    Opis:
    Purpose. Forms of physical activity people take up depend on sex, place of residence, age, season of the year and many other factors. The aim of the study was to find out what forms of physical activity senior high school students in Wrocław are interested in, and analyze them. It was assumed hypothetically that their interests depend upon sex, age and school the participants attended. In order to verify this hypothesis, the following research questions were posed: 1. Which forms of physical activity are senior high school students in Wrocław interested in? 2. Which of them are girls interested in and which are boys interested in? 3. Which forms of physical activity are students in various grades interested in (grades one, two and three)? 4. Which forms of physical activity are students of one school interested in and do they differ from those of students attending other schools? 5. Do interests in forms of physical activity depend upon age, sex and school? Methods. The study comprised 789 students (486 girls and 303 boys) of grades 1–3 of six senior high schools in Wrocław. The basic research method was a diagnostic survey and the technique was a questionnaire. For the purpose of determining their interests in forms of physical activity, a standardized survey questionnaire was used: ‘Interests in the scope of physical activity’.

    Urząd wikariusza parafialnego, który przeszedł długą ewolucję w Kościele, nie może być postrzegany jako wykonywanie doraźnych zadań zleconych przez proboszcza. Posługa wikariusza parafialnego nie jest też określana, jak w Kodeksie z 1917 roku, za pomocą pięciu różnych kategorii: wikariusz aktualny, zarządca, zastępca, pomocnik, współpracownik. Obecne prawo – inspirowane Soborem Watykańskim II – uznaje natomiast wikariusza za autentycznego współpracownika proboszcza i uczestnika jego troski, który jest ustanowiony do tej posługi przez biskupa diecezjalnego, aby – na zasadzie braterskiego współdziałania – sprawował pod władzą proboszcza dzieło nie tylko o charakterze duszpasterskim, ale i pasterskim (por. kan. 545 § 1 KPK/83). Obowiązki i uprawnienia wikariusza parafialnego, oprócz tych kodeksowych przyznających mu w określonych sytuacjach nawet uprawnienia do zastępowania proboszcza, zostały bardziej szczegółowo określone przez prawo partykularne. Dla lepszego zrozumienia zależności pomiędzy współpracą i autonomią wikariusza parafialnego w posługiwaniu duszpasterskim należy posłużyć się postanowieniami synodów diecezjalnych, które uwzględniając specyfikę konkretnych parafii i diecezji, określiły właściwe miejsce wikariusza parafialnego. Sprawuje on swoje posługiwanie z mandatu biskupa diecezjalnego, ale pod władzą proboszcza, z którym winien uzgadniać wszystkie plany i zamierzenia. Jako współbrat proboszcza w trosce o parafię, otrzymał on stosowną autonomię, która nie tylko pozwoli uczynić jego posługę bardziej owocną, ale i przygotowuje go do podjęcia w przyszłości samodzielnych zadań pasterskich.
    The parochial vicar office, which has undergone a long evolution in the Church, cannot be regarded as performing ad hoc tasks assigned by the parish priest. The ministry of parochial vicar is also not determined, as in the 1917 Code, using five different categories: the current vicar, the administrator, the substitute, the assistant, or the associate. The current law – inspired by the Second Vatican Council – considers the vicar to be an authentic associate pastor and participant in his care, who is organized for this service by the diocesan bishop, – on the principle of fraternal cooperation – to hold under the authority of the pastor, the work not only of a priestly nature, but pastoral (cf. can. 545 § 1 CPC). The duties and powers of a parochial vicar, except those of the Code conferring on him in certain situations even the power to replace the pastor, have been more specifically defined by the particular law. For a better understanding of the relationship between the cooperation and autonomy of the parochial vicar in the pastoral ministry it is highly advisable to use the provisions of the diocesan synods, which, having taken into consideration the specificity of certain parishes and dioceses, have identified the right place for the parochial vicar. He exercises his ministry with the mandate of the diocesan bishop, but under the authority of the pastor, with whom he should agree all plans and intentions. As a confrere of the pastor in the care of the parish, he has received the appropriate autonomy, which will not only make his ministry more fruitful, but will prepare him for future independent pastoral work.

