Peace has always been a topic of great importance. Its presence is desired by all nations and societies. It brings the world together in unity. John Paul II considered peace to be an integral part in creation of an independent and healthy society. Papal encyclicals and messages, intended to present the response of the teaching Church to problems that arise from time to time, often dwell on the principles that advocate peace. Since freedom and peace are in many cases a privilege for many nations, the mentioned pope commits himself to speak about the cruelty and evilness of wars and national conflicts. Pope John Paul II denounces intolerance as denial of freedom for many people, and consequently a great threat to peace. The pope teaches that peace has its roots in the family. Yet, in many societies, the family is deprived of the utmost importance that it certainly deserves. Without the adequate means for a decent livelihood, families can experience hardship in committing themselves to promote solidarity and a proper social fabric worthy of human dignity. For John Paul II, a nation’s freedom and peace are safeguarded and promoted through particular attention and a much-devoted effort by strong and healthy families.

In a contemporary, secularized society, faith is undervalued and marginalized.How can we find the “joy of faith” nowadays? A deepening response to this questionis found in “Joy of Faith,” which is a type of catechesis by Pope Benedict  XVI connected to the Year of faith. A re-reading of Pope’s thought gives a specialopportunity to realize the apparent truth that modern theology serves to awakenthe “joy of faith.” Turning this thought aside: believers need contemporary theologyso that their faith can be deepened, joyful and courageous in the discourse with“apostles” of religious indifference and moral relativism. Reading of papal catechesisreveals that faith gives a renewed glimpse into human existence, enables usto discover in God the source of truth, introduces in the experience of the action ofthe Holy Spirit and of the Church, and finally gives assurance of salvation, whichfor the Christian is the foundation of the ultimate (eschatological) joy.

At first, the authors describe complex history of the Academy of Catholic Theology in Warsaw founded in 1954 by arbitrary decision of the communist government in Poland. At that time Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski was arrested and held in a place of internment which was closely guarded by the state authorities. The issues of the canonicity of University began to clarify in the late fifties of the twentieth century, thanks to strong involvement of the Primate of the Millennium. These issues are summarized by Cardinal Zenon Grocholewski’s (now Prefect of the Congregation for Catholic Education) quote from his speech. When on 12 October 1998 he was receiving his honoris causa of the Academy of Catholic Theology he said: When in 1954 this Academy was established on the basis of a resolution of the Council of Ministers as a state theological university, it was probably, in the intentions of the communist authorities who programmed atheism and fight religion to act as a Trojan horse in the Church. I think many people of the Church remembered back then the words of Laocoon from Virgil’s Aeneid: “Timeo Danaos et dona ferentes” - (I fear the Greeks even when they bring gifts). Academy of Catholic Theology, however, did not let to its instrumentalization and deception, it did not allow to enslave, but has become a genuine university and a serious study of the theological sciences, it has become a brave defender of freedom of thought and a pioneer of the contemporary reality thought of our country, it has made an undeniable contribution to Polish culture and Polish science. The authors also brought out from the very rich legacy of Cardinal speeches the text presented at the ACT in 1976. Primate then said: the reality is that if God is love, then the whole of humanization is a form of penetration of everyday life with the forces of love of the Creator, it is benefiting it from Him and transmitting it to man - as Christ did. Today, we have a good example of such behavior. It is the St. Francis of Assisi, whose 750th anniversary of death we are considering this year. [...] Francis is very current for our times. He carried out the Gospel and humanized human life with it and the Gospel is always valid for the humanization of human life.These words became even more meaningful after 13 March 2013, when Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio of Argentina was elected for pope and chose the name Francis. When in the end of the nineties ACT began transforming into a university-level facility, the name of the future of the University and its patron considered various possibilities. During one discussion a proposal was made: Primate of the Millennium. Everyone agreed to that proposal. It was recognized that the election of Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski as the Patron of the University will put before a new task of restoration the University and its permanent preservation in the Polish society awareness of the person and the work of Cardinal Wyszynski, his role in the postwar period, during extremely difficult times. In its name the University refers to a great patriot and a statesman of the Church, as well as an outstanding figure of Polish history.

