Jednym z ważnych czynników niezawodnego funkcjonowania zelektryfikowanego transportu szynowego jest utrzymanie w dobrym stanie technicznym odbieraków prądu pojazdów. Uszkodzenie lub niepoprawna regulacja odbieraka pogarsza warunki odbioru prądu, a nawet może doprowadzić do awarii trakcyjnej sieci jezdnej. Rozwój techniki oraz rosnąca świadomość techniczna skłaniają do opracowywania nowych metod diagnostycznych, zwiększających zakres i precyzję kontroli odbieraków oraz skracających czas badania. Przedstawiono przegląd nowoczesnych rozwiązań stanowisk diagnostyki i monitoringu odbieraków prądu – wdrożonych do eksploatacji oraz będących efektem prac badawczych. Omówiono wymagany zakres diagnostyki. Przedstawiono stanowisko do wyznaczania charakterystyki statycznej podczas przejazdu lokomotywy przez opomiarowany odcinek toru. Zaprezentowano stanowisko monitoringu odbieraków prądu na linii kolejowej MOP. Zaproponowano wykorzystanie systemu skanowania trójwymiarowego do oceny zużycia i wykrywania uszkodzeń nakładek stykowych odbieraków WINS. Przedstawiono rozwiązanie przenośnego stanowiska do badania odbieraków prądu taboru miejskiego i kolejowego.
Technical condition of vehicles’ current collectors has significant impact on safe and punctual operation of railway transportation. Failure or maladjustment of a current collector may lead to serious damage of catenary. To avoid such a situation the periodic diagnostic and service is necessary. Recent development in the field of measurement tools leads to extension of the range of diagnostics, increase of the measurement precision and shortening of maintenance time. On the other hand pantograph monitoring stands are developed in order to detect the clearly faulty current collectors. The review of modern monitoring and diagnostics stands is presented. The range of pantographs’ diagnostics was described. A test stand for determination of current collectors’ uplift when the vehicle passes a sensored railway line section was presented. For brief assessment of current collectors on vehicles passing through a check point at the rail line a specialized monitoring system was introduced. The 3D scanning tool was proposed for wear estimation and damages detection of pantographs’ contact strips. Finally the mobile stand for urban and rail transport current collectors’ was described.

Dla zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa i niezawodności eksploatacyjnej transportu kolejowego kluczowe znaczenie techniczne ma układ odbioru prądu z sieci jezdnej przez poruszające się pojazdy. Jego poprawne działanie zależy m.in. od prawidłowej regulacji zarówno sieci jezdnej, jak i odbieraka prądu. W artykule przedstawiono przegląd różnych metod i urządzeń diagnostyki i monitoringu trakcyjnych odbieraków prądu oraz sieci trakcyjnej, stosowanych przez zarządy transportu kolejowego. Omówiono strukturę i wyniki eksploatacji wdrożonych rozwiązań krajowych oraz wybranych układów eksperymentalnych i projektów badawczych. Przedstawiono wdrażany aktualnie skomputeryzowany i działający w pełni automatycznie system monitoringu odbieraków prądu, oparty na bezstykowych metodach pomiaru.
The proper operation of the system of current collection from the traction network by moving vehicles is a key condition to ensure operational safety and reliability of the rail transport. It depends among others from proper maintenance of both the network and the current collectors. The article presents an over-view of various methods and eąuipment for diagnostics and monitoring of traction current collector and of the overhead line used by the managements of rail transportation. The structure and results of the implemented solutions on the PKP railway network are described, as well as selected experimental systems and research projects - all of which were developed by the team of Department of Electrical Engineering in Transport from Gdańsk University of Technology. The new computerized and fully automatic system for monitoring of traction current collectors, based on the contactless measurement methods, currently implemented on the PKP line, is also presented in the paper.

W artykule zaprezentowano model trakcyjnego układu napędowego dla elektrycznego pojazdu kolejowego. Model utworzono w środowisku Matlab/Simulink. Odwzorowuje on działanie silników indukcyjnych z algorytmem sterowania silnika według metody polowo-zorientowanej RFOC z regulatorami prądów typu PI z ograniczeniami sygnałów wyjściowych. Model sparametryzowano oraz przetestowano w zakresie poprawności działania. Uzyskane wyniki symulacyjne zweryfikowano z przebiegami rzeczywistymi uzyskanymi podczas jazdy na odcinku testowym. Opracowany model umożliwia wygodną analizę parametrów pojazdu. Wyznaczono energochłonność pojazdu z uwzględnieniem wpływu parametrów sterowania.
The paper describes a model of the traction drive system for electric railway vehicle. The drive train of ED-74 electric unit equipped with inverter-fed induction motors was modeled in Matlab/Simulink. It simulates the operation of the induction motors with the control algorithm according to the field-oriented RFOC method with PI current controllers with the limit values of the output signals and the input fllter. Model was parameterized and tested for correct operation. The results simulation was verified with the actual data obtained while driving the test distance. Chosen simulation results were presented and discussed. The model allows the convenient analysis of vehicle parameters. Vehicle energy consumption was determined taking into account effect of parameters control.

