    Celem artykułu jest prezentacja gminy, podstawowej i zarazem najbliższej obywatelowi jednostki podziału administracyjnego państwa włoskiego. Jednostki autonomicznej, zaopatrzonej we własny statut i o określonych kompetencjach, której funkcjonowanie jest gwarantowane na poziomie konstytucyjnym. Autorka spojrzy na gminy z punktu widzenia włoskiego prawodawstwa, jako na podmioty posiadające osobowość publiczno-prawną i składające się z określonych elementów (ludność, terytorium, mienie), aby potem przejść do omówienia struktury i funkcjonowania organów gminy, sposobu ich wyboru (w zależności od liczby mieszkańców – system większościowy dla gmin o liczbie ludności do 15 tys., proporcjonalny powyżej tej liczby) oraz zadań leżących w ich kompetencji.
    The article presents the municipality, and also the closest primary citizen of the political subdivisions of the Italian State. Autonomous units, equipped with its own statutes and certain competence, whose operation is guaranteed in the constitution. The author looks at community from the perspective of the Italian legislation, as entities with a public – legal and consisting of certain elements (population, territory, property), to then proceed to discuss the structure and functioning of the municipal authorities, namely the mayor, board and municipal council , the method of their choice (depending on the number of inhabitants, the majority of the system for municipalities with a population of 15 thousand., the proportion above this figure) and the tasks falling within their competence.

    Social assistance to approprietly carry out its role which is to enable citizens to overcome difficult situations in lives, should have an adequate organizational structure. For that purpose institutions of social assistance providing temporary as well as 24-hour care are formed. Diversified character of provided services and the scale of services provided as well as changes in the structure of target recipients of services force also changes in the system of care and advisory institutions. The aim of the article is to show the most important directions of changes which have taken place in the institutional system of social assistance in the recent years. In the theoretical part of the article the author makes a comparison of social assistance institutions, and in the analytical part she uses simple statistical methods studying the dynamics and the structure of a given phenomenon presenting the results in tabular and graphical form. Analysed data come from the annual reports of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy from the granted benefits of social assistance − monetary, in kind and services (MPiPS- 03) in the years 2006- 2013. On their base it is possible to state that social assistance in the institutional scope is assuming more and more extended character, and there are more and more communes led by non-public entities in its structure.

    Opis:
    A discussion about the migration of Polish society after the accession of Poland to the European Union appears to be unjustified. The phenomenon of the migration of Polish society reaches the XIXth century, when about four million Polish emigrants settled down in the United States of America. Since the middle of the XIXth century the migration for employment has played the most important role in Poland. In the article its authors conducted the analysis of Polish migration since 2004. Statistical material comes from Polish Central Statistical Office, reports and research results. The main hypothesis of the article is that the effect of the accession of Poland to the European Union was the increase in the employment mobility of Polish workers due to the improvement of institutional conditions. The second hypothesis showed that on account of social-economic conditions inhabitants of eastern Poland, much more often decided on moving abroad than the residents of better developed areas of western Poland. However, the conducted data analysis of applying contemporary emigration did not prove the second hypothesis. It only let state that economic changes had a great impact on the scale volatility of the number of people who emigrated after 2004. The biggest decrease of the number of Polish emigrants took place in 2009 (nearly 40% year to year) which was connected with the economic crisis. The goal of this article is an analysis of Polish migration in the years 2004–2013. The authors conducted the analysis in the view of age and gender. The article describes the phenomenon of Polish migration before the accession to the European Union in 2004.