W niniejszym artykule szczegółowo przedstawiono sytuację związaną z wypadkami przy pracy na przykładzie wybranego przewoźnika kolejowego o ugruntowanej i stabilnej pozycji lidera. Dokonano analizy działań podejmowanych przez pracowników służby bhp dla zapewnienia bezpiecznej pracy w przedsiębiorstwie. Rozłożenie na czynniki pierwsze sytuacji wypadkowej, poparte różnorodnymi zestawieniami, pozwoliło odzwierciedlić realizm warunków bhp panujących w firmie. W części końcowej opracowania autor przedstawia obiektywne wnioski wynikające z wieloletniej obserwacji warunków pracy w tejże firmie.
This article presents in detail the situation related to accidents at work on the example of a selected railway carrier with an established and stable leadership position. An analysis was made of the activities undertaken by OSH employees to ensure safe work in the enterprise. Detailed analysis of the accident situation, supported by various combinations, reflected the realism of occupational health and safety conditions prevailing in the company. In the final part of this study, the author presents objective conclusions resulting from long-term observation of working conditions in that company.

Pracownicy placówek służby zdrowia są narażeni na wiele czynników, które zagrażają ich zdrowiu a nawet życiu. Lekarze należą do grupy pracowników służby zdrowia mającej bezpośredni kontakt z zagrożeniami, zwłaszcza biologicznymi i psychofizycznymi. Wśród nich pojawiają się tzw. „nowe” zagrożenia, które trudno zidentyfikować, zmierzyć i ocenić. O ile zagrożenia biologiczne są wskazywane przez specjalistów jako główne i priorytetowe w profilaktyce, to zagrożenia psychofizyczne – zwłaszcza psychospołeczne – są bagatelizowane. Ich wpływ na zdrowie i życie lekarzy jest istotny i determinuje zarówno jakość wykonywanej pracy jak również poziom ryzyka zawodowego pracy lekarzy. Istnieje potrzeba rzetelnej identyfikacji zagrożeń „nowych i pojawiających się” w celu minimalizowania ich wpływu na pracę, ale przede wszystkim zdrowie i życie lekarzy. W niniejszej pracy dokonano identyfikacji zagrożeń zawodowych w pracy lekarza, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem tych, których rzetelna identyfikacja jest nie lada wyzwaniem. Przedstawione wyniki są częścią większej całości.
Employees of health care institutions are exposed to many factors that threaten their health and even life. Doctors belong to the group of health professionals who have direct contact with threats, especially biological ones and psychophysical. Among them, so-called "New" threats that are difficult to identify, measure and evaluate. While biological threats are indicated by specialists as the main and priority in prevention, psychophysical threats – especially psychosocial ones – are underestimated. Their impact on the health and lives of doctors is important and determines both the quality of work performed and the level of occupational risk of doctors' work. There is a need for reliable identification of "new" threats and appearing "to minimize their impact on work, but above all health and life of doctors. This work identifies occupational hazards in the work of a physician, with particular emphasis on those whose reliable identification is quite a challenge. The presented results are part of a larger whole.