    Instytucja ubezwłasnowolnienia, posiadająca ogromne znaczenie z punktu widzenia prawnego, społecznego i rodzinnego, wzbudza liczne kontrowersje. Niektórzy autorzy zastanawiają się, czy powinna mieć obecnie rację bytu, z racji ograniczenia zdolności do czynności prawnych osoby, której dotyczy. Z drugiej zaś strony – z perspektywy osób podejmujących się opieki nad seniorami – wydaje się być niezwykle pomocna. Chociaż pojawiają się nowe propozycje, które mogły zastąpić ubezwłasnowolnienie, pozostają one póki co na poziomie postulatów. Dlatego niniejsze opracowanie stanowi po pierwsze prezentację, a obok tego ocenę instytucji ubezwłasnowolnienia w polskim systemie prawnym. Aby mogła ona spełnić swoje przedmiotowe zadanie, a jednocześnie wykluczyć wszelkie nadużycia w jej stosowaniu, konieczne jest zachowanie stosownych przepisów prawa, które zapewnią podmiotowe traktowanie osoby i ochronę jej interesów.
    An institution of incapacitation possessing a huge meaning from the legal, social and family point of view, raises numerous controversies. Some authors think consider whether it should exist due to the limitation of an ability to legal activities of the person to whom it refers. On the other hand whereas – from the perspective of the persons taking care for the seniors – it seems to be extremely helpful. Although there are new proposals which could replace the incapacitation, they remain so far on the level of postulates. Therefore, this study constitutes the presentation, first of all, and additionally an assessment of the institution of incapacitation in the Polish legal system. So as to it could fulfill its subjective task and at the same time exclude all abuses in using thereof, it is necessary to preserve proper law provisions which will assure subjective treating the person and protection of their interests.

    One of the most commonly performed surgeries in general surgery wards with laparoscopic technique as a method of choice is gall-bladder excision. In addition to -the commonly used conventional laparoscopic cholecystectomy single incision laparoscopic cholecystectomy is getting more and more attention. Despite many works and studies comparing these methods, there is still a shortage of results assessing efficiency of this new surgical technique. The aim of the study was to evaluate cost-effectiveness of this method in Polish financial reality. We have analyzed costs of three different surgical techniques: conventional (multi- incision) laparoscopic cholecystectomy, SILC and ‘no -port’ SILC. Material and methods. We conducted a retrospective study that compared three groups of patients who underwent treatment with conventional laparoscopic cholecystectomy (n=20), SILC (n=20) and no-port SILC (n=20). These groups were matched by age, sex and BMI. Following parameters were analyzed: complication rate, operative time, operative costs, length of hospital stay, hospitalization costs. The SILC cases were performed with one of the three-trocar SILC ports available on the market. The ‘no- port’ SILC cases were performed by single skin incision in the umbilicus, insertion of one 10 mm trocar for the operating instrument, another instrument and scope were inserted directly thorough small incisions in the aponeurosis without a dedicated port Results. The average operative cost was significantly higher in the SILC group comparing to the conventional laparoscopy group and the no-port SILC group. There was no significant difference in complication rate, operative time, length of hospital stay, or hospitalization costs between the three groups Conclusions. Currently the cost of the dedicated SILC port does not allow a regular use of this procedure in Polish financial reality. According to our experience improved cosmesis is the only advantage of the single incision laparoscopy, therefore we believe that it is reasonable to consider this technique in a a very selected group of patients.