    The article presents the authors’ reflections on the application of action research strategy in developing the research toolkit of undergraduates at the Nicolaus Copernicus University Faculty of Pedagogical Sciences. The research was based on students’ opinions on conducting research using the action research strategy. Opinions were collected using semistructured interviews, which were recorded and transcribed. The study involved 16 students of pedagogy, participants of a proseminar and a diploma seminar. The students were preparing to work on their diploma theses and conduct a research process. The selected students elected to implement the action research strategy into their scientific activity. Data collected during the interviews attest to the usefulness of the adopted strategy which the respondents found helpful in solving educational issues in the examined communities. The undergraduates presented their opinions on action research, methods of identifying research problems, and the benefits of implementing action research in the course of scientific research activities. They also indicated difficulties in carrying out action research and stated research competencies recommended to equip future teachers with.
    Artykuł prezentuje refleksje Autorek dotyczące zastosowania strategii badań w działaniu w rozwijaniu warsztatu badawczego licencjatek Wydziału Nauk Pedagogicznych Uniwersytetu Mikołaja Kopernika w Toruniu. Podstawą rozważań były opinie studentek dotyczące realizacji badań w strategii badań w działaniu, zebrane podczas wywiadów częściowo ustrukturyzowanych, które zarejestrowano i poddano transkrypcji. W badaniu wzięło udział 16 studentek pedagogiki. Były to uczestniczki proseminarium i seminarium dyplomowego, które rozpoczynały przygotowania do opracowania pracy dyplomowej i prowadzenia procesu badawczego. Wybrane studentki podjęły decyzję o wdrożeniu tej strategii badań w swoich działaniach naukowych. Wypowiedzi respondentek świadczą o użyteczności przyjętej strategii prowadzącej do osiągania rozwiązań problemów edukacyjnych w badanych społecznościach. Prezentują własną perspektywę spostrzegania badań w działaniu, sposoby identyfikacji problemu badawczego oraz korzyści wynikające z zastosowania badania w działaniu w pracy nad projektem badawczym. Wskazują również trudności w realizacji badań w działaniu oraz kompetencje badawcze, w które warto wyposażyć przyszłych nauczycieli.

    Seersucker woven fabrics are characterised by the occurrence of puckered and flat strips in the warp direction, creating a 3D woven structure. Such a kind of structure influences the properties of fabrics significantly. In the work presented, seersucker woven fabrics of different structure were investigated. Diversification of the structure was achieved by the application of different weft yarns. The aim of the work was to analyse the relationship between the structure of seersucker fabrics and their tensile properties. Additionally the influence of test sample preparation on the measurement results was the subject of analysis. Measurement of the mechanical properties: breaking force and elongation at break was made using standardised test methods. The investigations performed showed that in the case of seersucker woven fabrics, the repeat of the puckered strips is a very important factor. Both the number of puckered strips as well as their width influence the results of the mechanical properties of fabrics.
    Tkaniny gofrowane charakteryzują się występowaniem pofałdowanych i płaskich pasków w kierunku osnowy. Tworzą one trójwymiarową tkaną strukturę. Taka struktura wpływa znacząco na właściwości tkanin. W prezentowanej pracy zbadano tkaniny gofrowane o zróżnicowanej strukturze. Zróżnicowanie struktury zostało osiągnięta poprzez zastosowanie różnych przędz wątku oraz różnych szerokości pasków gładkich i gofrowanych. Celem pracy była analiza zależności między strukturą tkanin gofrowanych a ich właściwościami mechanicznymi; siłą zrywająca i wydłużeniem przy zerwaniu. Ponadto przedmiotem analizy była ocena wpływu sposobu przygotowania próbki do badań na wyniki pomiarów. Pomiar właściwości mechanicznych: siły zrywającej i wydłużenia przy zerwaniu został wykonany przy użyciu znormalizowanej metody badawczej. Przeprowadzone badania wykazały, że w przypadku tkanin gofrowanych raport pasków gofrowanych jest bardzo ważnym czynnikiem. Zarówno liczba pasków gofrowanych, jak i ich szerokość wpływają na wyniki pomiarów właściwości mechanicznych tkanin gofrowanych.

