    The two-mass resonant vibro-impact module is presented as the rod system with cylindrical intermediate supports. The corresponding design diagram is constructed. Based on the finite element method, the frequency of free oscillations is defined for the corresponding location of the intermediate supports. A stress-strain state of the elastic element is considered. The stiffness of the intermediate supports is defined by solving the contact problem between the cylindrical rod supports and the flat spring. The dynamics of the vibro-impact rod system with multiple natural frequencies is analyzed taking into account the contact stiffness of the intermediate supports. The determination of contact and equivalent stresses occurring during the operation of the vibro-impact rod system is performed.

    Opis:
    For the first time the design equations for determining the structural components of cylindrical tooth gears of reduction units are improved allowing for the use of informational technologies (IT). On the basis of the equations obtained the optimizing mathematical model of the optimal synthesis of structural components of tooth gearwheels has been developed. For solving the optimizing model the Monte-Carlo method is applied. The structural parameters (quantities), obtained by the developed optimizing mathematical model, have optimal values with probability up to 0.95 under the conditions of necessary strength and production safety. The implementation of the optimization process is recommended at the design institutions for the design of the cylindrical reduction drives for different objects of mechanical engineering and into the educational process of higher technical educational institutions while studying theoretical matters, accompanied by the use of IT.

    For carrying out experimental research a proving stand with closed power flow was designed. For the determination of oscillation process parameters (amplitude and frequency) the devices with input signals from strain sensors were used. Planning the experimental research and mathematical treatment of the results obtained was performed with the use of a full factorial experiment. The results of the experiment allowed for obtaining a nonlinear mathematical model for determining the oscillation amplitude and the amplitudefrequency characteristic of gear box oscillations (first harmonic). It then is used for determining the harmonic of the oscillating process caused by the inaccuracy of a tooth operating profile, which influences the smoothness of gear operation. The dependences taking into account internal and external dynamic loads from oscillating processes during the calculations of teeth gear hardness were obtained.

    We investigate the influence of the motion of fluid flushing the cutter of a well drilling column, and the angular rotational velocity upon dynamic characteristics of its flexural vibrations. We take into account the nonlinear elastic features of column material. As a base of the research we took the Galerkin method and the Van der Pol method. Combining those two methods made possible to obtain the relations describing the main parameters of the dynamical process In both nonresonance and resonance case.

    The aim of paper is to study the solution of the problem of nonlinear transverse vibrations of elastic elongated body under the force of resistance in unbounded domain. Such problems have applications in various technical systems - vibration of pipelines, railways, long bridges, electric lines, optical fibers. Unboundedness of the area creates more fundamental difficulties in the study of the problem. For the considered models of nonlinear oscillations have no general analytical techniques for determining the dynamic characteristics of the oscillatory process. Therefore it is sugges ted to use qualitative methods of the theory of nonlinear boundary value problems to obtain correct problem solution conditions (existence and uniqueness of the solution). In the paper conditions of the correctness of the solution of mathematical model for these nonlinear systems (sufficient conditions of the existence and uniqueness in the class of locally integrable functions) are obtained. Methods of qualitative study of semi-infinite cable vibrations under the forces of resistance based on general principles of the theory of nonlinear boundary value problems - method of monotony and Galerkin method. Scientific novelty of the work lies in particular in the generalization of methods of studying nonlinear problems on a new class of oscillatory systems In unbounded domains, justifying the correctness of the solution with specified mathematical model, which has practical applications in real engineering oscillatory systems. The technique allows not only for proving the correctness of the model solution, but also has an opportunity in its study to apply various approximate methods.

    The paper contains a preliminary analysis of the links between the portion fc of functional PS2 reaction centres in the photosynthetic apparatus of marine phytoplankton and environmental factors. The analysis is based inter alia on fluorometric measurements of fc (see Kolber & Falkowski 1993) in water sampled from different depths and trophic types of sea. From the statistical generalisations was derived an analytical form of the relationship between fc, and the optical depth and trophic type of sea (the trophicity index was taken to be the surface concentration of chlorophyll a). According to this relationship, fc rises as the trophicity of the sea does so. Moreover, there is a certain optimal optical depth for each type of water at which the number of functional PS2 reaction centres reaches a maximum. Above or below this depth the value of fc falls. At the present stage of investigations it seems reasonable to assume that this drop in the number of functional PS2 reaction centres close to the surface is due to the destructive effect of excessive irradiance. On the other hand, their reduced number at greater depths, below the fc maximum, can be attributed to the deficit of light and the consequent destruction of reaction centres.

    Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a common disease affecting aging males. In recent years, as alternative strategy for the prevention and therapy of BPH, there is an growing interest in usage of plant derived remedies i.e. from Serenoa repens (sabal palm) and some plants from the Epilobium genus. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of standardized Epilobium angustifolium L. and Serenoa repens extracts on expression level of CYP3A1 and CYP2D2 mRNAs in rats. Testosterone and standardized Epilobium angustifolium or commercial Serenoa repens extracts were given for 21 days to castrated male Wistar rats. The levels of CYP2D2 and CYP3A1 mRNAs expression were analyzed by real-time quantitative PCR using specific target primers. We have observed a slightly increased level of CYP2D2 mRNA in animals treated with testosterone and both plant extracts (by 4.6% in rats receiving Epilobium angustifolium extract and by 25.29% in animals treated with extract from Serenoa repens) and the CYP3A1 mRNA level by 11.02% in rats treated with Serenoa repens extract. In rats receiving E. angustifolium extract a 20.22% decrease of CYP3A1 mRNA expression level was observed. Results from our work showed that standardized plant extracts from Epilobium angustifolium and Serenoa repens have differentially influenced on CYP3A1 and CYP2D2 mRNA expression level in a rat liver.
    Łagodny rozrost gruczołu krokowego jest powszechnym schorzeniem występującym u starzejących się mężczyzn. W ostatnich latach wzrosło zainteresowanie roślinami leczniczymi należącymi do gatunku boczni piłkowanej (Serenoa repens) i rodzaju wierzbownica (Epilobium sp.), które mogą stać się alternatywną strategią profilaktyki i leczenia BPH. Celem pracy było ustalenie wpływu standaryzowanych wyciągów z Epilobium angustifolium i Serenoa repens na ekspresję cytochromów CYP3A1 i 2D2 u szczurów. Kastrowanym samcom szczurów rasy Wistar podawano przez okres 21 dni testosteron i badane, standaryzowane wyciągi roślinne. Zmiany poziomu ekspresji mRNA CYP3A1 i 2D2 mierzono techniką PCR w czasie rzeczywistym z użyciem starterów specyficznych dla cytochromów. Stwierdzono nieznaczne podwyższenie poziomu ekspresji mRNA CYP2D2 u zwierząt otrzymujących testosteron i oba wyciągi roślinne (podwyższenie o 4,6% u szczurów otrzymujących wyciąg z Epilobium angustifolium i o 25,29% u zwierząt otrzymujących wyciąg z Serenoa repens) i wzrost poziomu ekspresji mRNA CYP3A1 o 11,02% u zwierząt otrzymujących wyciąg z Serenoa repens. U szczurów otrzymujących wyciąg z Epilobium angustifolium stwierdzono obniżenie poziomu ekspresji mRNA CYP3A1 o 20,22%. Wyniki naszej pracy wykazały, że standaryzowane wyciągi z Epilobium angustifolium i Serenoa repens w zróżnicowany sposób wpływają na poziom transkrypcji CYP3A1 i CYP2D2 mRNA w wątrobie szczura.
