Opis:
Work was done as a part of the project " New generation haulage system of highly productive longwall systems" aiming to develop and implement a new longwall shearer system called KOMTRACK. The widely used EICOTRACK feed system developed forty years ago is not adapted to modern longwall shearers' power. Within the project, an innovative, flexible feed system with a modular structure was created with the possibility of continuous adjustment to the carbon wall's unevenness. Newly-developed three cast steels variants have been initially selected to fabricate this system's elements. The material's final selection was realized based on the tensile tests, Charpy impact tests, Brinell hardness surveys, and wear resistance measurements. Results analysis allowed to select cast steel marked as "2", which fulfilled all requirements and was used in further casting trials.

The article discusses the development of an approximation model of selected plastic and mechanical properties obtained from compression tests of model materials used in physical modeling. The use of physical modeling with the use of soft model materials such as a synthetic wax branch with various modifiers is a popular tool used as an alternative or verification of numerical modeling of bulk metal forming processes. In order to develop an algorithm to facilitate the choice of material model to simulate the behavior of real-metallic materials used in industrial production processes the induction of decision trees was used. First of all, the Statistica program was used for data mining, which made it possible to determine / find the relationship between the percentage of particular constituents of the model material (base material and modifiers) and yield strength, critical and maximum strain, and provide the opportunity to indicate the most important variables determining the shape of the stress - strain curve. Next, using the induction of decision trees, an approximation model was developed, which allowed to create an algorithm facilitating the selection of individual modifying components. The last stage of the research was verification of the correctness of the developed algorithm. The obtained research results indicate the possibility of using decision tree induction to approximate selected properties of modeling materials simulating the behavior of real materials, thus eliminating the need for costly and time-consuming experiments carried out on metallic material.

Opis:
This article presents the research results on impact of the method of polycrystalline graphene layers separation from the growth substrate on the obtained carbon material quality. The studies were carried out on graphene sheets obtained by metallurgical method on a liquid metal substrate (HSMG® graphene). The graphene was separated using chemical etching method or the electrochemical delamination method, by separating by means of electrolysis. During electrolysis, hydrogen is emitted on a graphene-covered of cathode (metal growth substrate) as a result of the voltage applied. The graphene layer breaks away from metallic substrate by gas accumulation between them. The results from these separation processes were evaluated by means of different tools, such as SEM, TEM and AFM microscopy as well as Raman Spectroscopy. In summary, the majority of analyses indicate that the graphene obtained as a result of hydrogen delamination possesses higher purity, smaller size and number of defects, its surface is smooth and less developed after the transfer process to the target substrate.

Summary: Preformulation studies were carried out to estimate the solubilization capacity of products of catalytic oxyethylation of triglyceride fractions extracted from the pharmacopoeial lard (Adeps suillus, PP XI). There were determined basic viscosity ([ɳ], Mɳ) and hydrodynamic (Ro, Robs., Ω) values of micellar solutions of oxyethylated derivatives as well as their surface activity - . Critical micellar concentration (cmc) was used to calculate the thermopotential for the formation of micelles (∆ ). Model studies on micellar solubilization of gemfibrozil, loratadine and valsartan from the solid body surface (phase boundary) were performed under equilibrium conditions at the surfactant concentration of cexp>>cmc. The amount of dissolved lipophilic therapeutic agents with qualitative and quantitative involvement of micellar solubilization was determined by spectrophotometric (UV) method - cǀsǀ (mg/100mL) as well as by calculating the solubilization indices - n|s| (mol / mol). The research study has identified structures of oxyethylated derivatives of triglyceride fractions which selectively and effectively solubilize gemfibrozil, loratadine and valsartan from the solid surface in the equilibrium system. The obtained results are a technological inspiration to create a model form of the drug (tablet) with continuous dispersion of lipophilic therapeutic agents (gemfibrozil, loratadine and valsartan), obtained on the basis of the liquefied surfactant structure. As an effective way of flood prevention it is widely accepted to construct flood embankments. These structures are getting bigger as the river changes from meandring to successive development of floodplain and narrowing the embankment. Meanwhile, it is worth returning old solutions and reactivating old floodplain polders. There are currently three polders on the central Odra River: Kiełcz-Tarnów-Bycki – with a capacity of approximately 15 million m3, Połupin – with a capacity of 70 million m3 and Krzesin-Bytomiec – with a capacity of 20 million m3. Three further reservoirs are designed in: Urad – 30 million ha, Słubice Górzyca – 60 million ha and Ługi Górzyckie – 30 million ha. The authors propose additionally a reactivation of seven archival polders, with total capacity of approximately 4.9 million m3.
Za skuteczny sposób walki z żywiołem powodzi przyjmuje się powszechnie budowę wałów przeciwpowodziowych. Konstrukcje te są coraz większe, w miarę przekształcania się rzeki z meandrującej w roztokową i sukcesywnego zagospodarowywania terenów zalewowych oraz zawężania międzywala. Tymczasem warto wrócić do starych rozwiązań i reaktywować dawne poldery zalewowe. Na środkowej Odrze aktualnie funkcjonują trzy poldery: Kiełcz-Tarnów Bycki – o pojemności około 15 mln m3, Połupin – o pojemności 70 mln m3 i Krzesin-Bytomiec – o pojemności 20 mln m3. Projektowane są tutaj trzy kolejne zbiorniki: Urad – 30 mln ha, Słubice Górzyca – 60 mln ha i Ługi Górzyckie – 30 mln ha. Autorzy proponują dodatkowo reaktywację siedmiu polderów archiwalnych, o sumarycznej pojemności około 4,9 mln m3.