    This article is devoted to the issue of cultural animation in educational practice. The authors share their experiences in the field of animation of educational activities for regional and global education of students of primary schools in Toruń during workshops carried out as part of the Toruń Science and Art Festival. The active and committed attitude of the participants in the classes was intensified by information and communication technologies constituting a specific transmission channel of the cultural components and elements of nature. The aim of the presented text is to popularize initiatives that stimulate socio-cultural and educational activity of citizens confronted with the emerging civilizational challenges of the 21st century.
    Niniejszy artykuł poświęcony jest zagadnieniu animacji kulturalnej w praktyce edukacyjnej. Autorki tekstu dzielą się swoimi doświadczeniami w zakresie animacji działań edukacyjnych na rzecz edukacji regionalnej i globalnej uczniów toruńskich szkół podstawowych zdobytymi podczas warsztatów realizowanych w ramach Toruńskiego Festiwalu Nauki i Sztuki. Aktywną i zaangażowaną postawę uczestników zajęć potęgowały technologie informacyjno-komunikacyjne stanowiące swoisty kanał transmisyjny składników kultury i elementów przyrody. Celem prezentowanego tekstu jest popularyzacja inicjatyw pobudzających aktywność społeczno-kulturalną i edukacyjną współczesnych obywateli w obliczu pojawiających się wyzwań cywilizacyjnych.

    Opis:
    The article presents the use of satellite images in the determination of forest fire danger rating categories. The assessment was carried out based on images from the LANDSAT TM, IKONOS and NOAA satellites, with the finding that the LANDSAT TM images are the most useful. A new solution proposed is to make forest fire danger rating categories refer to forest ranger sub-districts, what gives the forest service greater control over forest fire prevention activities. Forest fire danger assessment was done taking into account remote sensing indices such as the NDVI, TNDVI, and IHT, as well by the analysis of the spatial distribution and the number of fires in the previous six years. In accordance with the Polish State Forest Classification System, three classes were specified: 1 - high fire danger, 2 - moderate fire danger, 3 - low fire danger.

    Purpose: Digitalisation of healthcare in Poland which covers e-prescriptions, e-referrals, and shar ing electronic medical records (EMR) on the P1 platform3 is supposed to be fully completed and implemented from 1 January 2021. The success of that implementation is strictly connected to the level of digital skills of both healthcare providers and healthcare service users. The purpose of the present paper is to indicate potential problems which may arise from the digitalisation of healthcare in social groups which are not adapted to using information and communication technologies (ICT) in their day-to-day lives, especially in case of the elderly. Methodology: In order to indicate a potentially high level of digital exclusion in society, secondary data collected by Eurostat, Statistics Poland and CBOS4 were used. Problems in the healthcare sector, including those resulting from the digitalisation implemented in Poland, were presented against the backdrop of the changing law which applies here. Findings: The introduction of digital solutions in the healthcare sector in Poland, including EMR, e-referrals, and e-prescriptions, was postponed numerous times, which can indicate the lack of the proper preparation of providers for a digital revolution. However, a potentially greater problem may lie with healthcare service users, especially considering the fact that such services are used mostly by the elderly. The phenomenon of digital exclusion, generally associated with the lack of skills neces sary for using ICT, is frequently observed particularly among senior citizens. It can lead to social isolation which is a risk factor that influences the health of senior citizens and the quality of their lives. Originality/value: Some of the issues resulting from the adopted solutions and the legislation govern ing healthcare in Poland, including the digitalisation of said healthcare, and proposals for amend ments in this regard were provided in this interdisciplinary paper. It seems that those solutions could be used to reduce the threats of the digital exclusion of a significant part of Polish society, particularly in the group of seniors.

    Artykuł poświęcony jest technologiom informacyjno-komunikacyjnym (ICT) w sektorze ochrony zdrowia. Scharakteryzowano pojęcia prawne dotyczące omawianej problematyki. Podkreślono zagrożenia związane z kwestią ochrony danych wrażliwych, do których należą między innymi informacje dotyczące stanu zdrowia pacjentów. Przeanalizowano stan informatyzacji ochrony zdrowia w Polsce w kontekście zbliżającego się wprowadzenia obowiązku prowadzenia dokumentacji medycznej w postaci elektronicznej.
    The article concerns issues of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the health care sector. The legal concepts used in the discussed field are presented. Threats related to the protection of sensitive data, including information on patients’ health, are highlighted. The state of the computerization of health care in Poland has been analyzed in the context of the forthcoming introduction of the obligation to create medical records in an electronic form.

