Opis:
A copper-zinc bath containing EDTA was used for deposition of multi-functional copper-zinc coatings. Copper substrates were used for pulse electrodeposition of copper-zinc coating. Microhardness and wear resistance of copper-zinc coatings has been studied. The films were characterized by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. EDS and EDS-dot mapping were also performed to analyse the amount and the distribution of Cu-Zn atoms.

Opis:
Some important properties of the electrolytes used in Li-air batteries were investigated. Electrolyte composed of a solution of 1 M LiPF₆ in tetra ethylene glycol dimethyl ether (TEGDME) was reinforced with SiO₂, Al₂O₃, poly(ethylene) oxide (PEO) and tris (pentafluorophenyl) borane (TPFPB) additives. The effects of these reinforcements on conductivity, viscosity and thermal stability were investigated. Electrical conductivity tests were carried out using a multiparameter meter. Viscosity tests were performed in a viscometer using tuning-fork vibration method. Thermal stability of the electrolytes was tested by both TG and DSC.

In this study, silicon/multi-wall carbon nanotube (Si/MWCNT) and silicon/molybdenum/multi-wall carbon nanotube (Si/Mo/MWCNT) composites were produced by high speed planetary ball milling. Produced Si/MWCNT composite containing 50 wt.% Si and 50 wt.% MWCNT and dispersingdifferent amount of molybdenum nanopowders (1 wt.%, 3 wt.% and 5 wt.%) Si/Mo/MWCNT composites were produced by high speed planetary ball milling. Surface morphology of produced composite electrodes was characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and EDS dot-map analyze was performed to investigate dispersion of MWCNT and molybdenum powders in the composite structure. X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique was carried out to investigate structure of produced Si/Mo/MWCNT composites. Electrochemical performance of the electrodes were tested between 50 mV and 1.5 V in CR2016 test cell.

Opis:
SiO₂ and Al₂O₃ nano fillers were added to an electrolyte composed of a solution 1 M LiPF₆ in tetra ethylene glycol dimethyl ether (TEGDME) and the effects of these nano powders on capacity and cycling performances were investigated. Galvanostatic charge/discharge (GC) measurements were performed in the assembled Li-air cells by using the nanocomposite electrolytes. The discharge capacities of these cells were cyclically tested by a battery tester at a constant current in the voltage range between 2.15 V and 4.25 V. Discharge products of nanocomposite electrolytes were characterized by SEM and XRD spectroscopies. The electrochemical results demonstrated that Al₂O₃ reinforced electrolyte showed higher discharge capacity and cyclability than those of SiO₂ reinforced electrolyte.

In this work, Sn-Cu composite powders were produced using an electroless process. The tin content on the surface of copper powders was varied by using different concentrations of SnSO₄ in the plating bath. The surface morphology of the produced Sn-Cu composite powders was characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) was used to determine the elemental surface composition of the composites. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis was performed to investigate the structure of the Sn-Cu composite powders. The electrochemical performance of Sn-Cu nanocomposites was studied by charge/discharge tests.

Opis:
In this study, female gametophytes of Silene muradica, which is a gynodioecious species, were examined histologically. Buds and blossoms of S. muradica were used as the research material. They were collected in the Sivas province (Turkey) in July 2019, and fixed with ethanol:acetic acid solution (3:1, v/v). Flower parts were dissected under a stereo microscope. They were dehydrated in rising alcohol series and then embedded in Historesin. The sections were taken by a rotary microtome and stained with 0.5% Toluidine blue O. The ovary of S. muradica has three carpels and a single chamber, the ovules are arranged on a central column. The mature ovule is of the campylotropous type, crassinucellate and bitegmig. The megaspore mother cell undergoes regular meiotic division and forms a linear megaspore tetrad after meiosis. The development of the embryo sac is monosporic. The chalazal megaspore is functional and the others degenerate. The mature embryo sac is eight-nucleated and of the Polygonum type. The synergid cells and the egg cell are completely surrounded by the cell wall. Antipodal cells are temporary cells, which degenerate immediately after fertilization. Before fertilization, polar nuclei are fused in the central cell and form the secondary nucleus. The endosperm development is of the nuclear type. Nucellar tissue is permanent and forms perisperm in mature seeds. The embryo development is of the Caryophyllad type. In this study, the development of the female gametophyte of S. muradica, which was determined to be a gynodioecious species, was reported for the first time.

Opis:
This study describes the synthesis of silane terminated urethane, aimed at adding into epoxy acrylate, for the coating purposes. For this aim, firstly, silane terminated urethane was synthesized by the reaction between poly(hexamethylene carbonate) diol and 3-isocyanatopropyltrimethoxysilane. Pre-hydrolyzed TEOS and MEMO mixture was added to the silane terminated urethane. This solution was then mixed with organic part (epoxy acrylate and HDDA) to obtain hybrid solutions. Different organic-inorganic hybrid formulations were applied on polystyrene sheet surfaces by using applicators. The performance of the coatings on polystyrene sheets was investigated by applying physical and chemical tests. The results have shown that physical and chemical properties of polystyrene sheet surfaces were significantly improved.

Opis:
In a general regression neural network (GRNN), the number of neurons in the pattern layer is proportional to the number of training samples in the dataset. The use of a GRNN in applications that have relatively large datasets becomes troublesome due to the architecture and speed required. The great number of neurons in the pattern layer requires a substantial increase in memory usage and causes a substantial decrease in calculation speed. Therefore, there is a strong need for pattern layer size reduction. In this study, a self-organizing map (SOM) structure is introduced as a pre-processor for the GRNN. First, an SOM is generated for the training dataset. Second, each training record is labelled with the most similar map unit. Lastly, when a new test record is applied to the network, the most similar map units are detected, and the training data that have the same labels as the detected units are fed into the network instead of the entire training dataset. This scheme enables a considerable reduction in the pattern layer size. The proposed hybrid model was evaluated by using fifteen benchmark test functions and eight different UCI datasets. According to the simulation results, the proposed model significantly simplifies the GRNN’s structure without any performance loss.
