Opis:
In this paper, a comprehensive study is carried out on the dynamic behaviour of Euler–Bernoulli and Timoshenko beams resting on Winkler type variable elastic foundation. The material properties of the beam and the stiffness of the foundation are considered to be varying along the length direction. The free vibration problem is formulated using Rayleigh-Ritz method and Hamilton’s principle is applied to generate the governing equations. The results are presented as non-dimensional natural frequencies for different material gradation models and different foundation stiffness variation models. Two distinct boundary conditions viz., clamped-clamped and simply supported-simply supported are considered in the analysis. The results are validated with existing literature and excellent agreement is observed between the results.

Opis:
This paper describes the long-term noise monitoring data for ten consecutive years (2011–2020) acquired from the diversified National Ambient Noise Monitoring Network (NANMN) set up across 7 major cities of India and consisting of 70 stations for continuous noise monitoring throughout the year. The annual average ambient noise levels observed throughout these ten years in 70 locations under study, including 25 locations in commercial zones, 12 in industrial, 16 in residential, and 17 in silence zones, are described. The noise scenario in these ten years is compared and analyzed. It is observed that no site in residential or silence zones meets the ambient noise limits for the past ten years. The study suggests guidelines for a policy framework for environmental noise management and control to regulate noise pollution in Indian cities.

Opis:
The quality specifications for products such as wire rods produced by the steel industry are becoming ever more demanding. This demand has led to achieve uniform product quality at high production speeds. As a result, there is a need for the systems that operate in real time and continuously measure cross-section profile of the rods and detect if any change or deviation from the desired behaviour in their cross-section. To reach this goal, a laser-based computer-controlled technology provides a useful solution. In this paper, a high speed, low cost and high accuracy non-contact laser-based measuring system has been proposed and developed using a STM32 microcontroller. The system can measure the thickness of solid, non-transparent wire rods using the linear charged-coupled sensor and sent to a microcontroller unit to further analyse and continuously display the cross-sectional profile in real time. Any deviation in the dimension over the length of the wire along with its position with respect to starting of the wire can be detected in real time. The designed and developed system has capability of measurement accuracies and respectabilities to the micrometre level.

atypical angiofibroma
extra nasopharyngeal (ENA) oropharynx
Opis:
Introduction. Angiofibroma is a benign, locally aggressive highly vascular tumor that typically affects young adolescent males and has a pathognomonic epicenter of origin in the nasopharynx. The atypical angiofibromas share the same histological features as that of Juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma, however they differ significantly in their clinical features. Aim. Here we are reporting a very rare case of atypical angiofibroma in an adult male presenting as a non-vascular mass in the oropharynx with posterior pillar as the subsite. Description of the case. A 26-years old male patient presented with chief complaints of foreign body sensation and mass in throat for one and a half months which was gradually progressive in size. Histopathological examination revealed a lesion with an intricate mixture of blood vessels, irregular fibrous stroma with loose edematous and fibrous area along with multinucleated stromal cells which was suggestive of angiofibroma. Conclusion. Oropharyngeal angiofibroma, being an atypical angiofibroma in terms of site and presenting complaints, presents a diagnostic challenge. Though rare, it should always be kept as a differential diagnosis in any oropharyngeal mass irrespective of its vascularity, typical age or sex of the patient.
