign deliveries of hydrocarbons and iron ores and concentrates.
Obserwacja trendów zapotrzebowania na surowce mineralne ma fundamentalne znaczenie w długoterminowej ocenie perspektyw rozwoju gospodarczego Polski. Spośród 148 surowców mineralnych poddanych analizie, 42 zostały wskazane jako kluczowe dla polskiej gospodarki. Spośród nich 22 zostały uznane zarazem za surowce deficytowe. Te ostatnie stały się przedmiotem niniejszej pracy. Na podstawie dotychczasowych trendów krajowego zapotrzebowania na te surowce oraz przesłanek rozwoju branż będących ich głównymi użytkownikami, wykonano prognozy rozwoju popytu do 2030, 2040 i 2050 r. Najbardziej obiecujące perspektywy – przy min. dwukrotnym wzroście zapotrzebowania do 2050 r. – stwierdzono dla dwutlenku manganu, magnezu metalicznego, niklu, krzemu oraz talku i steatytu, a zwyżkę o co najmniej 50% – także w przypadku aluminium, cyny, manganu oraz fosforu pierwiastkowego. Dla gazu ziemnego i ropy naftowej wzrost jest oczekiwany, ale tylko do 2030 r. Największe prawdopodobieństwo spadku popytu do 2050 r. dotyczy rud i koncentratów żelaza, boksytów, wolframu oraz magnezytów i magnezji, a także gazu ziemnego i ropy naftowej, w szczególności po roku 2040. W rezultacie, w najbliższych latach deficyt Polski w handlu zagranicznym surowcami mineralnymi będzie się pogłębiał. Do 2030 r. będzie to wynikać głównie z wciąż rosnącego importu ropy naftowej i gazu ziemnego, ale później – do 2050 r. – dalsze pogłębianie się deficytu w obrotach surowcami mineralnymi będzie związane z rosnącym importem wielu surowców metalicznych, w szczególności aluminium, krzemu metalicznego, niklu metalicznego i magnezu metalicznego, a także niektórych surowców niemetalicznych. Po 2040 r. to niekorzystne zjawisko może być złagodzone poprzez możliwy spadek importu węglowodorów oraz rud i koncentratów żelaza.
