Opis:
Same problems of small and medium food marketing enterprise have been presented. The authors have shown results of an investigation made in nine firms, their resourses, major adjustment decisions, especially in the form of outsourcing, and their economic results.
W opracowaniu przedstawione wybrane zagadnienia dotyczące funkcjonowania małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw uczestniczących w handlu produktami żywnościowymi. Zaprezentowano wyniki badań przeprowadzonych w dziewięciu przedsiębiorstwach, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem ich zasobów, głównych działań dostosowawczych, w tym dokonanych w ramach outsourcingu, a także wyniki ekonomiczne tych przedsiębiorstw.

W artykule omówiony został stan techniczny infrastruktury kolejowej w Polsce i przedstawiona została klasyfikacja usterek powodujących występowanie opóźnień pociągów na sieci linii kolejowych. Zestawiono również dane statystyczne za ostatnie 3 lata dotyczące liczby i wielkości występowania opóźnień, których przyczyną były usterki występujące w torze kolejowym. Omówiono także wpływ usterek związanych z elementami toru kolejowego na prowadzenie ruchu pociągów.
The article presents the technical condition of railway infrastructure in Poland and the classification of defects causing the appearance of trains delays on railway network. The statistical data for the last 3 years on the number and values of delays caused by defects in the railway track have also been summarized. It was also described the impact of defects railway track superstructure elements on the railway operations.

W pracy określono wpływ procesu wędzenia wyrobów otrzymanych z mięsa wieprzowego o różnej jakości początkowej na zawartość wielopierścieniowych węglowodorów aromatycznych. Dokonano oznaczenia zawartości WWA w wyrobach wędliniarskich grubo- i drobnorozdrobnionych (kiełbasy szynkowe, parówki), przed (farsze) i po procesie wędzenia (wyroby gotowe). Do produkcji wyrobów użyto mięsa o zróżnicowanym profilu kwasów tłuszczowych, co wynikało ze stosowania różnego źródła tłuszczu w żywieniu tuczników. Oznaczono i zidentyfikowano 21 WWA, a szczególnej analizie poddano zawartość bezno[a]pirenu, chryzenu, benzo[a]antracenu oraz benzo[b]fluorantenu. Stwierdzono, że proces wędzenia wyrobów wędliniarskich przyczynia się do wzrostu zawartości poszczególnych WWA w ilości od ok. 22 do 40 % w stosunku do zawartości w produktach przed wędzeniem. Wykazano także, że rodzaj tłuszczu dodawanego do paszy tuczników, od których pozyskiwano mięso jako surowiec do produkcji wyrobów wędliniarskich, istotnie wpływał na ilość i rodzaj WWA zawartych w wyrobach gotowych. Stosowanie w paszach tuczników oleju lnianego i rybiego przyczyniło się do zmiany profilu kwasów tłuszczowych w mięsie, co z kolei sprzyjało powstawaniu większej ogólnej ilości WWA, w tym tzw. WWA ciężkich. Zawartość benzo[a]pirenu w badanych wyrobach nie przekraczała granicznej wartości 5 μg/kg, a suma czterech WWA z grupy tzw. ciężkich nie przekroczyła obowiązującej wartości 30 μg/kg, co świadczy o właściwie dobranych parametrach wędzenia.
Under the research study, the effect was determined of the process of smoking meat products from meat of different initial quality on the content of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). The amount of PAHs was determined in coarse-and fine-minced cured meat products (ham sausages, ‘bockwurst’ type sausages) before they were smoked (forcemeat) and after the completed smoking process (final products). Meats of different fatty acid profiles were used to produce meat products; their fatty acid profiles differed, because fat from different fat sources was utilized to feed porkers. 21 different types of PAHs were determined and identified, and the contents of bezno[a]pyreneand, chrysene, benzo[a]anthracene, and benzo[ b]fluoranthene) were particularly accurately analysed. It was found that the smoking of meat products contributed to the increase in the content of individual PAH from ca. 22 to 40 % compared to their contents in the products before smoking. It was also proved that the type of fat added to fodders for porkers used, next, as a raw material to produce cured meat products, significantly impacted the amount and type of PAHs in final meat products. The addition of linseed oil and fish oil in fodders for porkers contributed to the change in the fatty acid profile of meat; this fact encouraged the formation of a higher total amount of PAHs including the so-called heavy PAHs. The content of B[a]P in the products analysed did not exceed the limit value of 5 μg/kg, and the total of 4 PAHs from the ‘heavy group’ did not exceed the enforced, compulsory value of 30 μg/kg; this confirmed that the smoking parameters chosen were appropriate.