    W 2011 roku uruchomiono na Wyżnie Lubelskiej i Roztoczu monitoring hydro-meteorologiczny i geomorfologiczny w 7 zlewniach niskiej rangi hydrologicznej (ryc. 1), w ramach projektu NCN, pt.: „Predykcja gwałtownych ulew i modelowanie matematyczne ich skutków środowiskowych i społeczno-ekonomicznych” (nr NN/306571640). Pomiary transportu fluwialnego wykonuje się w 12 reprezentatywnych przekrojach poprzecznych rzek i potoków okresowych (ryc. 1). W pracy przedstawiono wstępne wyniki otrzymane dla okresu maj–październik 2011 roku dla dwóch zlewni (Świerszcza i Kryniczanki) położonych na Roztoczu. W analizowanym dość ciepłym i suchym okresie zarejestrowano 87 dni z opadem > 0,1 mm, a maksymalny opad dobowy nie przekroczył 40 mm (ryc. 2). Odpływ całkowity ze zlewni Świerszcza wahał się od 6,4 mm do 104,5 mm, co stanowiło 1,8 % całkowitej sumy opadów. Średni odpływ ze zlewni Kryniczanki osiągnął 10,4 mm (ok. 2,2% całkowitej sumy opadów). Skrajne wielkości dobowe przepływu w Świerszczu zmieniały się od 0,135 m3·s-1 do 0,498 m3·s-1 (ryc. 3). Najwyższe przepływy miesięczne przypadały na sierpień (0,235 m3·s-1), najniższe na wrzesień (0,153 m3·s-1). W Kryniczance skrajne wielkości dobowe przepływu zmieniały się od 0,013 do 1,52 m3·s-1, natomiast najwyższe przepływy zanotowano w lipcu, a najniższe w czerwcu i październiku (ryc. 3). Średnie miesięczne wielkości mineralizacji całkowitej były mało zmienne, zarówno dla Kryniczanki (231–287 mg∙dm-3), jak i Świerszcza (137–177 mg∙dm-3). Najmniej roztworów odprowadzanych było w czerwcu (Kryniczanka – 38,7 t, Świerszcz – 70,1 t), najwięcej w lipcu (Kryniczanka – 236 t) lub październiku (Świerszcz – 99 t), a całkowity odpływ materiału ze zlewni osiągnął 591 t (Kryniczanka) i 470 t (Świerszcz). Udział materiału rozpuszczonego w całkowitym transporcie rzeczym był bardzo wysoki (do 99.7%), a materiału dennego niewielki (< 1%). Wskaźniki denudacji jednostkowej w okresie maj–październik 2011 roku wahały się od 0,6 do 3,5 t·km-2 dla zlewni Kryniczanki oraz od 1,7 do 2,2 t·km-2 dla zlewni Świerszcza. Średnie wskaźniki denudacji chemicznej osiągnęły 1,5 t·km-2 dla Kryniczanki i 0,19 t·km-2 dla Świerszcza. Średnie wskaźniki denudacji mechanicznej dochodziły do 0,019 t·km-2 dla Kryniczanki i 0,072 t·km-2 dla Świerszcza. Otrzymane wskaźniki denudacji nie odbiegają od średnich z wielolecia. Zróżnicowanie transportu fluwialnego w analizowanych zlewniach było uzależnione od wielkości i rozkładu odpływu oraz pokrycia terenu. Otrzymane zaś wskaźniki denudacji są niższe od przeciętnych dla Wyżyn Polskich i porównywalnie z obszarami Niżu Środkowoeuropejskiego. Wpływa na to stosunkowo mała rozpuszczalność większości skał w podłożu, znaczny udział lasów i łąk w dnach dolin oraz małe nasilenie antropopresji (duży udział obszarów chronionych).

    Realizacja podstawowej misji Kościoła dokonuje się poprzez munus docendi oraz munus sanctificandi. W ramach wypełniania tych zadań wspólnota założona przez Chrystusa spotka się z różnymi kulturami i zostaje włączona w proces inkulturacji. Ta ostatnia wskazuje na potrzebę budowania właściwych relacji pomiędzy wiarą i kulturą. Jej szczególnym wyrazem jest inkulturacja liturgiczna, którą można zdefiniować jako proces wprowadzania tekstów i obrzędów kultycznych do struktury kultury lokalnej. W niniejszym opracowaniu został ukazany proces inkulturacji w odniesieniu do prawa liturgicznego, jak również zaprezentowane modele inkulturacji, które są niezwykle ważne w procesie tworzenia publicznego kultu Bożego i przystosowanej modlitwy liturgicznej.
    The basic mission of the Church is carried out through munus docendi and munus sanctificandi. In fulfilling these tasks, the community founded by Christ meets with different cultures and becomes involved in the process of inculturation. The latter points to the need to build proper relationships between faith and culture. Its special expression is the liturgical inculturation, which can be defined as the process of introducing cultic texts and rites into the structure of local culture. This study presents the process of the inculturation in relation to the liturgical law, as well as models of inculturation, which are extremely important in the process of creating public worship and liturgical prayer.

