Opis:
W pracy przedstawiono budowę anatomiczną kręgu i krążka międzykręgowego. Opisano funkcjonowanie kręgosłupa, jego kinematykę oraz oddziaływania międzykręgowe. Stworzono pełny trójwymiarowy model kręgów lędźwiowych L2 – L4. Na ich podstawie skonstruowano model endoprotezy krążka międzykręgowego (pomiędzy L2 i L3). Opracowano uproszczony model sztucznego krążka międzykręgowego sformułowany metodą elementów skończonych, który posłużył do analizy biomechanicznej. Dokonano obliczeń wytrzymałościowych oraz wyciągnięto odpowiednie wnioski. Prezentowane wyniki przedstawiają zachowanie się trójwymiarowego modelu kręgu lędźwiowego przy zastosowaniu endoprotezy krążka międzykręgowego pod wpływem działania obciążeń.
In the hereby thesis the anatomy of the lumbar vertebra and intervertebral disc were presented. Functioning and kinematics of the spine and intervertebral forces were described.Full three – dimensional model of the lumbar vertebrae L2 – L4 was created. On the basis of it model of artificial intervertebral disc was constructed (between L2 and L3). The simplified model of vertebra L2 was formulated via finite elements method. Processed model has been used for biomechanical analysis.Strength calculations were made and appropriate conclusions were drawn. Presented results show behavior influenced of three – dimensional model of the lumbar vertebra with artificial intervertebral disc by operation of loads.

W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań in vitro wybranych właściwości reologicznych i tribologicznych naturalnej cieczy synowialnej, pobranej od pacjentów po urazie kolana. Oceniano lepkość dynamiczną w funkcji prędkości ścinania oraz współczynnik tarcia dla pary tribologicznej, wykonanej ze stopu kobaltu, testowanej w środowisku mazi stawowej. Otrzymane wyniki badań wykazały różnice pomiędzy testowanymi próbkami w zakresie przeprowadzonych badań.
The aim of the work was the assessment of rheological and tribological properties of natural synovial fluids from patients with knee trauma. A viscosity in function of shear rate and coefficient of friction were evaluated. Wear tests were made using pin-on-disc tester in a synovial fluid environment. The obtained results clearly indicate differences between synovial samples.

Opis:
In the registration process as well as classification and putting into service of mopeds, motorcycles and quadricycles, very important is a proper use of precise technical nomenclature and definitions. This nomenclature and definitions would be used during the whole vehicle's lifetime (e.g. taxation, insurance, driving licensing, trial verdicts etc.). Engine capacity and power, maximum design speed, number of wheels, masses of vehicle is just an example of the terms, which always play an extremely significant role. There are numerous disputes on how to describe some of the crucial vehicle design features and general purpose. Those disputes are more and more frequently an essential aspect of administrative hearings and trials. Especially for L-category vehicles, many difficult regulations have been recently introduced. This situation may cause well grounded confusion. During the periodical technical inspection, it is not uncommon that vehicle owner urges the technical staff to classify his motorcycle as a moped. As the European authorities have already taken notice of the issues in question, EU law has been introduced, in order to prevent such irregularities. Paper presents views of the Harley - Davidson V-ROD VRSCAW motorcycle the TGB R50X moped, the Suzuki Ozark 250 quadricycle and the Honda TRX450R quadricycle.
Niniejsze opracowanie stanowi uzupełnienie tematu „problemy klasyfikacyjne w procesie rejestracji i dopuszczania do ruchu motorowerów, motocykli i czterokołowców" i ma na celu opisanie stosowanego w przepisach nazewnictwa przedmiotowych pojazdów i innych cech technicznych mających istotne znaczenie prawne. Precyzja stosowania pojęć podczas postępowań prawnych i administracyjnych jest istotnym zagadnieniem klasyfikacji pojazdów. Spory dotyczące wskazania istotnych cech pojazdów które opisywałyby jednoznacznie konstrukcyjne przeznaczenie pojazdu należą w ostatnich latach do jednych z częściej spotykanych aspektów postępowań prawnych przed sądami i urzędami administracyjnymi. Prawidłowa klasyfikacja pojazdów ma istotne znaczenie dla wielu systemów prawnych w tym podatkowych, w zakresie praw jazdy, zasad ruchu drogowego, itd. niestety często jest nie odpowiednio stosowana lub doceniana.

