    Transport infrastructure plays a vital role in the economic development of the country. The increase in passenger and freight transport increases the demand for quality and quantity infrastructure. The purpose of this article is to provide guidelines for improving the efficiency of road network management in Poland. The importance of modern telematics technology in the management of the existing road networks and the need for cooperation of transport infrastructure management bodies have been pointed out.

    Metropolis logistics is a new research issue that begins to play an important role in shaping inter-organizational relationships. The concept of logistics in metropolitan context is a contemporary term used primarily to identify issues that will improve the transformation of products and information in building inter-organizational efficiency. On the one hand, the issues of metropolitan logistics are based on shaping the flow of products and information in building inter-organizational efficiency. On the other hand, the formation of inter-organizational bonds has a complex and multidimensional structure that creates a specific network of interactions, in which metropolitan logistics determines their development in relation to the environment. The aim of the article is to identify the conditions that build up inter-organizational relations within the Silesian-Zagłębie (Ś-Z) metropolitan area. The article presents selected results of exploratory research carried out among logistic entities operating in the Silesian-Zagłębie metropolitan area. The authors attempted to answer the question: what are the challenges ahead of metropolitan logistics in shaping interorganizational relationships?

    W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badania zróżnicowania 41 gmin tworzonego związku metropolitalnego w województwie śląskim. Zestawiono stosowne dane oraz wykorzystano taksonomiczną metodę różnic przeciętnych (od nazwiska jej twórcy nazywaną metodą Czekanowskiego). Wykorzystano wskaźniki opisujące gęstość zaludnienia, dochody gmin oraz nasycenie usługami transportu zbiorowego. Wyznaczono w ten sposób cztery grupy miast w tworzonej metropolii, z których trzy (21 miast) tworzą spójny, zurbanizowany obszar, natomiast pozostałe mają w stosunku do nich charakter stref podmiejskich. Wyniki badań przedstawione w artykule są punktem wyjścia do projektowania rozwiązań z zakresu oferty przewozowej, integracji oraz zasad finansowania zadań przyszłego związku metropolitalnego.
    The paper presents the results of the study on the differentiation of 41 municipalities of metropolitan union which is currently being established in the Silesian Voivodeship. The differentiation analysis is based on the taxonomic method of average differences (called the Czekanowski’s method from the name of its author) and collected indicators describing the population density, municipal income and the density of public transport services. Among all 41 municipalities four groups of cities were determined, three of which – 21 cities – create a coherent urbanised area, while the rest of them are rather suburban areas. The results of the study presented in this article are the starting point for designing solutions for the public transport planning, integration and financing of future metropolitan union tasks.

    W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań zachowań mobilnościowych klasy kreatywnej przeprowadzonych w aglomeracjach: warszawskiej, gdańskiej i katowickiej. Analizowano także preferencje komunikacyjne klasy kreatywnej. Na podstawie wyników przeprowadzonych badań sformułowano wnioski o znaczeniu teoretycznym i praktycznym. Klasa kreatywna jest skłonna do odejścia od samochodów, jednak oczekuje wzrostu jakości publicznego transportu zbiorowego – przede wszystkim dostępności. Wyniki badań klasy kreatywnej należy wykorzystać w kreowaniu polityki transportowej w metropoliach.
    The article presents the results of studies on mobility behaviors of the creative class carried out in the agglomerations of Warsaw, Gdańsk and Katowice. Creative class mobility and transport preferences have also been analyzed. Theoretical and practical conclusions were presented on the basis of the results of the conducted research. The creative class is willing to resign from cars but expects an increase in the quality of public transport first of all accessibility is required. The results of creative class research should be applied when creating transport policy in metropolises.
