The press fulfills an important role if it comes to culture, it also influences public opinion, therefore, it can be an important tool in forming the view of society according to the problems of degradation and protection of the natural environment, the aim of this article is to estimate engagement of the regional press on the example of lubelskie province, the hypothesis is that the regional daily press in lubelskie province leads informal environmental education, however, they do not use their potential and means in order to form pro-ecological attitudes and opinions among its readers, the results of the research have shown that the number of articles about nature has systematically increased comparing to other thematic ranges, which is a very positive fact. However, the texts which are sensational and do not touch the problem still prevail in the press, there are not enough articles that present the natural environment as a value that should be protected because of economic, spiritual, healthy, and esthetic reasons. Taking into account that the problems connected with degradation and protection of nature ought to be treated as a priority, the local press should involve in environmental education much stronger, they can get through to the readers by interesting and convincing articles, and contribute to the improvement of the natural environment.

The aim of this research was to evaluate the educational offers of agrotourist farms in the Siedlce region, the research was conducted on the grounds of interviews with the farm owners and information provided by Mazowiecki Ośrodek Doradztwa Rolnieczego “Mazowsze - agrotourism 2005/2006”.The results confirm the assumption that agrotourist farms carry on an informal environmental education for their customers, but there are possibilities for improvement of this educational activity, the farm owners need appropriate preparation to fulfill the role of guides and teachers.

Access to information about the state of environment and action taken by local government on its behalf is an important element influencing participation of citizens of rural areas.The aim of this research was to check if the local government of the chosen communes of East Mazowsze makes it possible for the citizens to gain access to information using the internet. 58 internet sites of the chosen communes of East Mazowsze were analysed, the research showed big differences in the use of internet as to the contents and technical abilities of said communes, they do not fully utilize the possibility to publish information on the internet and with that the ability to communicate with the others.

Environmental education, frequently referred to as ecological education, is commonly associated with the description and shaping of human rela¬tionships with the natural environment. It points to the examples of anthro¬pocentric transformation of nature and the consequences thereof. Deeper analysis leads to the conclusion that the existing emphasis of environmental education was on natural aspects, while neglecting no less important social issues, including human health. This article is devoted to demonstrating the interrelationships and dependencies of environmental education and preventive healthcare, from definition through to various activities and finally effects. The article clearly promotes being active, highlighting the importance of being involved in the development of gardens, which are important both in terms of the protection of the natural environment, through the development and diversification of the landscape, and in the maintenance of good physical and mental condition. In summary, the article puts forward the notion that in going through life, it is worthwhile to really care about one’s health and the natural environment, especially since one is dependent on the other

Opis:
This article looks at school gardens and their importance in the environmental education of children and young people at all levels, including elementary, junior and senior high schools. !e authors raise the question as to whether, in today’s information-driven world, schools should continue to teach biology using natural samples such as the plants and animals available in the school garden, or whether they can be replaced by electronic means (e.g. a computer application), without negatively affecting eduacational quality. In answering this question, they come down resoundingly in favour of retaining the school garden as an essential and fundamental educational tool, which will never lose its relevance and use in the teaching of science. The authors suggest readdressing the existing de$nition of what a school garden is, so that all teachers will come to understand that, regardless of whether the school is located in an urban environment or in the countryside, its natural environment can always be used in teaching of biology and nature sciences and should therefore be defined as a school garden.

his article analyzes Pope Francis’s encyclical Laudato Si’. This analysis has been conducted with focus on how axiology and deontology of agriculture are considered in the Pope’s work. Numerous quotations from the encyclical have been included in the article to objectively present the Pope’s idea. The article primarily emphasizes these parts of the encyclical which discuss the complex genesis of the ecological crisis, having its roots in the moral downfall of men, destruction of interpersonal relationships, and breaking the bond with God. The article also shows the results of surveys carried out among farmers to demonstrate the state of ecological awareness in this professional group, as awareness plays a significant role in the implementation of Pope’s ideas on the grounds of agricultural practice. The article concludes that there still is hope and a chance are to stop the ecological crisis, but this would require a change in behavior and a limitation of technocratic thinking and consumptionism as well as replacing conformism with an active life, lived in line with the Gospel.
Artykuł jest efektem analizy tekstu encykliki Ojca Świętego Franciszka, zatytułowanej Laudato si’. Analizę przeprowadzono pod kątem uwzględnienia, w tym papieskim dokumencie zapisów dotyczących rolniczej aksjologii i deontologii. Dążąc do obiektywnego przedstawienia myśli papieża, w artykule zamieszczono wiele cytatów zaczerpniętych z encykliki. Interpretując myśli trudno bowiem ustrzec się subiektywnego spojrzenia, wynikającego chociażby z zainteresowań badaczy, sposobu rozumienia i interpretacji tekstu, emocji towarzyszących lekturze. W artykule zwrócono uwagę przede wszystkim na te fragmenty papieskiej encykliki, które wskazują na złożoną genezę kryzysu ekologicznego, mającego główne przyczyny w moralnym upadku człowieka, zniszczeniu interpersonalnych relacji i zerwaniu jego więzi z Bogiem. W artykule zamieszczono wyniki badań ankietowych przeprowadzonych wśród rolników, aby wskazać na stan świadomości ekologicznej tej grupy zawodowej, co jest istotne we wdrażaniu do praktyki rolniczej myśli zawartych w encyklice. W podsumowaniu stwierdzono, że jest jeszcze nadzieja i są szanse na zażegnanie kryzysu ekologicznego, ale wymaga to zmiany filozofii postępowania i ograniczenia w życiu ludzi technokratycznego myślenia, konsumpcyjnego nastawienia i zastąpienia konformizmu aktywnym życiem, prowadzonym zgodnie z Ewangelią.
