Opis:
Background. This article presents results of research about psychophysiological adaptation of children who migrated from the northern to the southern regions of Siberia. The purpose of this study was to create measures that can be used to promote health among migrants. Material and methods. We examined 157 children between the ages of 11-16. Roughly half (n=74) were child migrants, and the remainder (n=83) were children who lived constantly in region of southern Siberia. Psychophysiological adaptation was assessed by methods of Eysenck, Rogov, Belokon and Kuberger. Results. Assessment of parameters allowed us to reveal multidirectional results in groups of children. The questionnaire developed by Eysenck showed the predominance of the extroverted type of personality among patients, but emotional instability was more often recorded among child migrants (p=0.0007). Child migrants took significantly longer to complete psychological tests, including tests of attention (p=0.0042) and verbal logical thinking (p<0.001). Vegetative homeostasis was characterized by a higher level of sympathetic tonic initial vegetative tone (p=0.0172), hyper sympathetic tonic variant of vegetative reactivity (p=0.0377), and an altered type of hemodynamic reaction to the clinoorthostatic test (50% of cases). Conclusions. The high frequency of emotional instability, slower speed of logical thinking possesses, and sympathetic tonic orientation of vegetative homeostasis parameters are distinctive features of child migrants. Children with deviations in psychophysiological parameters are at high risk of developing psychosomatic pathology. Therefore, preventive measures are necessary to help promote health among child migrants.
Wprowadzenie. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań dotyczących adaptacji psychofizjologicznej dzieci migrujących z północnych do południowych regionów Syberii. Celem pracy było wypracowanie metod i środków, które można wykorzystać na rzecz promocji zdrowia wśród migrantów. Materiał i metody. Wyniki. Ocena wielu parametrów pozwoliła na ujawnienie wielokierunkowych wyników w grupach dzieci. Dane z kwestionariusza Eysencka wykazały przewagę ekstrawertycznego typu osobowości wśród dzieci obu grup, ale niestabilność emocjonalną częściej odnotowywano wśród dzieci migrantów (p=0,0007). Migranci spędzali znacznie więcej czasu na wykonywaniu testów psychologicznych: ilościowy wskaźnik uwagi (p=0,0042) i logiczne myślenie werbalne (p<0,001). Wegetatywna homeostaza charakteryzowała się wyższym poziomem wegetatywnego tonicznego napięcia początkowego (p=0,0172), hipersympatycznym wariantem tonicznej reaktywności wegetatywnej (p=0,0377), zmienionym typem reakcji hemodynamicznej na test ortostatyczny (50% przypadków). Wnioski. Wysoka częstotliwość niestabilności emocjonalnej, niski poziom prędkości myślenia logicznego, sympatyczna toniczna orientacja wegetatywnych parametrów homeostazy są charakterystycznymi cechami psychofizjologicznymi dzieci migrantów. Dzieci z odchyleniami parametrów psychofizjologicznych posiadają wysokie ryzyko rozwoju zaburzeń psychosomatycznych i dlatego konieczne jest wprowadzenie metod i środków profilaktycznych na rzecz promocji zdrowia.

Opis:
Background: In Russia, there is an active ongoing process of national revival of the indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North Siberia, such as the Evenks. Revival of the younger generation, in particular, remains a priority. The state helps to solve the problems of education and adaptation of Evenk children to modern life. This is necessary because parents, hunters, and reindeer herders have a nomadic lifestyle. The educational feature of Evenk children is to study and live in a boarding school after elementary school graduation. Success of adaptation largely depends on the ability to account for the ethnopsychological specificity of Evenk children. Aim of the study: To study characteristics of the psychoemotional sphere and identify ethnospecific indicators for the adaptation of Evenk children to a boarding school. Material and methods: Pupils (N = 409) aged 10–16 from the village boarding school of Evenkia, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Russia were examined. Pupils consisted of 132 Evenk children and 277 Russian children. The emotional sphere was evaluated according to Eysenck Personality Inventory (EPI) and lateral phenotype was evaluated according to Bragina & Dobrokhotova. Results: We found that Evenk children show a predominant pattern of left laterality (p = 0.024). In addition, relative to Russian children, Evenk children are more likely to show the introverted personality type (p = 0.035). Relative to Russian children, Evenk children are more restrained in their emotional manifestations, have greater difficulty in communicating with strangers, answer with monosyllables, and show a less vivid emotional reaction to praise. Further, relative to Russian children, Evenk children are more likely to show a high level of emotional stability (i.e., 9–10 points; p = 0.001). Conclusions: The present study examined the psychoemotional characteristics of Evenk children. We identified ethnospecific indicators, including an introversion personality type combined with emotional stability and left laterality. Identification of these characteristics allowed us to form a risk group of children in adaptation. Ethnospecific indicators of the psycho-emotional sphere should be considered for effective management of the adaptation of children in a boarding school.

Classification of emotions
adaptation
cognition.
Opis:
Emotions appeared very early in phylogenetic and ontogenetic development. The word emotion originates from the Latin verb movere. However, attempts to distinguish and name the concept represented by the phrase emotion reach back to the beginnings of human language. The compound and subjective nature of emotions stress an essential aspect of this phenomenon, which leads to changes in physiological, psychological, and behavioral issues. World literature dedicates significant attention to the mutual associations between the cognitive and adaptive processes and emotions. Emotions help to estimate the adaptational meaning of stimuli. Its cognitive aspect is, however, just as significant. The review of the literature presented herein is an attempt to classify and evaluate particular emotions, both positive and negative, and the influence they have on physical and mental health. Paul Ekman, the author of one of the more esteemed classification attempts, has distinguished six basic emotions: anger, disgust, fear, happiness, sadness, and surprise. These universal emotions are recognized based on emotional facial expressions, the automatic reactions that unfold within microseconds. Robert Plutchik, on the other hand, devised his „emotion wheel” upon which he organized eight basic emotions by grouping them in pairs comprising a combination of positive and negative emotions. He is also the author of one of the best framed emotional combination theories. In this respect, emotions play a crucial role as compound model reactions to everyday situations such as a long-lasting effort ensuring survival and individual development.
