Opowieść o własnym Domu w śródmiejskim warszawskim domu wielorodzinnym na Hożej zaczęła się w 1973 roku. Od nierealnych i dlatego medialnych wizji studialnych zatytułowanych „Skansen – Centrum”, przez założenie solidarnościowej spółdzielni mieszkaniowej pracowników Politechniki Warszawskiej w 1985 roku. Projekt wykonany został w pracowni na Wydziale Architektury i doprowadził do budowy kolonii mieszkaniowej w zwartej zabudowie śródmiejskiej ze 180 indywidualnie projektowanymi mieszkaniami, 4 zielonymi, pieszymi dziedzińcami i podziemnym parkingiem dla 150 samochodów. Od 1990 roku mieszkamy w prawdziwej, koleżeńskiej wspólnocie, a okolica wokół odżyła dziesiątkami restauracji i kawiarni. Jest tak, jak było w mojej wizji z 1973 roku. Motto z Bottona okazało się realne.
The story about my own Home in a downtown multifamily residential (building) in Warsaw began at Hoża street in 1973. At first there were unrealistic and therefore media-based study visions, titled “Open-air museum – Centre”, subsequently in 1985 a (solidarity) housing cooperative was established by the employees of Warsaw University of Technology, a project which was completed within the studio of the Faculty of Architecture, and finally it all ended up in a housing estate in a compact downtown (housing) development with 180 individually designed apartments, 4 green, pedestrian courtyards and an underground parking for 150 cars. From 1990 we have lived in a real, friendly community, whereas the neighbourhood revived thanks to tens of restaurants and cafes. The situation now seems similar to that of my vision from 1973. Botton’s motto turned to be real.

W artykule przedstawiono rozwiązanie konstrukcyjne monolitycznego żelbetowego zbiornika wydzielonej komory fermentacyjnej na ścieki. Przeprowadzono analizę statyczną metodą elementów skończonych modelu obliczeniowego zbiornika i dokonano porównania sił wewnętrznych w elementach konstrukcyjnych zbiornika.
In the article the structural solution of a monolithic reinforced concrete tank to separate waste water digester is presented. Analysis of static finite element of the calculation model of the tank was performed and a comparison of internal forces in the structural elements of the tank was made.

Opis:
Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and other dementive diseases currently pose an important social problem. High brain atrophy level is one of the most important symptoms of these disorders, but it also may result from normal ageing processes. The purpose of the presented research is to design methods that support detection of dementia symptoms in radiological images. The proposed framework consists of image registration procedure, brain extraction and tissue segmentation and the exact analysis of image series (fractal and volumetric properties).

Dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) is a relatively new, promising technique for breast cancer diagnostics. A few series of images of the same body region are rapidly acquired before, during and after injection of paramagnetic contrast agent. Propagation of the contrast agent causes modification of MR signal over time. Its analysis provides information on tissue properties, including tumour status, that is not available with the regular MRI. Unintentional patient's movements during the examination result with incorrect alignment of the consecutive image series. Their analysis is then difficult, inaccurate or even impossible. The purpose of this work is to design a registration scheme that could be applied to solve the problem in a routine manner, in standard hospital conditions. The proposed registration framework, composed of B-spline transformation, mean squares metric and LBFGSB optimizer, is able to produce satisfactory results within reasonable time.

Wooden roof coverings are one of the oldest technical solutions, used over the centuries. As industry and new technologies developed, they were marginalised, until - in the end of the 20th century - they became a niche product without any economic significance, used locally, as a vernacular tradition in some regions, sometimes on economic grounds. Together with the marginalisation of wood shingle coverings, the tradition of transferring craft knowledge about shingles and shingle laying techniques was abandoned. This is one of the reasons why shingles were considered a regional product, with little economic significance and which requires no standardisation procedures. Increasing awareness of the impact of environmental conditions on the quality of life, the trend of contact with nature and with its least processed materials has resulted in an unexpected growth of interest in ancient house finishing techniques, which applied not only to wooden houses (which had been in vogue already a few years earlier). Investors are now willing to use traditional materials and techniques, but only those which, apart from having qualities proven over centuries, e.g. regarding their appearance, can meet their expectations as regards current standards for the safety of use, durability and the principles of quality verification. In the course of the development in the Building Research Institute of the proposals for the rules of verification of shingle quality and the principles of installing roof coverings made of wood shingles, current standards and regulations have been considered. This paper consists of two parts. Part 1 includes a proposal of shingle type classification and our proposal for the requirements with which wood shingles produced and used in modern construction shall comply. In Part 2, the rules of laying wood shingle roofing are proposed.
Artykuł składa się z dwu części. W cz. 1 podaje propozycje kryteriów oceny właściwości gontów drewnianych z określonych gatunków drewna zaś w cz. 2 propozycje zasad wykonywania pokryć dachowych. Zarówno zasady dotyczące gontów jak i pokryć dachowych z nich wykonanych opracowano uwzględniając wymagania Prawa budowalnego i Rozporządzeń w sprawie deklarowania właściwości użytkowych wyrobów budowlanych.

A variety of network management systems is commercially available. However, their applicability for computer networking laboratories that are used for scientific, educational or engineering purposes (in particular, as a test environment for network-based software engineering) is limited. Also dedicated remote access systems do not offer enough flexibility. Major challenges are discussed in the paper. Most of the proposed solutions have been already implemented and tested.

Magnetostrictive effect is connected with changes of the dimension of soft magnetic materials during the process of theirs magnetization. The paper presents newly developed measuring systems for testing of the strain distribution in the magnetostrictive materials. The system uses simultaneously two measurement techniques: strain-gauge sensor for local strain measurement and grating interferometry for the global determination of strain distribution.

Main role of this article is presentation, in a very short way, most important results of over two years of work board of experts from two universities, two clinical hospitals, city hall and also medical software and hardware suppliers. As a main purpose of strategy improvement of health care level in region was set. This aim will be achieved by telemedical infrastructure development, creation and implementation of procedures and instant training of staff. Strategy is focused on three main aspects. First one groups medical projects, second infrastructure project and third one is regional centre of coordination. In medical area proposed changes are mainly focused on telemedical support for emergency services, remote medical consultations and complex home monitoring of patients. Main solution for infrastructure assumes creation of integrated information system for hospitals and emergency units. I this part of the strategy selection of the proper standards for data storing and exchange. Probably one of the best choices is OpenEHR. Last part is centre of cooperation which consists of coordination centre of telemedical services, telemedical projects management unit, and training facility.
