    El objetivo de este artículo es arrojar luz sobre Medusa (2012), una novela del escritor español Ricardo Menéndez Salmón que examina el tema de la representación del horror. Focalizando nuestra atención en la ambigüedad moral del artista, es esencial profundizar en la ambivalencia entre los ojos culpables y las miradas impunes. Para este propósito, este estudio se propone analizar los diferentes materiales icónicos (fotografías, cuadros y películas), que la novela integra en su estilo narrativo, ofreciendo una nueva perspectiva acerca del tratamiento del horror en la literatura hispánica contemporánea.

    Este artículo se propone analizar cómo las voces de los libros trascienden la palabra escrita para convertirse en mecanismo hermenéutico para ver y comprender el mundo. Para tal propósito el estudio aborda la relación entre palabra e imagen a la luz de la interacción de sus signos verbales (los libros) y visuales (los carteles bélicos). El artículo se centra en "La Guerra Civil en 2.000 carteles" –libro comentado por dos personajes (Jack Deza y Peter Wheeler)– con el fin de constatar la presencia de una doble codificación semiótica en la obra de Javier Marías al mostrar los carteles de guerra y escribir sobre ellos. El artículo concluye que los carteles bélicos se convierten en una estrategia icónica para reflexionar y mostrar el motivo de la conversación imprudente (careless talk). En síntesis, la investigación de las prácticas verbales y visuales del escritor pone de manifiesto una doble configuración discursiva de la guerra y examina las relaciones entre ambas estrategias a las que la crítica especializada aún no ha dedicado una reflexión minuciosa.

    The objective of this study was to identify the relationship between personal, business, management, and social skills and the entrepreneurship program of students from an educational institution with an entrepreneurial profile in the creation of micro and small companies. The type of research was quantitative, correlational, and non-experimental. The subjects were 320 students from the field of economic and administrative sciences. The instrument was validated by four professors from the Autonomous University of Nuevo León, Autonomous University of Coahuila, Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Ecate-pec, and the Technological Institute of Sonora and had two sections. In the first, there were 17 general information questions, and the second contained 45 questions on a Likert scale ranging from 1 to 5. Regarding the results, it was demonstrated that personal, business, management, and social skills as well as skills developed in educational programs are significant and have a positive relationship with the entrepreneurial profile for the creation of micro and small businesses. The study provides the basis for other studies that seek to assess the skills of entrepreneurs and the creation of micro and small businesses.

    Opis:
    The first case of prostatitis in a ten year old mixed breed dog due to Acanthamoeba genotype T4 is reported. The dog was suffering from kidney dysfunction and was admitted for exploration of its organs by echography. All organs were in normal conditions with the exception of the prostate which showed signs of inflammation. An ultrasound-guided puncture was thus performed for further cytological and microbiological study. When the obtained fluid was observed under the microscope, Acanthamoeba trophozoites were detected in a high number. No other pathogens were isolated. Both culture and PCR were positive for Acanthamoeba genus and the isolate was later identified as genotype T4. Unfortunately at this stage, the dog’s owner decided to reject any kind of treatment or therapy. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of prostatitis in a dog due to Acanthamoeba genus.
