Opis:
In order to solve the problem of large error of delay estimation in low SNR environment, a new delay estimation method based on cross power spectral frequency domain weighting and spectrum subtraction is proposed. Through theoretical analysis and MATLAB simulation, among the four common weighting functions, it is proved that the cross-power spectral phase weighting method has a good sharpening effect on the peak value of the cross-correlation function, and it is verified that the improved spectral subtraction method generally has a good noise reduction effect under different SNR environments. Finally, the joint simulation results of the whole algorithm show that the combination of spectrum subtraction and cross-power spectrum phase method can effectively sharpen the peak value of cross-correlation function and improve the accuracy of time delay estimation in the low SNR environment. The results of this paper can provide useful help for sound source localization in complex environments.

Opis:
The Kuroshio Extension front (KEF) considerably influences the underwater acoustic environment; however, a knowledge gap persists regarding the acoustic predictions under the ocean front environment. This study utilized the high-resolution ocean reanalysis data (JCOPE2M, 1993–2022) to assess the impact of the KEF on the underwater acoustic environment. Oceanographic factors were extracted from the database using the Douglas-Peucker algorithm, and acoustic propagation characteristics were obtained using the Bellhop raytracing model. This study employed a backpropagation neural network to predict the acoustic propagation affected by the KEF. The depth of the acoustic channel axis and the vertical gradient of the transition layer of sound speed were identified as the fundamental factors influencing the first area of convergence, with correlations between the former and the distance of the first convergence zone ranging from 0.52 to 0.82, and that for the latter ranging from −0.42 to −0.7. The proposed method demonstrated efficacy in forecasting first convergence zone distances, predicting distances with less than 3 km error in >90% of cases and less than 1 km error in 68.61% of cases. Thus, this study provides a valuable predictive tool for studying underwater acoustic propagation in ocean front environments and informs further research.

Opis:
In this paper, a new combustor with an output of 5 t/h is designed based on a computational particle fluid dynamics (CPFD) model. The flow field simulation is combined with the combustion simulation to analyze the internal two-phase flow, temperature field, and combustion products. The combustor structure was optimized. The simulation results show that the recovery efficiency of the waste sand and the energy utilization of the combustor can be improved under the original structure. The sand bed has a significant effect on flow field characteristics. The increase in particle temperature in the combustor increases the efficiency of waste sand recovery by increasing the height of the sand bed by 50 mm. The utilization rate of natural gas is increased and the economic efficiency is improved. The feasibility of the CPFD method can simulate the flow field characteristics inside the combustor very effectively.

Opis:
In the present investigation, the morphology of Ti inclusions in high strength tire cord steel was investigated and their precipitation behavior was discussed using a precipitation and growth model. The results show that Ti inclusions mainly exist in the form of TiN. The two-dimensional characterization of Ti inclusions is square-like with sharp edges and corners, while its three-dimensional shape exhibits a cubic or rectangular-prism morphology. The Ti inclusions do not precipitate when the solid fraction of tire cord during solidification is less than 0.987, and their final radius is closely related to the cooling rate and initial concentration product. The higher the cooling speed, the smaller the final radius, when the cooling speed is constant, the final radius of Ti inclusions is mainly determined by the initial concentration product, w[N]0×w[Ti]0. In order to retard the precipitation and growth of Ti inclusions in tire cord steel, the cooling rate and initial concentration product can be taken into consideration.

Opis:
The Pb(II)-resistant bacterium was isolated from heavy metal-contained soils and used as a biosorbent to remove Pb(II). The strain was identified as Enterobacter sp. based on the 16S rRNA sequence analysis. The effect of biosorption properties (pH value, Pb(II) concentration, bacterial concentration and temperature) on Pb(II) was investigated by batch experiments. Results of FTIR and XPS showed that the biosorption process mainly involved some oxygen-containing groups (-OH and -COOH groups). The experimental results and equilibrium data were fitted by pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Langmuir model, respectively. The experimental biosorption isotherms fitted the Langmuir model, and the maximum biosorption capacity was 40.75 mg/g at 298 K. The calculated ΔGо and ΔHо were –4.06 and 14.91(kJ/mol), respectively, which indicated that biosorption process was spontaneous and endothermic. Results show that Enterobacter sp. will be an efficient biosorbent for Pb(II) removal.

Opis:
In current society, smart clothing technology has become a critical way to improve the life quality of the elderly. This work conducted a category product evaluation and user demand system through the bibliometrics method, product evaluation analysis, focus group interviews and questionnaires. Based on the system, we designed smart clothing from the aspects of the clothing structure, hardware, software program and intelligent terminal platform to meet the needs of disabled elderly people and their caregivers in multiple scenarios. According to the test results of the smart clothing, the average error of temperature and humidity monitoring is 0.20℃ and 2.88%RH. The time of putting on-taking off clothing in 6 representative daily scenarios was reduced by 51.67%. The daily body checking times, uncomfortable behaviours, and the anxiety of caregivers was decreased by 42.31%, 28.52% and 74.37%. Compared with ordinary clothing, six of the eight comfort performances are basically the same, and two are slightly worse.

This paper investigates the dynamic behavior of elastoplastic collision of several non-sphere particles through the spherical element combination method. The particles are cylinder, triangle and square particles, which are combined by 2, 3 and 4 spheres using the spherical element method, respectively. Results reveal that the collision of the evaluated irregular particles exhibits three contact styles, which are single point contact, instantaneous multi-point contact and sequential multi-point contact. Normal contact torque and frictional torque act together on the spin of a particle and causes sequential multi-point contact under certain conditions for square particles.

Opis:
Mid-low grade phosphate rock (PR) is a potential source of free phosphate to facilitate crop growth, but a cost effective and environmentally responsible extraction process is required. In this study, the capacity of a microbial consortium from activated sludge to solubilize PR in a laboratory-scale column reactor was investigated. The microbial consortium proved capable of efficiently releasing soluble phosphate in the reactor effluent over the 90-day trial. The microbial consortium grew well in the column system as evidenced by reduced chemical oxygen demand (COD) in the reaction solution. Biofilm formation was identified as critical for biosolubilization of the mid-low grade PR. Imaging of the biofilm by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) revealed a dense network of microbial cells embedded in extracellular polymeric substances (EPS). The biofilm contained both oxic and anoxic zones. The pH decreased significantly in both the biofilm and the reaction solution during operation, indicating healthy growth of the microbial consortium with corresponding acid generation and subsequent enhancement of phosphate solubilization.

RGS21
G-protein signaling pathway
G-protein α subunit (Gα)
Opis:
Regulators of G-protein signaling (RGS) proteins are known for the RGS domain that is composed of a conserved stretch of 120 amino acids, which binds directly to activated G-protein α subunits and acts as a GTPase-activating protein (GAP), leading to their deactivation and termination of downstream signals. In this study, a novel human RGS cDNA (RGS21), 1795 bp long and encoding a 152-amino acid polypeptide, was isolated by large-scale sequencing analysis of a human fetal brain cDNA library. Unlike other RGS family members, RGS21 gene has no additional domain/motif and may represent the smallest known member of RGS family. It may belong to the B/R4 subfamily, which suggests that it may serve exclusively as a negative regulator of αi/o family members and/or αq/11. PCR analysis showed that RGS21 mRNA was expressed ubiquitously in the 16 tissues examined, implying general physiological roles.