For many years, satellite systems have seen widespread use in a variety of technical applications, as well as in operations related to setting-out and the exploitation of track infrastructure. Their main applications include an inventory of the trackage course and detecting changes in its position. In both of these tasks, the most important element that determines the quality of an analyses is the high accuracy of the determinations being carried out. Satellite surveying techniques are not always sufficiently accurate, and in such cases, it is necessary to employ other land surveying methods to process surveying data. This article presents the authors’ considerations with regards to the possibility of applying one of the most common land surveying adjustment methods, the parametric method, to operations related to an inventory of tram infrastructure in Gdańsk. The results are based on surveys carried out during a surveying campaign in the autumn of 2018. The considerations presented in the article concern a small part of the research conducted under project No. POIR.04.01.01-00-0017/17 entitled “Development of an innovative method for determining the precise trajectory of a railborne vehicle” which is being implemented by a consortium of Gdansk University of Technology and Gdynia Maritime University

Opis:
Determining the course of a railway track axis using satellite methods relies on ensuring the precise assembly of GNSS receivers in dedicated measuring devices. Depending on the number of receivers, solutions that are based on placing the apparatus directly above the railway track axis (as well as in eccentric positions) are used to indirectly obtain data to form the basis of the desired results. This publication describes the installation of five GNSS receivers on a mobile measuring platform as part of the InnoSatTrack project. The methodology and the procedure of the geodetic measurements required to obtain the geometrical configuration of the measuring apparatus, specified in the technical project, are presented. The publication presents the principles of total station measurement methods as well as the steps taken to achieve precise results from staking out. The process of acquiring the same configuration of the GNSS receivers, based on the geometry of the squares on the two measuring platforms that were used in the research, has been shown. The final determination of the position of the receivers did not exceed an error of 0.010 m with an average error of 0.003 m, despite the occurrence of mounting difficulties. The results have demonstrated the high credibility and effectiveness of the presented solution.

Each year, global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) improve their accuracy, availability, continuity, integrity, and reliability. Due to these continual improvements, the systems are increasingly used in various modes of transport, including rail transport, the subject of this publication. GNSS are used for rail passenger information, rail traffic management, and rail traffic control. These applications differ in the positioning requirements that satellite navigation systems must meet. This article presents the methods and systems of rolling stock location and tracking using the Polish State Railways (PKP) as an example. The information on the equipment used for train positioning is not specified anywhere, hence they may differ, even for the same multiple units travelling in different parts of the country. In addition, the publication presents the progress of the European Train Control System (ETCS) implementation by the PKP.

Opis:
This article examines one of the basic issues related to the technique of mobile satellite measurements in railway tracks. This problem concerns the correction of the determined coordinates of the track centerline. The need to perform this operation results from the GNSS receivers positioning at a certain height above the level of the existing track axis, leading to longitudinal and lateral shifts of antennas. The key problem here is the determination of the local horizontal coordinate system in each measured position. For the analysis, the authors defined the directional baseline vector of the measuring platform on the basis of positions given by two satellite antennas, positioned over the pivots of its bogies. This work presents the procedure for determining the corrections values.
W pracy poruszono jedną z podstawowych kwestii związanych z techniką mobilnych pomiarów satelitarnych w torze kolejowym – korygowanie wyznaczonych współrzędnych osi toru. Konieczność przeprowadzenia tej operacji wynika z ustawienia anten GNSS na pewnej wysokości nad poziomem istniejącej osi toru, przy występowaniu jego pochylenia w kierunku podłużnym i poprzecznym. Kluczowym problemem staje się przy tym konieczność określania w każdym punkcie pomiarowym kierunków osi układu współrzędnych w płaszczyźnie poziomej. W omawianej metodzie posłużono się kierunkowym wektorem bazowym, wyznaczonym na podstawie współrzędnych anten usytuowanych nad czopami skrętów obydwu wózków platformy. W pracy przedstawiono procedurę określania wartości korekt.