Opis:
Benzo[a]pyrene is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon of well proved toxic effect on animal cells and tissues. We used chicken in ovo developmental model to verify its influence on selected parameters of the heart rhythm and on the antioxidative defense in the heart tissue. We determined that the dose of 1 mg/kg weight of eggs of benzo[a]pyrene strongly activates the glutathione-dependent antioxidative system, but it do not significantly affect the heart conducting system of the chicken embryo. We postulate that further study on the benzo[a]pyrene action during embryonic development of birds is recommended.

Opis:
The level of occupational health and safety is one of the determinants of the company's efficiency. The article assessed the quality of general initial training (general training) and initial training at the workplace (on-the-job training) carried out in selected business entities related to the hard coal mining industry. Problem included in the above trainings were interpreted as a criterion function within a multi-criteria analysis based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. Application of the AHP method allowed to perform a diagnostic (comparative) assessment of objects (business entities), both objects and accepted assessment criteria were compared in pairs with each other (the evaluator's preferences (subjectivity of assessments) are treated in the Analytic Hierarchy Process as a natural phenomenon).

Opis:
Existing river valley development methods which have been used for a significant period of time, as well as the use of land for construction of residential developments, have led to negative consequences for the environment. The agricultural use of land and its protection with hydraulic structures has restricted the natural flood area of the river. According to EU law, the risk of catastrophic flooding should be reduced, and its effects minimized. Sustainable water management determines the effectiveness of flood protection in the whole river basin. The paper presents the flood protection on the Odra River in the segment between Nowa Sól and Cigacice, with special emphasis on the possibility of reconstructing the former flood polders in the Middle Odra Region that existed before the year 1945, including the polder in Milsko.
Stosowane od wieków sposoby zagospodarowania dolin rzecznych oraz wykorzystanie obszaru pod budownictwo mieszkalne doprowadziło do negatywnych konsekwencji dla środowiska. Przeznaczenie terenów pod rolnictwo oraz zabezpieczanie ich przed powodzią budowlami hydrotechnicznymi ograniczyło naturalny rozlew rzeki. Według prawa należy zmniejszyć ryzyko wystąpienia katastrofalnej powodzi oraz zminimalizować jej skutki. Spójna gospodarka wodna warunkuje skuteczność ochrony przeciwpowodziowej w całym dorzeczu. Rozwiązaniem tego problemu może być odtworzenie dawnych polderów zalewowych funkcjonujących na Środkowym Nadodrzu przed 1945 r., w tym polderu Milsko.

Opis:
The article presents the results of studies on the efficacy of water desalination (i.e. Elimination of NaCl ions from the solution) using graphene-polyamide composite membranes. The membranę used for filtration consists of a monolayer of polycrystalline graphene on a porous polyamide carrier support (nylon 66). The degree of desalination for an aqueous NaCl solution percolated through the membrane was 18%. In the future this type of membrane may replace the currently used reverse osmosis membranes.
