    The object of the contribution is the action-type-related, synonymous and antonymous variance of the idioms of the type “in der Klemme sein”, which is thematized against the background of the traditional phraseological and construction-grammatical approaches in phraseology. The idioms are compiled in their macroparadigms and examined with regard to the formation mechanisms (construction patterns/templates) of the action type related variants, synonymous and antonymous pairs. The goal of the paper is to identify the design patterns (construction patterns, templates) present within the macro paradigms. The conceptualizations and descriptive entities of traditional phraseology underlying the paper: micro- and macroparadigms, character fields, model formations/phraseotemplates, synonymous and antonymous pairs, synonymous phraseological series appear compatible with the tools of construction grammar, in particular with the entities of construction and construction pattern and the mechanism of coining. Thanks to the consideration of the language as a whole (language system in its entirety) and the orientation towards cross-level (lexis-syntax-semantics) and at the same time systematic changes, construction grammar provides a favorable theoretical framework for the description of the paradigmatically conditioned variance of idioms.

    Opis:
    Das Ziel des Beitrags ist es, Zusammenhänge zwischen den Einfachen Formen im Sinne von André Jolles‘ und dem Begriff der Lebendigkeit von Idiomen aufzuzeigen und demnächst die Lebendigkeit der idiomatischen Einheiten zu untersuchen. Die Lebendigkeit der Idiome, ein linguistisches Konzept, das die mentale Präsenz und die Gebräuchlichkeit der Idiome umfasst, erscheint kompatibel mit solchen Elementen des Konzepts der Einfachen Formen wie sprachliche Gebärde, Vergegenwärtigung (Sprichwort – Redensart), Stetigkeit und Vielfältigkeit (Varianten, Modifikationen), Geistesbeschäftigung. Unter Einfachen Formen werden der Mythos, das Sprichwort und die sprichwörtliche Redensart (Idiom) angesprochen. Nach einer Charakteristik der Idiome mythologischer Herkunft im Deutschen wird am Beispiel des Idioms zwischen Szylla und Charybdis und formell-inhaltlich zusammenhängenden Formen die Lebendigkeit dieser Idiome im 19. und im 20.-21. Jh. untersucht. Die Untersuchung ist lexikographisch und korpuslinguistisch gestützt.
    The aim of this article is to demonstrate the relationship between Simple Forms as understood by André Jolles and the notion of the liveliness of idioms and then to investigate the liveliness of idiomatic units. The liveliness of idioms, a linguistic concept that includes the mental presence and usability of idioms, appears compatible with such elements of the concept of Simple Forms as verbal gesture, actualization (proverb – idiom), continuity and multiplicity (variants, modifications), mental occupation. The myth, the proverb and the proverbial saying (idiom) are addressed under Simple Forms. After a characterisation of the idioms of mythological origin in German, the example of the idiom between Szylla and Charybdis and its variants illustrates the liveliness of the idioms in the 19th and 20th-21st centuries. The study is lexicographically and corpus-linguistically based.
    Celem niniejszego artykułu jest wykazanie związków między Prostymi Formami w rozumieniu André Jollesa i pojęciem żywotności idiomów a następnie zbadanie żywotności form idiomatycznych. Żywotność idiomów, jako pojęcie językowe obejmujące obecność mentalną u użytkowników języka i użycie idiomów, okazuje się kompatybilne z takimi elementami koncepcji Prostych Form André Jollesa, jak gest językowy, aktualizacja, ciągłość i różnorodność Prostych Form, zajęcie umysłowe. Spośród Prostych Form omówiono mit, przysłowie i wyrażenie przysłowiowe. Scharakteryzowano idiomy pochodzenia mitologicznego w języku niemieckim a na przykładzie idiomu między Scyllą a Charybdą oraz form strukturalnie i znaczeniowo pokrewnych zbadano żywotność tych form idiomatycznych w XIX i XX-XXI wieku. Badanie opiera się na weryfikacji źródeł leksykograficznych i korpusów językowych.

    Der Beitrag enthält einen theoretischen und methodologischen Umriss der interdisziplinären Untersuchungen der Phraseologie, in dem wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse der Etymologie und Kultursemiotik integriert werden. Das angebotene Modell platziert Phraseologismen in den Kontext der sprachhistorischen Recherche, die eins der größten Defizite der aktuellen Phraseologieforschung bildet. Die dargestellte Methodologie umfasst auch komparative interlinguale Forschungsaspekte.
    The paper contains a theoretical and methodological outline of research into phraseology which integrates evaluations of etymology and the semiotics of culture. The research model presented places the phraseological units in the context of the historical research of language which is one of the most remarkable deficits in the contemporary research into phraseology. The methodology presented covers also some comparative interlingual aspects.
    Artykuł zawiera zarys teoretyczny i metodologiczny badań interdyscyplinarnych nad frazeologią, integrujący rozpoznania naukowe etymologii i semiotyki kultury. Opisywany model plasuje frazeologizmy w kontekście badań historycznojęzykowych, które stanowią jeden z najdotkliwszych deficytów współczesnej frazeologii. Przedstawiona metodologia obejmuje także komparatywne aspekty interlingualne.

    The paper deals with selected hyperbolic verbal phrasemes of German and their formation mechanisms. Hyperbolic metaphor and hyperbole are present as semantic-rhetorical foundations of the formation of the studied phrasemes and are not only based on semantic-syntactic combinations within the phraseological components, but also on corresponding cognitive structures (metaphor models and metonymies). Both types of operations are explained in the article. The formation mechanisms of hyperbolic verbal phrasemes enter into larger areas of study of phraseology: modeling of phraseological systems and phraseological derivation. Hyperbolic verbal phrasemes as typically idiosyncratic units prove to be modelable, i.e. describable in series within syntactic-semantic schemata. They are also subject to lively derivational processes, i.e. they form the basis for the emergence of new phrasemes. Modeling and derivation are thus important factors in the formation of hyperbolic verbal phrases and are also explained in the article.