W artykule przybliżono temat ewidencjonowania i klasyfikacji pojazdów w Polsce. Przytoczone zostały zarówno wybrane obowiązujące przepisy, jak również podstawowe zasady stosowane w przedmiotowym zakresie. Od 2004 roku w celu ujednolicenia klasyfikacji pojazdów oraz usprawnienia ich weryfikacji, do procedur stosowanych podczas rejestracji pojazdów włączono system pomocniczy, tj. elektroniczny katalog marek i typów pojazdów homologowanych oraz dopuszczonych do ruchu na terytorium Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej opracowywany przez Instytut Transportu Samochodowego tzw. Katalog ITS.
The article brings closer the topic of records and classification of vehicles in Poland. Quoted have been, both selected the applicable laws as well as fundamental principles applied in the field. Since 2004, in order to harmonize the vehicles classification and improve their verification, the procedures used during the registration of vehicles have been supplemented by the auxiliary system, i.e. the electronic catalogue of makes and type-approved vehicles admitted to the operation in the territory of the Polish Republic elaborated by the Motor Transport Institute so-called “The ITS Catalogue”.

The paper presents results of the preliminary structural analysis of socket inlays model of the endoprosthesis of the hip joint. Basics of anatomy and biomechanical analysis of the hip joint were introduced. The prototype of socket inlay of the hip endoprosthesis was modeled using Solid Edge ST8 software. After determining physical properties of structural materials for socket inlays, the Finite Elements Analysis of the model was conducted using SolidWorks software under various load conditions. Finally the results of analysis were presented.
W pracy przedstawiono wyniki wstępnej analizy strukturalnej wkładki endoprotezy stawu biodrowego. Zaprezentowano podstawowe informacje z anatomii oraz biomechaniki stawu biodrowego. Model wkładki endoprotezy wykonano z wykorzystaniem oprogramowania Solid Edge ST8. Po określeniu właściwości fizycznych materiałów stosowanych na wkładki endoprotezy przeprowadzono analizę Metodą Elementów Skończonych w programie SolidWorks dla różnych warunków obciążenia. Zaprezentowano uzyskane wyniki.

The paper presents the results of a preliminary study on the structural analysis of the hip joint, taking into account changes in the mechanical properties of the articular cartilage of the joint. Studies have been made due to the need to determine the tension distribution occurring in the cartilage of the human hip. These distribution are the starting point for designing custom made human hip prosthesis. Basic anatomy, biomechanical analysis of the hip joint and articular cartilage are introduced. The mechanical analysis of the hip joint model is conducted. Final results of analysis are presented. Main conclusions of the study are: the capability of absorbing loads by articular cartilage of the hip joint is preliminary determined as decreasing with increasing degenerations of the cartilage and with age of a patient. Without further information on changes of cartilage’s mechanical parameters in time it is hard to determine the nature of relation between mentioned capability and these parameters.

The paper reports on actual operational characteristics of the PF-1000 facility and it presents results of the first neutron experiments performed with a new set of large Mather-type electrodes, which were designed for shots up to 1000 kJ. Dynamics of a current-sheath was studied by means of two high-speed streak cameras and a two-frame camera. The last one was used for the side-on observation of the pinch column. The high-speed streak pictures were taken side-on behind slits oriented in the radial or axial direction. On the basis of the pictures taken behind the radial slit, average values of the radial compression and expansion velocities were estimated. Time-resolved X-ray signals were measured with PIN diodes covered by different filters, and they were compared with other traces (voltage waveforms, dI/dt signals, and neutron-induced pulses) in order to determine their correlation. The total neutron yield (Ytot), i.e. the number of neutrons produced during a single discharge and emitted in various directions, was measured by means of several silver-activation detectors placed at different angles around the PF-1000 experimental chamber.

A review of results on the design and operation of the new efficient Dense Plasma Focus device PF-6 of medium size (transportable) having bank energy of ca. 7 kJ and possessing a long lifetime is presented. New data on the interaction of the pulsed fast ion beams and dense plasma streams generated at this apparatus with various materials are given. These results are compared with the analogous information received at the biggest facility PF-1000. It is shown that it is possible to have about the same power flux density (in the range of 105 109 W/cm2) in both devices however in different areas. Doses of soft X-rays produced by the device within the resists for the goals of microlithography and micromachining appear to be several times less that it is with the conventional X-ray tube. In biological application of this device, medium- and hard-energy X-rays are exploited in the field of radioenzymology. It was found that the necessary dose producing activation/inactivation of enzymes can be by several orders of magnitude lower if used at a high-power flux density in comparison with those received with isotope sources. In medicine, short-life isotope production for the goals of the positron emission tomography (medicine diagnostics) is possible by means of the fast ions generated within DPF. All these experiments are discussed in the framework of pulsed radiation physics and chemistry in its perfect sense thereto the criteria are formulated.