    The search for the answer of the following question is still actual: How to teach pupils religion in order to bring them to the proper participation in liturgy? To fulfil this assignment means to feed the catechised with the word and grace of God. Both the liturgy and catechesis are in their own ways a space for preaching the word of God and experiencing the grace of God. There are close correlations between liturgy and catechesis. Liturgy needs catechesis and catechesis needs liturgy. The Eucharist should be presented in catechesis in an encouraging way to bring the young people to the Holy Mass. Carrying out this assignment should be based on the wisdom of the Church: “Regulation of the sacred liturgy depends solely on the authority of the Church […] Therefore no other person, even if he be a priest, may add, remove, or change anything in the liturgy on his own authority” (Sacrosanctum Concilium, 22, 1–3). Those recommendations are also applicable in preparing the catechised to the sacraments in particular: First Communion, confirmation and confession. However, if the assignment of bringing the catechised to a mature participation in the liturgy is to be fully achieved the catechists should be taken in care as well. They transfer the teaching of Christ and should have proper traits. “For the noblest human and Christian attributes guarantee more fruitful catechesis than any elaborated methods” (Dyrektorium ogólne o katechizacji, 71).
    Ciągle aktualne jest poszukiwanie odpowiedzi na pytanie: Jak uczyć uczniów religii, aby doprowadzić ich do odpowiedniego udziału w liturgii? Aby wypełnić to zadanie, należy katechizowanych nakarmić słowem Bożym i łaską Boga. Przestrzenią głoszenia słowa Bożego i obdarzania łaską Boga jest zarówno katecheza, jak i liturgia – każda z nich, we właściwym sobie zakresie. Pomiędzy liturgią a katechezą zachodzą wzajemne relacje. Liturgia domaga się katechezy, a katecheza domaga się liturgii. Aby młodych ludzi poprzez katechezę skutecznie przybliżyć do Mszy świętej, należy ukazywać im Eucharystię w sposób zachęcający. W realizacji tego zadania należy kierować się mądrością Kościoła: „Prawo kierowania sprawami liturgii należy wyłącznie do władzy kościelnej […] Dlatego nikomu innemu, chociażby nawet był kapłanem, nie wolno na własną rękę niczego dodawać, ujmować lub zmieniać w liturgii” (konst. Sacrosanctum Concilium, 22, § 1–3). Te wskazania mają swoje zastosowanie zwłaszcza w przygotowaniu katechizowanych do sakramentów: pierwszej Komunii świętej, bierzmowania i spowiedzi świętej. Jednak, aby został w pełni osiągnięty cel doprowadzenia katechizowanych do dojrzałego udziału w liturgii, należy zadbać także o formację katechetów. Oni jako przekaziciele nauki Chrystusa, powinni odznaczać się odpowiednimi cechami. „Najszlachetniejsze bowiem przymioty ludzkie i chrześcijańskie katechety bardziej gwarantują owocność katechezy aniżeli wyszukane metody” (Dyrektorium ogólne o katechizacji, 71).

