Opis:
In this paper the optimization methods to reduce undesirable effects in time-domain pre-emphasis techniques are described. In the first case the application of data-dependent method for pulse-width modulated (PWM) pre-emphasis to reduce additional jitter at output data stream is shown. Consequently, new signaling scheme based on using of raised cosine approximation to crosstalk reduction is proposed and analyzed. The time-domain pre-distortion method provides an alternative to FIR (finite impulse response) pre-emphasis with advantages in the light of developments in modern CMOS scaling. The PWM pre-emphasis method is able to compensate higher channel losses than the conventional FIR method. However additional high-frequency noise which is typical for strong amount of PWM pre-emphasis can caused system crosstalk susceptibility. Our research is primary focused on optimization of the conventional PWM scheme to reduce harmonic high frequency component. It can be solution for system where near-end crosstalk is problem. Finally, simulation results in MathCAD and Agilent ADS environment are shown.

Opis:
This paper attempts to replicate a safety climate model originally tested in Australia to assess its applicability in a different context: namely, across production workers in 22 medium-sized metal processing organizations in Austria. The model postulates that safety knowledge and safety motivation mediate the relation between safety climate on the one hand and safety compliance and participation on the other. Self-report data from 1075 employees were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The results of the replication study largely confirmed the original safety climate model. However, in addition to indirect effects, direct links between safety climate and actual safety behavior were found.

Opis:
The ability of a newly developed independent passive optical system OPTIMEX to measure the detonation front curvature is demonstrated on charges of pressed explosive A-IX-1 (RDX/ceresin-stearin mixture with 95/5 wt.%). The charges, with length to diameter ratios of from one to four, were prepared from cylinders with diameters of 21 mm, 30 mm, 40 mm and 50 mm pressed to a density of 1.66 g/cm3. Such charges detonate with a velocity of 8220 m/s. The detonation curvature was obtained using 8 optical fibers and the results were compared with photographs acquired by an ultra-high speed framing camera UHSi 12/24.

Opis:
Detonation velocity (VOD) is one of the most important parameters describing the detonation process of a particular explosive. This article summarizes some peculiarities that we have come across when building and testing our new passive optical VOD meter – OPTIMEX. The advantages of using multiple probes with independent signal recording is discussed. The practical issues related to an explosive’s translucency are solved. Finally, a new method for detonation velocity data evaluation is proposed and demonstrated.