Opis:
Krajowy system opłat za użytkowanie infrastruktury transportu jest uwarunkowany informacjami dotyczącymi podstawowych parametrów technicznych opisujących niektóre cechy pojazdu. Są to: dopuszczalna masa całkowita pojazdu, dopuszczalna masa całkowita zespołu pojazdów, liczba miejsc siedzących, kategoria (rodzaj) pojazdu, klasa emisji spalin pojazdu. Zasadniczym zagadnieniem dla prawidłowości działania systemu opłat jest wiarygodność przedmiotowych danych, możliwość ich ewentualnej weryfikacji oraz prawidłowej egzekucji kar w przypadku nieprawidłowości. Celem artykułu jest wykazanie możliwości wykorzystania w tym zakresie specjalistycznej bazy danych o nazwie "Katalog marek i typów pojazdów homologowanych oraz dopuszczonych do ruchu na terytorium Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej", opracowywanej przez Instytut Transportu Samochodowego. Katalog ITS wykorzystywany jest obecnie w systemie informatycznym rejestracji i ewidencji pojazdów. W przypadku potrzeby ustalania lub weryfikacji danych technicznych na potrzeby systemu opłat za użytkowanie infrastruktury transportu, Katalog ITS z powodzeniem mógłby stanowić profesjonalny, systemowy komponent. W pracy przedstawione zostaną możliwości katalogu ITS oraz istniejące lub brakujące rozwiązania legislacyjne, które obecnie utrudniają stosowanie aplikacji ITS w szerszym zakresie w transporcie drogowym. Wskazane zostaną również kierunki przewidywanych lub proponowanych zmian np. w zakresie struktury gromadzonych danych, a dotyczących wspierania administracji rządowych krajów członkowskich danymi technicznymi o pojazdach, które stosuje się lub można stosować na potrzeby systemów podatkowych, systemów opłat, ubezpieczeń, praw jazdy itd.
The national toll system for the use of transport infrastructure is conditioned by the information on the basic technical parameters describing some of the vehicle characteristics. These are: permissible gross vehicle weight, permissible gross weight of the vehicle set, the total number of seats, category (type) of vehicle, exhausts emissions class of the vehicle. The essential issue for the correct operation of the charging system is the credibility of this data, the possibility of their verification and proper enforcement of penalties in case of irregularities. The purpose of this article is to demonstrate the possibility of using, for this purpose, specialized database called a "Catalogue of makes and types of type-approved vehicles and those declared road-worthy on the territory of the Polish Republic", developed by the Motor Transport Institute. The ITS Catalogue is currently used in the computer system of vehicle registration and records. In case of the need to determine or verify the technical data to be used in the toll system for the use of transport infrastructure, the ITS Catalogue could successfully represent a professional system component. The article will present capabilities of the ITS Catalogue and the existing or missing legislative solutions, that currently impede the application of ITS product in a wider scope of the road transport. There will also be trends projected of the envisaged or proposed changes, e.g. concerning the structure of the data collected and relating to the support of state administration of the Member States, with the technical data for vehicles that are used or can be used for the purposes of tax systems, charging systems, insurance, driving licenses, etc.

The paper presents results of a 3D reconstruction of a congenital bilateral radio-ulnar synostosis. Basics of anatomy and biomechanical analysis of the elbow joint were introduced. Case report of a congenital bilateral radio-ulnar synostosis was presented. Based on the data from computed tomography imaging, the model of a congenital bilateral radio-ulnar synostosis was constructed. Basic information on reverse engineering, rapid prototyping and methods of making physical models are presented. The creation of physical models was aimed at pre-operative planning and conceptualization. Physical models were also used in the educational form at the stage of communication with the patient.

Opis:
In this paper we report on measurements of the energy spectra and other properties of the electron and fast ion beams emitted in the upstream and downstream direction along the z-axis of a large plasma focus device PF-1000, that was operated at 21-27 kV, delivering 290–480 kJ pulse. Measurements of the electron beam (EB) properties were performed using a magnetic analyzer. Properties of the ion beams were measured by means of pinhole cameras equipped with PM-355 nuclear track detectors and placed at various angles (0, 60 and 180 centigrade) to the discharge axis. Measurements revealed a complex spatial structure of the fast ion beams. The ion measurements behind the PF-1000 collector proved that some fast deuterons are emitted also in the upstream direction. Measurements of the EBs emitted in the upstream and downstream direction revealed electron energies in the range from approximately 40 keV to approximately 800 keV. These spectra confirm that in localized regions within the PF-1000 plasma column there appear strong fields accelerating charged particles in different directions along the discharge axis.
