    Artykuł dotyczy możliwości zbudowania nowego systemu orzekania o niepełnosprawności opartego na prawnoczłowieczym modelu niepełnosprawności i Konwencji o prawach osób niepełnosprawnych (KPON). Przeprowadzona krytyka obecnego systemu orzekania jako opartego na modelu medycznym niepełnosprawności, jak również dyskusja z nomenklaturą proponowaną w zbliżającej się reformie orzecznictwa w Polsce, prowadzą do postulatu o wypracowanie orzekania respektującego zasadę godności osób z niepełnosprawnością. Proponowany nowy system orzekania pozytywnego opiera się nie na deficytach jednostki, ale na jej możliwościach i potrzebie wsparcia. W propozycji znalazły się obszary życia osób z niepełnosprawnością, które powinny być brane pod uwagę w procesie orzekania, jak również nowe rozwiązania w obszarze świadczeń i rent.
    The article concerns the possibility of building a new disability assessment system based upon the human rights model of disability and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The commentary on the current disability assessment system, based on a medical model of disability, as well as the discussion about the projected nomenclature regarding the upcoming reform of the Polish disability assessment system, have led to the demand for the development of a new system based on the principle of dignity of people with disabilities. The new system of positive assessment is focused on capabilities of a person and a need of support in contrast to the foregoing systems based on deficits. The proposal contains areas of persons’ with disabilities lives necessary to consider regarding disability assessment, as well as new solutions related to the benefit and annuities system.

    Obecnie coraz trudniej jest rywalizować poprzez dalsze skracanie czasu realizacji transakcji lub podnoszenie poziomu obsługi logistycznej. O pozycji konkurencyjnej przedsiębiorstw coraz częściej decydują aspekty pozafinansowe: środowiskowe, społeczne oraz ład korporacyjny. Celem przeprowadzonych badań jest ocena ładu korporacyjnego przedsiębiorstw logistycznych oraz ich zróżnicowanie w tym obszarze ze względu na profil działalności. Analiza statystyczna wykazuje, że w zbadanych podmiotach logistycznych poziom ładu korporacyjnego jest niższy od przeciętnego, zmierzonego dla ogółu gospodarki. Ponadto jest on zróżnicowany między grupami przedsiębiorstw logistycznych reprezentujących inne specjalizacje. W odniesieniu do zaangażowania społecznego i środowiskowego poziom ładu korporacyjnego w przedsiębiorstwach logistycznych prezentuje się najkorzystniej. Wynika to głównie z wymogów stawianych przez inwestorów. Niektóre aspekty są jednak nadal zaniedbywane, zwłaszcza zachowanie parytetu płci w zarządach spółek.
    Nowadays, it is difficult to compete by further shortening transaction time or improving service level. The non-financial factors such as ecological aspects, social involvement and corporate governance are more and more important in improving companies’ competitive position. The aim of the research is to assess the corporate governance in logistics companies and their differentiation in this field according to their profile. Statistical analysis shows that the level of corporate governance in assessed companies is comparatively lower than calculated for the sample consisted of various industries. It is also differentiated between groups of logistic companies representing other specializations. In regards to social and environmental engagement, the level of corporate governance in logistic companies is the most favorable. This is mainly due to investors’ requirements. Nevertheless, some aspects are still neglected. The main problem is providing gender parity in boards of directors.

    Car production is a kind of activity that affects environment, society and global economy to a large degree. The most negative impact can be observed in the first of mentioned fields. Every day automotive companies consume big amount of energy and resources. What is more, their final products are considered as one of the main pollution sources. Nevertheless many car producers made effort to minimize negative external effects of their businesses. Year by year various CSR classifications and rankings showed that those efforts were resultful but Volkswagen emissions scandal and anti-diesel lobby shed new light on car industry in the terms of CSR. The aim of the article is to review CSR activities undertaken by Audi AG. Literature review and report analysis performed within the case study shows that the company is active in the field of ecology, society and corporate governance. In many terms Audi AG can be considered as the one of global CSR leaders. It is characterized by wide range of long term initiatives, high employee satisfaction and constant dialogue with stakeholders. On the other hand Audi AG can not be seen as a responsible company in the light of misleading customers to raise sales volume.

    The paper presents the application of heuristic optimization methods in identifying the parameters of a model for bainite transformation time in ADI (Austempered Ductile Iron). Two algorithms were selected for parameter optimization – Particle Swarm Optimization and Evolutionary Optimization Algorithm. The assumption of the optimization process was to obtain the smallest normalized mean square error (objective function) between the time calculated on the basis of the identified parameters and the time derived from the experiment. As part of the research, an analysis was also made in terms of the effectiveness of selected methods, and the best optimization strategies for the problem to be solved were selected on their basis.

    This paper presents the design method and the construction details of a subsonic low-speed wind tunnel, which has been designed to achieve the flow velocity of 35 m/s in the measurement section with expected uniform velocity field at its inlet. To achieve such objectives a very detailed design was performed using a theoretical 1D analysis and computational fluid dynamics simulations. This approach was applied to improve the flow quality along the wind tunnel sections. When the wind tunnel has been launched a direct comparison of the experimentally measured flow field in the test section and numerical simulation results was conducted. Such comparison of the simulation results with the experimental one is presented in this paper. The obtained results confirm that assumed wind tunnel design method was correct, i.e. the pressure drop in the wind tunnel has been predicted very well and drive system is effective and sufficient to accelerate the airflow to required values.