    Zagadnienie sztucznej inteligencji (AI) będącej efektem dynamicznego rozwoju technologii informacyjnej jest przedmiotem badań od kilkudziesięciu lat. Jednym z systemów inteligentnych, który generuje odpowiedzi na dowolnie postawione pytania jest ChatGPT, którego jednym z obszarów zastosowania jest edukacja. Artykuł przedstawia wyniki badań sondażowych przeprowadzonych w ramach zajęć dydaktycznych z zarządzania wśród studentów Uniwersytetu Ekonomicznego w Krakowie. Badania miały na celu identyfikację opinii studentów na temat możliwości wykorzystania platformy ChatGPT w rozwiązywaniu konkretnych problemów decyzyjnych i były prowadzone podczas zajęć dydaktycznych w semestrze letnim roku akademickiego 2022/23. W artykule opisano powstanie i rozwój systemu ChatGPT, zaprezentowano metodę badawczą oraz wyniki badań. Dokonano również dyskusji uzyskanych wyników z wnioskami zaprezentowanymi w literaturze naukowej. Z przeprowadzonej analizy wynika, że większość badanych studentów jest pozytywnie nastawiona do wykorzystania systemu ChatGPT na zajęciach. W odpowiedziach na pytanie otwarte pojawiły się jednak różne opinie. Z jednej strony wskazano na korzyści wynikające z jego stosowania jako narzędzia wspomagającego naukę, takie jak ułatwienie wyszukiwania informacji, parafrazowanie tekstu czy generowanie planów pracy. Z drugiej strony pojawiły się obawy dotyczące możliwości popełnienia plagiatu, a także ryzyko utraty umiejętności poszukiwania informacji przez studentów w sposób rzetelny i efektywny.
    Artificial intelligence (AI), the result of the dynamic development of information technology, has been the subject of research for several decades. ChatGPT is an intelligent system that generates answers to arbitrary questions, and one of its fields of application is education. This article presents the results of a survey conducted as part of a teaching course in management among students at the Krakow University of Economics. The research was aimed at identifying students' opinions on the possibility of using ChatGPT in solving specific decision-making problems and was conducted during the didactic classes in the summer semester of the academic year 2022/23. The article describes the origin and development of ChatGPT, presents the research method and the results of the research. A discussion of the results obtained with conclusions presented in the scientific literature is also made. The analysis shows that the majority of the students surveyed were positive about the use of the ChatGPT system in their classes. The students' responses to the open-ended question revealed different opinions. On the one hand, the benefits of using ChatGPT as a learning support tool were pointed out, such as facilitating information retrieval, paraphrasing text or creating work plans. On the other hand, concerns were raised about laziness, plagiarism and the loss of the ability to search for information reliably and efficiently.

    In the present study we describe the synthesis and some pharmacological properties of eight new analogues of bradykinin (BK). Two peptides were designed by substitution of position 7 or 8 of the known [d-Arg0,Hyp3,Thi5,8,d-Phe7]BK antagonist (Stewart's antagonist) with l-pipecolic acid (l-Pip). The next two analogues were obtained by replacement of the d-Phe residue in position 7 of the Stewart's peptide with l-β2-isoproline (l-β2-iPro) or l-β3-homoproline (l-β3-hPro). The four analogues mentioned above were also prepared in N-acylated form with 1-adamantaneacetic acid (Aaa). Biological activity of the compounds was assessed by isolated rat uterus and rat blood pressure tests. Our results showed that l-Pip in position 7 slightly increased antagonistic potency in the blood pressure test, but it turned the analogue into an agonist in the rat uterus test. Replacement of Thi by l-Pip in position 8 also enhanced antagonism in the rat pressure test but preserved the antagonism in the rat uterus test. l-β2-iPro or l-β3-hPro in position 7 decreased the potencies in both tests. We also demonstrated that acylation of the N-terminus did not increase, as was claimed previously, the antagonistic potencies of the resulting peptides. The results thus support the hypothesis about the existence of different types of BK receptors in the rat uterus and blood vessels. Our studies provide new information about the structure-activity relationship of BK antagonists which may help in designing more potent BK receptor blockers.