The article discusses the applicability of a novel method to determine horizontal curvature of the railway track axis based on results of mobile satellite measurements. The method is based on inclination angle changes of a moving chord in the Cartesian coordinate system. In the presented case, the variant referred to as the method of two virtual chords is applied. It consists in maneuvering with only one GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) receiver. The assumptions of the novel method are formulated, and an assessment of its application in the performed campaign of mobile satellite measurements is presented. The shape of the measured railway axis is shown in the national spatial reference system PL-2000, and the speed of the measuring trolley during measurement is calculated based on the recorded coordinates. It has been observed that over the test section, the curvature ordinates differ from the expected waveform, which can be caused by disturbances of the measuring trolley trajectory. However, this problem can easily be overcome by filtering the measured track axis ordinates to obtain the correct shape – this refers to all track segments: straight sections, circular arcs and transition curves. The virtual chord method can also constitute the basis for assessing the quality of the recorded satellite signal. The performed analysis has shown high accuracy of the measuring process.

The new meteorite was bought as one single stone in 2019 from a dealer in Niger by Tomasz Jakubowski. The meteorite has fusion crust. It contains chondrules of different types with dominance of barred olivine chondrules, with diameter to 1.5 mm. Px and Ol are 78.1 vol%. of the meteorite mass. Pl is up 11.8 vol%. Average fayalite content is 24.93. Metallic phases are 3.0 vol%. Troilite is up to 5.9 vol%. Spinel (Cr-spinel) is up to 0.9 vol%. Average content of the secondary Fe-rich minerals (e.g. hydroxides) is 0.4 vol%. Feldspar composition is: Ab80.2Or5.0An14.8. Mean content of Al2O3, MgO and TiO2 in chromium spinel is 6.70 wt%, 2.05 wt% and 2.02 wt%, respectively. Metal phases are kamacite and tetrataenite. The kamacite has a Ni content in the range 5.83–6.81 wt%, while the Co content is in the range 0.39 to 0.56 wt%. Tetrataenite is has Ni content from 49.68 to 50.46 wt%, and Co up to 0.05 wt%. High-Ca monoclinic pyroxene, similar to diopside, is very rare. Accessory minerals are: chlorapatite and merrylite. Base on chemistry and petrography, the meteorite is classified as ordinary chondrite (L5). The main mass, a 9190 g specimen, is in Krzysztof Socha private collection. Small fragments with the total mass 71 g are stored in Museum of Earth Sciences (catalogue no: WNoZ/Mt/110) at University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland. 39 g was used for thin-section preparation and spectroscopic investigation (Mössbauer spectroscopy).

Research background: The evaluation of the predictive strength of MIP indicators in relation to crises is extremely important for the process of coordinating the economic policies of the EU countries. MIP is one of the pillars of the economic crisis prevention procedure. Predictive power of individual indicators has not been tested before their introduction. Purpose of the article: Evaluation of the predictive strength of fourteen MIP indicators in relation to multidimensional crises in the EU countries. Methods: We used ordered probit model to test the ability of MIP indicators to correctly predict episodes of ?multidimensional crises? (as defined by the authors) in the period between 2008 and 2017 in all EU Member States. Findings & Value added: We defined ?multidimensional crises?, combining several negative phenomena into one limited dependent variable. This work is also novel in its application of probit regression to test the predictive strength of MIP indicators with an ordered probit model. We identified five MIP variables which were statistically significant in predicting ?multidimensional crises? for all EU countries: net international investment position, nominal unit labour cost index, house price index, private sector credit flow and general government gross debt. Other variables turned out to be less important or not effective in crises prediction.