    Liturgia stanowi przestrzeń szczególnego spotkania teologii i prawa. Nawet, jeśli niektórym wydaje się, że powinna być ona ograniczona tylko do wymiaru czysto mistycznego, bo widzi się w niej specjalny rodzaj modlitwy, to w rzeczywistości jej kształt jest dokładnie określony przez normy prawa kościelnego. Krytyczna ocena Kodeksu Prawa Kanonicznego z 1983 r. musiała uwzględnić obiektywne stwierdzenie, że nie każdy przepis w nim określony i zawarty oddał w sposób precyzyjny sensus Ecclesiae twórców i uczestników Soboru Watykańskiego II. Tak było chociażby w przypadku kan. 838 KPK/83. Zawarte w nim normy odnoszące się do adaptacji i akomodacji oraz określające zasady współpracy pomiędzy Stolicą Apostolską a lokalnymi konferencjami biskupów wymagały uzgodnienia z przepisami przyjętymi już w ramach obrad Soboru Watykańskiego II. Dlatego na mocy listu apostolskiego motu proprio Magnum principium papież dokonał stosownych zmian, które uczyniły współpracę Stolicy Apostolskiej i konferencji biskupów jeszcze sprawniejszą i bardziej owocną w służbie wiernym. Ponadto dzięki tej nowelizacji modlitwa liturgiczna ma być bardziej przystosowana do zrozumienia ludzi.
    Liturgy is a particular space of contact between theology and law. Despite of the fact that certain people are of the opinion that it should be limited only to a purely mystical dimension, as it is perceived as a special kind of prayer, its form is in fact precisely defined by the standards of church law. Critical assessment of the 1983 Code of Canon Law must also take into account the objective statement that not every precept defined and contained therein accurately reflects the sensus Ecclesiae of the founders and participants of the Second Vatican Council. This is the case with can. 838 of the Code of Canon Law. The standards relating to adaptation and accommodation contained therein and defining the principles of cooperation between the Holy See and local conferences of bishops, required agreement with the provisions already adopted as part of the deliberations of the Second Vatican Council. Therefore, by virtue of the apostolic letter of the motu proprio Magnum principium, the Pope made appropriate changes that made the cooperation of the Holy See and the Conference of Bishops even more efficient and more fruitful in the service of the faithful. Moreover, thanks to this amendment, the liturgical prayer is to be more adapted to the understanding of people.

    Background This study aimed to compare the stage of coronary heart disease in patients who underwent invasive cardiac diagnostics during the COVID-19 pandemic and before, based on the number of medical devices used and the number of complex coronary angioplasty procedures performed. Material and Methods A retrospective, single-center study was conducted, which included 187 successive patients with diagnosed coronary heart disease, who were divided into 2 groups: group I (N = 92, pre-COVID-19 pandemic) and group II (N = 95, during COVID-19 pandemic). Results Despite a comparable number of invasive procedures in both groups, stent length and contrast use per procedure were significantly higher during the COVID-19 pandemic. Similarly, a higher number of stents was used per patient in 2021, however, the difference was not statistically significant (p = 0.0817). Similarly, fluoroscopy time per procedure and procedure duration were significantly longer in the 2021 group. Among patients treated during the COVID-19 pandemic, higher glucose concentration, blood pressure parameters, low-density lipoprotein and total cholesterol were observed; however, these differences were not statistically significant. Conclusions During the COVID-19 pandemic, coronary atherosclerosis progression were found, requiring a higher number of complex coronary angioplasty procedures, which contributed to a statistically significant increase in the number of medical devices used (angioplasty guidewires, angioplasty balloons) and procedures duration.

    W polskim systemie prawnym godność człowieka stanowi wartość limitującą stosowanie wszelkich norm. Jest ona przyrodzona i niezbywalna, dlatego jej poszanowanie oraz ochronę uznaje się za jeden z istotnych obowiązków władz publicznych. Obok niej w ustawodawstwie polskim funkcjonuje także instytucja ubezwłasnowolnienia należąca do najpoważniejszych form ingerencji prawnej w sferę elementarnych praw człowieka. Artykuł ma na celu zestawienie w kontekście filozoficzno-teologiczno-prawnym godności człowieka jako wartości konstytucyjnej z instytucją ubezwłasnowolnienia stosowaną w odniesieniu do seniorów. W ocenie dopuszczalności i zasadności zastosowania ubezwłasnowolnienie w konkretnym przypadku niezmiennie musi zostać wzięta pod uwagę wartość, jaką jest godność człowieka.
    In the Polish legal system, human dignity is the limiting value in applying all norms. Dignity is intrinsic and inalienable. Therefore, respecting and protecting human dignity are considered fundamental duties of public authorities. At the same time, Polish legislation features an institution of incapacitation, which is among the most severe forms of legal interference in the sphere of fundamental human rights. Taking in a broader, philosophical-theological-legal perspective, this article seeks to juxtapose human dignity as a constitutional value against the institution of incapacitation concerning senior citizens. Even if necessity sometimes requires that institution of incapacitation be used, the value of human dignity should be taken into account when assessing the admissibility and lawfulness of its use in particular cases.

