Opis:
Situated in the northern part of Algeria, Ouarsenis is one of several area affected by landslide phenomena. Indeed, 60 houses, a stadium and a lot of sports infrastructures are affected by the landslides. In this perspective, we have chosen a model of landslide with an area of 166 700 m2 affecting the southern part of the Bordj Bou Naama city. In order to characterized the landslide structure, we used multisource data (geological, topographical, geophysical and geotechnical). For modeling the 3D landslide surfaces we used three geometric models which are generated from different techniques of interpolation as Inverse Distance Weight (IDW), Minimum Curvature (MC) and Kriging (KO) and applied to the same input data set. The root of the mean square error (RMSE) and visual appearance of the morphology are used to select the best model. Indeed our results show that the KO represents the best model that gives a good result. Quality control is also performed to ensure that the model is suitable for hydro-mechanical modeling. This model show that the total volume of soils moved is ~9.8*105 m3, in which the volume of geological levels is 828 500 m3, 143440 m3 and 11 434.32 m3 respectively for the embankments, colluviums and Brown shale. The bleu shale is far from to be affected by this landslides, indeed the deepest zone that the rupture area affects is located at 12 m of depth. These results seem to be very important in order to plan remediation work in this area.

Opis:
This paper is concerned with the “Study of photoelasticity and a photoelastic theoretical investigation of the stress distribution in Square Blocks subjected to concentrated diagonal loads”, a thesis topic by M.M. Frocht who developed the well-known semi empirical Shear Stress Difference method. Indeed, the use of the Beltrami-Michell methodology remains quick, when complemented by photoelasticity to acquire Dirichlet’s conditions. The synergy of both methods is enhanced with the use of the finite difference method. In addition, a finite element analysis has provided results that will be a supplementary reference for validation. The results obtained have been of lower cost than those obtained by Frocht.

Opis:
Optimal estimation of water balance components at the local and regional scales is essential for many applications such as integrated water resources management, hydrogeological modelling and irrigation scheduling. Evapotranspiration is a very important component of the hydrological cycle at the soil surface, particularly in arid and semi-arid lands. Mapping evapotranspiration at high resolution with internalised calibration (METRIC), trapezoid interpolation model (TIM), two-source energy balance (TSEB), and soil-plant-atmosphere and remote sensing evapotranspiration (SPARSE) models were applied using Landsat 8 images for four dates during 2014-2015 and meteorological data. Surface energy maps were then generated. Latent heat flux estimated by four models was then compared and evaluated with those measured by applying the method of Bowen ratio for the various days. In warm periods with high water stress differences and with important surface temperature differences, METRIC proves to be the most robust with the root-mean-square error (RMSE) less than 40 W∙m-2. However, during the periods with no significant surface temperature and soil humidity differences, SPARSE model is superior with the RMSE of 35 W∙m-2. The results of TIM are close to METRIC, since both models are sensitive to the difference in surface temperature. However, SPARSE remains reliable with the RMSE of 55 W∙m-2 unlike TSEB, which has a large deviation from the other models. On the other hand, during the days when the temperature difference is small, SPARSE and TSEB are superior, with a clear advantage of SPARSE serial version, where temperature differences are less important.

In this paper, we focus on the solvability of a fractional boundary value problem at resonance on an unbounded interval. By constructing suitable operators, we establish an existence theorem upon the coincidence degree theory of Mawhin. The obtained results are illustrated by an example.