In this study, the new ordinary chondrite LL4-6 from the Leoncin Community, Poland is reported. This meteorite was sold on Allegro, a Polish online e-commerce platform, to a person, who is member of the Meteoritic Society of Poland. The meteorite was sold in 2017, but originally the fall was in 2012. Finder of the meteorite from the Nowe Gniewniewice Village (Leoncin Community) claimed that the meteorite was still warm (the higher temperature was result after hit in the roof) after fall and made a whole in metal roof (which was repaired soon after the fall). For five years after fall of the meteorite, it stayed in the finder hands. The total known weight of the meteorite is 111.3 g. The main mass is in the M. Burski’s collection (~70 g). Two plates with the total mass 20 g are stored at the Earth Science Museum, Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland. The meteorite is strongly brecciated. All clasts are rounded, reaching up to 1 cm in size. The matrix is very fine grained. The biggest as well as clasts are represented by complex olivine-feldspar chondrule. Numerous clasts do not have any chondrules or their fragments as well. The fusion crust of the Leoncin meteorite is typical, having porous and glassy (isotropic) the most external part. The glassy zone is rich in Cr-rich spinels, where relicts of unmolten olivines and pyroxenes are present. The next zone is so-called the black vein zone. The veins are represented my metallic phases or Fe sulphide. The most common mineral in the fresh meteorite is olivine, having Fo and Fa up to 69 and 31, respectively. Pyroxenes are characterised by a general chemical formulae as follow: Fs9.78–9.7 Wo44.77–44.2 En46.02–45.53. Almost all feldspars are represented by plagioclases (Ab83.5–86.76Or2.54–5.53An9.42–12.5). Metallic phases are mostly represented by kamacite, taenite and rare tetrataenite (the richest in Ni phase; 55.92–49.21 wt.%). Troilite, spinel, ilmenite, apatite and merrillite are also noted. Based on chemical composition of investigated minerals, the Leoncin meteorite can by classified as a LL ordinary chondrite. It has been confirmed by fayalite content (avg. 30.33%) as well as the forsterite content in pyroxenes (avg. 25.32%). Brecciating of the meteorite, the same mineral content of the chondrules and their matrix shows that the meteorite is an example of monomictic breccia. Metamorphic changes of the clasts, their quality, size and mineral content, together with the chemical composition of selected minerals, indicate the LL4-6 type of the meteorites. The Leoncin meteorite seems to be a regolith, that formed far from the collision place on the asteroid. This situation is confirmed by the limitation of gassy material only to the fusion crust and lack of shock changes in the minerals. The parent body might be similar to the 25143 Itokawa asteroid or has connection with the Flora family.

The U-Pb system is a useful chronometer for understanding the formation history of chondritic materials. Modern studies showed that the formation ages of chondrites (4.55–4.56 Ga) effectively equal the formation age of the solar system. Recently, researchers have undertaken U-Pb isotopic studies of phosphates separated from equilibrated ordinary chondrites, which are the major hosts for U and are enriched by an order of magnitude or more relative to the bulk rock (typical U concentrations of 0.1–3 ppm in phosphates). The observed Pb-Pb model ages for these phosphates range from 4.563–4.502 Ga, with an analytical precision of 1 Ma and the U-Pb system is apparently concordant. They also argued that the Pb-Pb ages of the phosphates from several H chondrites show a negative correlation with metamorphic grade. They concluded that thermal processing of the equilibrated chondrites took place over a 60 Ma interval and grain size of the phosphates increases with the degree of metamorphism. In the Leoncin meteorite, apatite reveal the 207Pb/206Pb age, which is 4549±61 Ma. The obtained apatite age in the Leoncin meteorite reflects the early solar system formation process. Moreover, the age is an example of the early solar system metamorphism, which confirms a slightly younger event of secondary changes of the parent body for this meteorite. It is also the first isotopic age of a Polish meteorite.

Undoubtedly, the river transport is very important in tektites distribution. Most of the moldavites are located in fluvial sediments, what indicates their redeposition origin. Similar situation is on the territory of Poland. Finding of the autochthonous Polish tektites seems very difficult and requires further fieldworks.

Up to now, twenty Polish moldavites were recovered from fluvial deposits of Gozdnica formation. Apart from typical bottle green colour, moldavites also yield other typical features for tektites like presence of bubbles and inclusions of lechatelierite. Low degree of corrosion and palaeogeography suggest river transport flow from Lusatia to the east direction in the Miocene.

The first Polish moldavites were discovered in 2012. This paper is a summary of the distribution and inventory of these Polish tektites. Up to the present, 28 moldavites have been described from seven different sandpits. These moldavites were deposited in the upper Miocene fluvial deposits of the Gozdnica Formation, as well as in the Pleistocene river terraces. Apart from a typical bottle green colour, moldavites also have other diagnostics features for this class of tektites, such as the presence of bubbles, inclusions oflechatelierite, as well as the same, homogeneous chemical composition. Fluvial redeposition was interpreted as the main process which determined moldavite distribution. Despite the most recent find of one moldavite specimen in Bielawy, all of these specimens indicate both Lusatian as well as sub-strewn Czech fields as their supply area.