    The aim of this study was to conduct an epidemiological and laboratory surveillance of Influenza-Like Illnesses (ILI) in Polish Armed Forces, civilian military personnel and their families in 2011/2012 epidemic season, under the United States Department of Defense-Global Emerging Infections Surveillance and Response System (DoD-GEIS). ILI incidence data were analyzed in relation to age, gender, patient category as well as pathogen patterns. Multiple viral, bacterial and viral-bacterial co-infections were identified. Nose and throat swabs of active duty soldiers in the homeland country and in the NATO peacekeeping forces KFOR (Kosovo Force), as well as members of their families were tested for the presence of viral and bacterial pathogens. From October 2011 to May 2012, 416 specimens from ILI symptoms patients were collected and analyzed for the presence of viral and bacterial pathogens. Among viruses, coronavirus was the most commonly detected. In the case of bacterial infections, the most common pathogen was Staphylococcus aureus.

    The aim of this study was to investigate the in vitro cytotoxicity of oseltamivir derivatives and determine their activity against A/H1N1/PR/8/34 and A/H3N2/HongKong/8/68 - strains of influenza virus. Antiviral activity of these compounds was determined by using two methods. MTT staining was used to assess the viability of MDCK cells infected with influenza viruses and treated with various concentrations of drugs. In parallel, the effect of drugs on viral replication was assessed using the hemagglutination test. The most toxic compounds were: OS-64, OS-35, OS-29, OS-27 and OS-25, whereas OS-11, OS-20 and OS-23 were the least toxic ones. Statistically significant antiviral effect at a higher virus dose was shown by compounds: OS-11, OS-20, OS-27, OS-35, and OS-64. H3N2 virus was sensitive to 10-times lower concentrations of OS-11 and OS-35 than H1N1. At a lower infection dose, the antiviral activity was observed for OS-11, OS 27, OS-35 and OS-20. OS-64 turned out to be effective only at a high concentration. OS-23 showed no antiviral effect.

    This paper presents a review of the electromagnetic field and a performance analysis of a radial flux interior permanent magnet (IPM) machine designed to achieve 80 kW and 125 Nm for an electric and hybrid traction vehicle. The motor consists of a 12-slot stator with a three-phase concentrated winding as well as an 8-pole rotor with V-shaped magnets. Selected motor parameters obtained from an IPM prototype were compared with the design requirements. Based on the electromagnetic field analysis, the authors have indicated the parts of the motor that should be redesigned, including the structure of the rotor core, aimed at enhancing the motor’s performance and adjusting segmentation for magnet eddy current loss reduction. In addition, iron and PM eddy current losses were investigated. Moreover, transient analysis of current peak value showed that the current may increase significantly compared to steady-state values. A map of transient peak current load vs. torque load plotted against rotor speed was provided. Based on the numeric and analytical results of physical machine parameters, the authors indicate that collapse load during the motor’s operation may significantly increase the risk of permanent magnet (PM) demagnetization. It was also found that collapse load increases the transient torque, which may reduce the lifetime of windings.

    Epilepsy is a neurological disorder that causes seizures of many different types. The article presents an analysis of heart rate variability (HRV) for epileptic seizure prediction. Considering that HRV is nonstationary, our research focused on the quantitative analysis of a Poincare plot feature, i.e. cardiac sympathetic index (CSI). It is reported that the CSI value increases before the epileptic seizure. An algorithm using a 1D-convolutional neural network (1D-CNN) was proposed for CSI estimation. The usability of this method was checked for 40 epilepsy patients. Our algorithm was compared with the method proposed by Toichi et al. The mean squared error (MSE) for testing data was 0.046 and the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) amounted to 0.097. The 1D-CNN algorithm was also compared with regression methods. For this purpose, a classical type of neural network (MLP), as well as linear regression and SVM regression, were tested. In the study, typical artifacts occurring in ECG signals before and during an epileptic seizure were simulated. The proposed 1D-CNN algorithm estimates CSI well and is resistant to noise and artifacts in the ECG signal.
