Opis:
Synthetic organic compounds and those of plant origin used in insect pest control are known to affect digestive enzymes and biochemical compounds. The lesser mulberry pyralid Glyphodes pyloalis Walker is a monophagous and dangerous pest of mulberry that has been recently observed in Guilan province, northern Iran. In this study the effect of the neem formulation, Achook (0.03% azadirachtin) was studied on nutritional physiology and gut enzyme activity of the lesser mulberry pyralid G. pyloalis. The LC25, LC50, and LC90 values on 4th instar larvae were estimated as 113.6, 256.84, and 1,210.02 ppm, respectively. The neem insecticide exhibited a significant antifeedant activity when used at the highest concentration. When G. pyloalis larvae were provided with mulberry leaves treated with the neem extract, all nutritional indices, except approximate digestibility, decreased. Neem was found to affect digestive enzyme activities in the midgut of treated larvae. When larvae were fed on treated leaves, biochemical compounds in the hemolymph, such as protein, lipid, and glucose decreased but the amount of uric acid increased compared with the control.

Opis:
Third-instar larvae of Helicoverpa armigera Hübner (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) were exposed to 12.5, 25, and 50 mg/kg concentrations of cadmium (Cd). The third-instar larvae were also exposed to 25, 50, and 100 mg/kg concentration of copper (Cu), and 25, 50, and 100 mg/kg concentrations of zinc (Zn). The heavy metal concentrations were each introduced separately into the artificial diet of the third-instar larvae. The third-instar larvae were 24 h old at the start of the treatment. The larvae were maintained in controlled conditions (26±1°C, 65±10% RH and 16L : 8D h) for 7 days. The feeding indices and the level of total protein, glycogen, cholesterol, and triglyceride were measured after the treatments. The results showed that high concentrations of Cd significantly increased approximate digestibility (AD). The relative growth rate (RGR) was significantly enhanced with a 25 mg/kg concentration of Cu. Efficiency of conversion of the ingested food (ECI%) increased significantly with lower concentrations of copper (25 and 50 mg/kg). The amount of cholesterol was also enhanced with 12.5 and 25 mg/kg concentrations of cadmium while the amount of triglyceride was significantly reduced in all Cd treatments. Glycogen, protein, and cholesterol were significantly enhanced in all Cu treatments. The amount of triglycerides at 25 and 50 mg/kg of Cu was significantly increased. Glycogen in all Zn treatments was significantly increased. Protein and cholesterol levels showed significant reduction with a 25 and 50 mg/kg concentration of zinc while triglyceride was enhanced with a 50 mg/kg concentration of Zn. It is clear from the present results that the presence of such heavy metals in the environment has an intense impact on H. armigera as far as food consumption and biochemical indices are concerned. Therefore, a need is shown for a more comprehensive study on the life table and immunology of this insect, under the presence of heavy metals.

Opis:
With the development of urbanization and expansion of urban land use, the need to up to date maps, has drawn the attention of the urban planners. With the advancement of the remote sensing technology and accessibility to images with high resolution powers, the classification of these land uses could be executed in different ways. In the current research, different algorithms for classifying the pixel-based were tested on the land use of the city of Urmia, using the multi spectral images of the IKONOS satellite. Here, in this method, the algorithms of the supervised classification of the maximum likelihood, minimum distance to mean and parallel piped were executed on seven land use classes. Results obtained using the error matrix indicated that the algorithm for classifying the maximum likelihood has an overall accuracy of 88/93 % and the Kappa coefficient of 0/86 while for the algorithms of minimum distance to mean and parallel piped , the overall accuracy are 05/79 % and 40/70 % respectively. Also, the accuracy of the producer and that of the user in most land use classes in the method of maximum likelihood are higher compared to the other algorithms.

In this paper, we define the notion of PC-lattice, as a generalization of finite positive implicative BCK-algebras with condition (S) and bounded commutative BCK-algebras. We investiate some results for Pc-lattices being a new class of BCK-lattices. Specially, we prove that any Boolean lattice is a PC-lattice and we show that if X is a PC-lattice with condition S, then X is an involutory BCK-algebra if and only if X is a commutative BCK-algebra. Finally, we prove that any PC-lattice with condition (S) is a distributive BCK-algebra.

Opis:
A nanoscale beam model containing defect under the piezoelectricity considering the surface effects and flexoelectricity is established on the framework of Euler-Bernoulli theory. The governing equations of motion and related boundary conditions are derived by using Hamilton’s principle. The imperfect nanobeam is modeled by dividing the beam into two separate parts that are connected by a rotational and a longitude spring at the defect location. Analytical results on the free vibration response of the imperfect piezoelectric nanobeam exhibit that the flexoelectricity and the surface effects are sensitive to the boundary conditions, defect position, and geometry of the nanobeam. Numerical results are provided to predict the mechanical behavior of a weakened piezoelectric nanobeam considering the flexoelectric and surface effects. It is also revealed that the voltage, defect severity, and piezoelectric material have a critical role on the resonance frequency. The work is envisaged to underline the influence of surface effects and flexoelectricity on the free vibration of a cracked piezoelectric nanobeam for diverse boundary conditions. It should be mentioned, despite our R. Sourkiprevious works, an important class of piezoelectric materials used nowadays and called piezoelectric ceramics is considered in the current study.

Opis:
Objectives. The aim of this study was to assess the relationship between occupational cognitive failures (OCFs) and unsafe behaviors, accidents and driving offences among municipal bus drivers in Tehran, Iran. Methods. Systematic random sampling was used to select 190 drivers from 3 transport and traffic Tehran districts. Data were collected with the occupational cognitive failure questionnaire (OCFQ), the driver behavior questionnaire and a data collection form. Results. The mean (SD) numbers of driving-related offences and road traffic accidents were 1.5 (2.6) and 0.37 (1.0), respectively. The mean (SD) numbers of deliberate driving violations, unintended violations, driving slips and mistakes were 6.97 (5.5), 1.61 (1.5), 13.6 (9.0) and 4.53 (3.28), respectively. The mean (SD) number of the OCFs was 28.9 (20.5). A significant correlation was found between occupational cognitive error and unsafe driving behavior subscales. The stepwise logistic regression results showed that, while controlling the effects of confounding factors, the OCF predicts 6%, 9%, 15% and 9% of deliberate violations, unintended violations, driving slips and driving mistakes, respectively. Conclusion. The results of this study show that the score of the OCFQ is a predictor of unsafe driving behaviors and its subscales.