Opis:
The main features of the Cloud Computing system developed at IFJ PAN are described. The project is financed from the structural resources provided by the European Commission and the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education (Innovative Economy, National Cohesion Strategy). The system delivers a solution for carrying out computer calculations on a Private Cloud computing infrastructure. It consists of an intuitive Web based user interface, a module for the users and resources administration and the standard EC2 interface implementation. Thanks to the distributed character of the system it allows for the integration of a geographically distant federation of computer clusters within a uniform user environment.

Opis:
The conception of sustainable development has been implemented into practice in numerous economic sectors, including forestry. Forest ecosystems are extremely important in the global ecological system, therefore maintenance and appropriate management of forest resources according to sustainable development principles have engaged a great deal of attention. The concept of sustainable forest management (SFM) encompasses three dimensions: ecological, economic and social. A powerful tool to promote SFM are criteria and indicators. The aim of the article was evaluation of SFM in Poland, using one of the methods proposed by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). According to data available, Polish forestry has a number of advantages: Poland has avoided the problem of deforestation, forest area has been permanently increasing, there has been observed improvement of forest health and vitality as well as a significant share of forests has carried out protective functions with no impact on timber production. Poland’s model of SFM is an adaptive process of balancing the ever-changing set of economic, environmental and social expectations. Such a complicated undertaking requires constant assessing and adjusting forest practices, in response to new circumstances, scientific advances and societal input.

Stres w pracy zawodowej jest czynnikiem ryzyka nadciśnienia tętniczego i choroby niedokrwiennej serca. Sprzyja też rozwojowi cukrzycy i otyłości. Słabo znany jest wpływ obciążeń psychospołecznych na stan zdrowia systematycznie leczonych pacjentów z przewlekłymi chorobami układu krążenia i przemiany materii. W badaniach własnych, którymi objęto pacjentów wykonujących zawodowo pracę wymagającą podejmowania odpowiedzialnych decyzji, koncentracji uwagi i powodującą napięcie emocjonalne, wykazano (na podstawie 24-godzinnych zapisów EKG i ciśnienia tętniczego) występowania znacznych wzrostów ciśnienia tętniczego, arytmii serca i epizodów niedokrwienia mięśnia sercowego, pomimo regularnego przyjmowania leków. Zmiany występowały częściej w czasie dni pracy określanych przez badanych jako stresogenne. U chorych na cukrzycę stwierdzono podwyższone stężenie glukozy we krwi w godzinach największej aktywności zawodowej.
Job strain is a risk factor for hypertension and coronary heart disease. It can also contribute to the development of diabetes and obesity. Little is known about the effect of psycho-social factors and especially occupational stress on the health status of regularly medicated patients with chronic cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. An analysis of 24-hour registration of ECG and blood pressure in patients engaged in jobs with high mental demands and extensive responsibility showed that during „stressful” days in many of them large increases in blood pressure, ischemic changes in ECG, cardiac arrhythmias occurred in spite of pharmacological treatment. Some diabetic patients also showed high levels blood glucose during the most active part of the working day.

The paper presents results of hearing loss measurements provided for 81 young people (from 16 to 25 years old). The main aim of the work was to find the influence of headphones of the types used (closed, semi-open, open and in-ear) on the hearing losses. The first part of the research was to answer questions about the influence of: time of listening, loudness of music, other noise exposures as well as the type of the headphones used. It turned out that all factors mentioned above influence thresholds of hearing but the found dependencies are not explicit. The greatest hearing losses were observed for people who work as sound reinforcement engineers and, moreover, no influence of the headphone types was found for them. It turned out that the use of in-ear headphones causes the greatest hearing losses for some subjects (thresholds shifted up to about 20 dB HL at 4 kHz). The daily time of a listening also affected the hearing thresholds. It was found that for users of in-ear and close headphones, an average time of musical exposure of three hours causes the hearing loss of 10-15 dB HL at higher frequencies. The use of open as well as semi-open headphones has no influence on the hearing damage. Thus it would be stated that these kinds are safety in use. Almost 15% of the investigated young people have their thresholds shifted up at higher frequencies, particularly at 4 kHz, which means that they have the first symptoms of a permanent hearing damage.

Opis:
Research in termoacoustics began with the observation of the heat transfer between gas and solids. Using this interaction the intense sound wave could be applied to create engines and heat pumps. The most important part of thermoacoustic devices is a regenerator, where press of conversion of sound energy into thermal or vice versa takes place. In a heat pump the acoustic wave produces the temperature difference at the two ends of the regenerator. The aim of the paper is to find the influence of the material used for the construction of a regenerator on the properties of a thermoacoustic heat pump. Modern technologies allow us to create new materials with physical properties necessary to increase the temperature gradient on the heat exchangers. The aim of this paper is to create a regenerator which strongly improves the efficiency of the heat pump.
