    W artykule zaprezentowano fragment prowadzonych od 2017 roku badań własnych na temat zaburzeń mowy i języka rejestrowanych u dzieci i młodzieży z anatomicznymi i/lub funkcjonalnymi zmianami w obrębie ośrodkowego układu nerwowego. Opracowanie zawiera analizę wypowiedzi narracyjnych dziesięciorga dzieci w wieku od siódmego do siedemnastego roku życia. Przedmiotem oceny była makrostruktura opowiadań zrealizowanych przez uczestników badania.
    The study presents a fragment of my own research conducted since 2017 on speech and language disorders recorded in children and adolescents with anatomical and/or functional changes within the central nervous system (CNS). The following study analyzes the narrative statements of ten people aged 7 to 17. The subject of the assessment was the macrostructure of the stories completed by the participants.

    The level of development of language, communication and cultural competence ofchildren with speech and language development disorders resulting from structural and/orfunctional changes in brain is insufficient even after many years of regular speech therapy(Grabias, 2001). The article focuses on behavior which all of children with such disorders compensatein communications process for deficiencies in their language skills development. Theresearch material was collected during a logopaedic diagnostic procedure. The basis for analysiswas a test checking individual production of: nouns, verbs and adjectives.

    Opis:
    One of the characteristic symptoms of speech and language disorders arising from anatomical injuries and/or CNS dysfunctions is the diffi culty in foregrounding the correct form of words. In the process of rehabilitation of children with cortical disorders, it is necessary to take special measures to elicit utterances. This study presents methods permitting easier and quicker recollection of the expected semantic, sound and articulatory, and grammatical form of a word in a given context.

    Speech delay and developmental aphasia are units of abnormal speech and language development in a small child. Their fi rst symptoms can appear as early as at the beginning of the linguistic development, i.e. ca. at the age of 1, and can be quite similar. Differentiating between such units not seldom requires a long and meticulous speech assessment and a systematic observation of speech and language development dynamics in a child during the improvement process. It is a difficult task in particular for young and inexperienced speech therapists who are at the beginning of their career. This paper presents certain tips which could enable a more precise and correct diagnosis of children’s linguistic and extra-linguistic behaviours that are characteristic of such units.

    W opracowaniu prezentuję proces logopedycznej diagnozy przeprowadzony u dziewięcioletniego chłopca z zespołem padaczkowym Landaua- Kleffnera. Jego celem było sformułowanie rozpoznania nieprawidłowości obserwowanych u dziecka. Podjęte działania miały charakter kliniczny. Polegały one przede wszystkim na  rejestracji charakterystycznych zachowań werbalnych i pozajęzykowych dziecka oraz ustaleniu podstaw biopsychicznych  rozwoju jego mowy. Przeprowadzone próby przyjęły formę badania całościowego i zostały opisane w sposób jakościowy. W procesie precyzowania diagnozy podjęto również próbę oceny poziomu kompetencji językowej dziecka w sposób ilościowy przy użyciu Testu Rozwoju Językowego - TRJ. Uzyskane wyniki pozwoliły na sformułowanie refleksji dotyczącej zastosowanych w diagnozie narzędzi.
    In this study, I present the process of speech therapy diagnosis carried out in a nine-year-old boy with Landau-Kleffner epilepsy syndrome. Its aim was to formulate a diagnosis of abnormalities observed in the child. The actions taken were of a clinical nature. They consisted primarily in recording the child's characteristic verbal and non-linguistic behaviors and establishing the biopsychological basis for the development of his speech. The tests carried out took the form of a comprehensive study and were described in a qualitative manner. In the process of specifying the diagnosis, an attempt was also made to assess the child's level of language competence in a quantitative manner using the Language Development Test - TRJ. The obtained results allowed for the formulation of a reflection on the tools used in the diagnosis.

    Gradual, yet constant, changes in the Polish society, which is fairly uniform in terms of culture and unilingual, have been observable in recent years. As a consequence of migratory fl ows, which have covered virtually the whole of Europe, Polish speech therapists (and other specialists) working, among others, in educational establishments, learning disability services, and private practices increasingly often meet non-Polish speaking children and parents. The growing number of such experiences gives rise e.g. to the need to determine a diagnostic procedure standard for such children. This paper is aimed to present selected considerations and challenges regarding the development of a speech therapy standard for bilingual children.

    This article presents a discussion on the results of the research on the staccato phonation conducted as part of the pilot study intended to establish phonation time norms in Polish-speaking adults. The analysed data were excerpted from a selected group of 12 women. Statistical analyses served the purpose of identifying potential differences between the results of tasks concerning the staccato phonation of selected Polish sounds, the staccato phonation and the legato phonation, and determining the correlation between staccato and other language tasks. The interpretation of the results of the research as proposed in the text refers to the observations regarding the task performance method, e.g. differences in the duration of pauses in the language tasks compared to the staccato phonation tasks, diversities related to the sound realisation time and method in the language tasks and in the staccato phonation task.
