Opis:
The paper deals with the influence of active car safety systems on driver‘s behavior in emergency situations, i.e. emergency braking, steering angle, etc. Several models of real vehicles have been tested in order to analyse the ABS and ESP systems operation efficiency. The results of emergency braking and stability in real vehicle testing with ABS and ESP stability control systems switched on and off are presented in detail. In order to get the maximum impact of ABS and ESP systems (full activated) the real vehicles were tested on the asphalt paved road covered with wet snow. Tests were also carried out on the road sections with different pavement and state. The XL Meter Pro Beta measurement device was used for the real vehicle testing. The brakes and active safety systems of the vehicles have been tested for their effectiveness at different conditions: when the vehicle is braking on horizontal wet asphalt, and on an icy gravel surface, at a different initial running speed: 40km/h, 70 km/h and 100 km/h. During the real vehicle testing the stability during emergency braking resulted in the assessment of influence of active safety systems on handling the vehicle and its stability, and the driver's behaviour in emergency situations i.e. on a slippery road, or at sharp steering angle. The results of real vehicle testing have been presented in the paper in the form of charts. Examination of a vehicle emergency braking and stability systems results in the conclusions concerned with handling of the vehicle ad application of the above systems.

Opis:
The paper reveals peculiarities of a vehicle movement/operation on road curves when the road surface is slippery and/or snowy, with asphalt ruts. The survey of scientific works related to the lateral acceleration and movement dynamics of a vehicle is presented. Field experiments with different vehicles were carried out in winter conditions. The acceleration value and stability parameters depending on the speed of a vehicle and adhesion coefficient on road curves are analysed. Dependence of the vehicle lateral acceleration on road curves with various adhesion surfaces are given in graphical charts. Recommendations how to improve road safety by limitation of the speed in winter conditions are formulated. Finally, basic conclusions are given. Handling the vehicle on the road with the compressed snow surface (on the curve of the radius of 120 m) is much more dangerous when the adhesion coefficient of the wheels and the road is low if compared to handling the vehicle along the dry ruts at the same speed. When the vehicle moves along the curve of 120 m radius at a speed of 70 km/h, and the road surface is snowy, the lateral acceleration of 3.1 m/s2 is reached. The paper indicates that lateral acceleration of 3.1 m/s2 can be reached while moving along the snowy road with dry ruts at a speed higher in 27% (90 km/h). For improving the vehicle safety, it is recommended to have road signs on sharp turns/curves (R less than 120 m) to decrease the vehicle speed in 20 km/h.

Opis:
The paper offers analysis of the effect of different types of tyres and tyre inflation pressure on the measurements of shock-absorber efficiency. Testing was carried out in accordance with the EUSAMA method for testing shock-absorbers' efficiency using test stand "Safeline 400/800". Literature review presents a survey of the most up-to-date studies regarding the topic under consideration in this particular paper. For the purpose of research, heavily used summer tyres and slightly worn winter tyres were selected. The effect of air pressure in tyres (varied in range of [1.6 ... 3.0] bar) on the variation of shock-absorber efficiency has been assessed. The correlation between vibration inducing platform and vertical acceleration of the wheel has been examined. Findings obtained through research are depicted graphically. Results about shock absorbers efficiency variation because of the tyres types and pressure and wheel's replication of the vertical acceleration of the vibrating test plate are summarized and conclusions are drawn at the end.

In this paper, the friction characteristics of a vehicle equipped with skidcar system are analyzed. Skidcar system with attached additional wheels helps to regulate the adhesion with the road surface. Easy slipping vehicle is a useful device for driving skills improvement, carrying out various vehicle dynamics and control research activities. Important reason of skidcar systems is an ability to set low friction values in dry and good contact road conditions. Regulation of friction characteristics extends the limits of the system operation. In this case, the identification of friction characteristics is important. Vertical load of wheels and critical horizontal forces are measured in each operating mode by changing skidcar system height. Furthermore, IS04138 driving manoeuvre is performed to measure the vehicle accelerations, oscillations and slip parameters for friction evaluation in dynamic state. The performed analysis could be useful for drivers training and for further vehicle stability and control researches upon using skidcar system.
Šiame straipsnyje yra nagrinėjamos automobilio sukibimo charakteristikos naudojant slydimo sistemą. Slydimo sistema su primontuotais papildomais ratais suteikia galimybę reguliuoti automobilio sukibimą su kelio paviršiumi. Lengvai slystantis automobilis yra naudinga priemonė tobulinant vairavimo įgūdžius, atliekant įvairius automobilio dinamikos ir valdymo tyrimus. Svarbus slydimo sistemos privalumas yra tas, kad yra galimybė nustatyti mažas sukibimo reikšmes esant sausam ir gero sukibimo kelio paviršiui. Sukibimo charakteristikų reguliavimas praplečia sistemos panaudojimo sritis, todėl yra svarbu tiksliai įvertinti sukibimo charakteristikas. Skirtingais veikimo režimais keičiant sistemos pakėlimo aukštį yra matuojamos ratų vertikalios apkrovos ir kritinės horizontalios jėgos. Nustatant dinaminį sukibimą yra atliekamas važiavimo manevras pagal ISO 4138 standartą ir matuojami automobilį veikiantys pagreičiai, svyravimai ir slydimo parametrai. Atlikta analizė naudinga vairuotojų rengimui ir kitiems automobilio stabilumo ir valdymo tyrimams, naudojantslydimo sistemą.