Ważność problematyki zarządzania bezpieczeństwem żywności nie wymaga uzasadnienia. Od zawsze był to temat ważny dla każdego uczestnika łańcucha żywnościowego, począwszy od producenta materiału siewnego, a skończywszy na konsumencie. Najważniejszym elementem składającym się na złożoną dziedzinę zarządzania bezpieczeństwem żywności jest jej zapewnienie. Zapewnienie bezpieczeństwa żywności polega na zagwarantowaniu konsumentowi, że po jej spożyciu nie będą występowały niekorzystne dla niego efekty uboczne, wynikające na przykład z zatrucia. Gdy do zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa żywności dodamy jeszcze aspekty związane między innymi z nadzorem nad właściwą dokumentacją, monitorowaniem, odpowiedzialnością kierownictwa czy audytami, to wówczas mamy do czynienia z zarządzaniem bezpieczeństwem żywności.
Summary The validity of the issues of food safety management does not require justification. It has always been a subject important for each participant of the food chain, from the seed manufacturer and ending with the consumer. The most important element in the management of food safety is the assurance. When to ensure food safety, we add aspects, inter alia, the supervision of documentation, monitoring, management responsibility and audits, then we have to deal with the management of food safety. The monograph is a compilation of the issues of food safety management in the context of theoretical and practical. In the first chapter of the study, presented the results of own research in the field of process approach in the food industry, implementation of the standards of quality management and food safety on farms, managing traceability of food products and IT support food safety management. Theory and practice of implementation of food safety standards, reference to HACCP system, ISO 22000 system, BRC and National Food Quality Schemes. The primary purpose of the monograph is to present the translate of the theoretical content related to the standards of food safety management into the practice of their implementation, based on good practices operating in selected enterprises of food industry

Lekarze stomatolodzy są wystawieni na szereg zagrożeń zawodowych, które powodują, że ich praca niesie za sobą znaczące ryzyko utraty zdrowia. Są oni narażeni przede wszystkim na czynniki biologiczne, chemiczne oraz psychofizyczne. Nierzadko gabinetem stomatologicznym zarządza właściciel, który również jest lekarzem stomatologiem. Jak wynika z badań, w gabinetach stomatologicznych temat bezpieczeństwa pracy i ochrony zdrowia jest dość często bagatelizowany. Wiele z nich nie posiada w swej dokumentacji oceny ryzyka zawodowego, czy nawet szkoleń wstępnych pracowników w nich zatrudnianych. Rodzi się zatem pytanie, jaki poziom bezpieczeństwa pracy istnieje w gabinetach stomatologicznych, które po 1989 roku zostały w Polsce w pełni sprywatyzowane? Można założyć, że w każdej organizacji, w każdym przedsiębiorstwie – nawet najmniejszym – bezpieczeństwo pracy istnieje, chociażby przez wzgląd na wymogi prawne, przepisy, normy. Aby pracownicy wykonywali swoją pracę bezpiecznie, zarówno przez wzgląd na zdrowie własne jak i pacjentów, potrzeba motywatora do osiągnięcia jakiegoś minimum w tym zakresie. Literatura przedmiotu wskazuje wiele przykładów metod i narzędzi motywujących pracowników do bezpiecznej i bezwypadkowej pracy. W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań ankietowych, przeprowadzonych w częstochowskich gabinetach stomatologicznych, dotyczących bezpieczeństwa i ochrony zdrowia w pracy lekarza stomatologa oraz metod i narzędzi motywujących do bezpiecznej i bezwypadkowej pracy, stosowanych przez właścicieli gabinetów.
Dentists are exposed to a number of occupational hazards that cause their work to be associated with significant health risks. They are primarily exposed to biological, chemical and psychophysical factors. Often, the dental office is managed by the owner, who is also a dentist. According to research, the topic of occupational safety and health care is often downplayed in dental offices. Many of them do not have a risk assessment in their documentation or even initial training of employees. Therefore, the question arises, what level of occupational safety exists in dental offices, which in 100% after 1989 have been privatized in Poland? It can be assumed that in every organization, in every company – even the smallest one – there is work safety, even due to legal requirements, regulations and standards. In order for employees to be able to do their work in a safe manner, motivating factors are needed to achieve the minimum in this respect. In the literature on the subject there are many examples of methods and tools that motivate employees to work safely and without accidents. The article presents the results of a questionnaire survey carried out in the dental offices in Częstochowa in the scope of health and safety of the dentist as well as methods and tools that motivate to safety and accident- free work, used by cabinet owners.
