Opis:
The effect of dextran concentration, pH, temperature, and urea on the conformation of dextran chain in saline solution were studied. Two characteristic concentrations for both dextrans were observed. One with c$\text{}_{1}$≈0.02 g/dL and second with c$\text{}_{2}$∼2 g/dL which may be related with aggregation and overlapping processes of polymer chains, respectively. The mean optical polarizability for dextran polysaccharides were discussed in relation to their radius of gyration. Preliminary results of the Faraday effect dispersion and their temperature dependence is also presented.

Opis:
Micro-Raman spectroscopy was used to studies of naturally occurring biogenic ferritin, synthetic ferritin with magnetic core (magnetoferritin) as well as their several mimetics. We demonstrate the ability of micro-Raman spectroscopy to discriminate between ferritin and magnetoferritin used in the studies. The results are promising for further use of the Raman spectroscopy as potential tool to distinguish between the forms of iron present in biogenic materials and biological tissues.

Opis:
Magnetic optical rotatory dispersion (MORD) of thin selected biological tissues and thin film of composite made from akaganeite mineral and PVA as well as ferritin and their mimetics aqueous suspensions were performed in spectral range 250-650 nm at room temperature. Good correlation between MORD spectra for akaganeite composite film, ferritin and their mimetics aqueous suspensions with spectra of thin slices of human tissue obtained from white matter of the brain and spleen were observed. Comparison suggest a contribution from Fe(III) to MORD spectra of tissues. This preliminary results show that application of MORD spectroscopy to clinical analysis may be useful.

The aim of the article is to present the issues related to the use of the transport model for ex-ante evaluation of the functional and operational configuration of ITS. Variants of ITS configuration have been presented based with use of ITS user needs from FRAME methodology and with use of ITS user services implemented in cities of Poland. The structure of the transport model on strategic level of traffic management has been presented in the context of the following impact of ITS configuration: changes in the use of paths in network, changes in the use of transport system modes, changes in the destinations of trips, and changes in the number of trips for various purposes. The results of transport model enable a comparison, using an incremental method, results of transport decisions of users, obtained in specified forecast horizons for the ITS variants of configuration. Structure of transport model presented in article is suitable for strategic level of traffic management with long-term results. While transport models for tactical level of traffic management with medium-term results, and for operational level of traffic management with short-term results are used to determine the characteristics, describing traffic conditions in a transport network, for example expected smoothness of traffic flows, and to determine dynamic characteristics describing for example information spread processes in dynamic traffic networks.

Opis:
The fertilization value of composted sewage sludge was estimated on the basis of pot experiments during three following vegetation periods with buckwheat sown twice (1998), oat and maize (1999) and oat again (2000). The availability of nitrogen, phosphorus, magnesium and zinc for tested plants was determined. Tested manure was obtained after 8 months of composting of the mixture of sewage sludge with 20% of sawdust and 3% of CaO. The compost moisture was 69%. The following contents of nutrients was found (g·kg⁻¹): N - 21.0, P - 5.47, K - 1.11, Mg - 3.22 and Zn - 1 204 mg·kg⁻¹. The C : N ratio was 17.4. Compost was applied in the first year of experiment in two doses 150 or 300 g per 6 kg of poor sandy loam acid soil. The application of compost to the soil resulted with a noticeable increase of the yield of dry matter of tested plants due to the privation of nutrients under the tested conditions. The uptake of nutrients noticeably increased, predominantly of phosphorus and magnesium. Total uptake of nitrogen, phosphorus and magnesium was at the level of 16.4%, 32.5% and 45% respectively, during 3 years of experiment with the incorporated lower dose of compost. The incorporation of a high dose of zinc with compost at both doses did not result with a significant increase of its uptake by plants due to the decrease of acidity. Fertilization of the tested soil with composted sewage sludge positively affects the physico-chemical properties of soil. The cation exchange capacity and the amount of available phosphorus and zinc were found to be improved and as the soil acidity was noticeable lower.
W doświadczeniu wazonowym oceniano dostępność azotu, fosforu, magnezu i cynku zawartych w kompoście z osadu ściekowego. W trzech kolejnych sezonach wegetacyjnych uprawiano dwukrotnie grykę (1998), owies i kukurydzę (1999) oraz owies (2000). Nawóz uzyskano kompostując przez 8 miesięcy osad ściekowy z 20% dodatkiem trocin oraz 3% CaO. Kompost zawierał 69% wody, a w suchej masie (g·kg⁻¹): 21,0 N, 5,47 P, 1,11 Ki 3,22 Mg oraz 1204 mg·kg⁻¹ Zn. Stosunek C : N wynosił 17,4. Nawóz ten zastosowano w pierwszym roku doświadczenia w dawkach: 150 i 300 g świeżej masy na wazon zawierający 6 kg gleby ubogiej w składniki pokarmowe. W warunkach niedostatku badanych pierwiastków, po zastosowaniu kompostu obserwowano znaczne przyrosty plonów oraz pobrania przede wszystkim fosforu i magnezu. Z niższej dawki kompostu, w okresie trzech lat, wykorzystanie azotu wyniosło zaledwie 16,4%, natomiast fosforu 32,5% a magnezu 45%. Duża ilość cynku wnoszonego w nawozie organicznym, w wyniku wzrostu pH gleby, nie powodowała znaczących przyrostów jego pobrania przez rośliny, zwłaszcza po zastosowaniu wyższej dawki kompostu. Nawożenie kompostem korzystnie wpłynęło na odczyn gleby, zwiększyło jej pojemność sorpcyjną oraz zawartość przyswajalnego fosforu i cynku.

The paper presents the problems of design and upgrading of ITS systems, supporting the transport processes associated with the end user. It was noted that the lack of adequate participation or end-user requirements into system design can lead to two groups of problems related to the functionality of ITS systems. First group of problems is incomplete and inconsistent functionality of various systems, resulting from the rejection by the designers of end users practical knowledge and life experience. The second group of problems is not use of full features of the systems by end users such as due to lack of training, lack of comprehensive instruction manual and the lack of sufficient knowledge of users. As examples presents results of surveys conducted in 2010 and 2012 among end users of rail systems such as: ISZTP - on-line train route ordering system, SEPE - operational registry system, SWDR - train dispatcher support system and SERWO - electronic record of current warnings issued.

Article discusses general issues of the real estate expropriation for the transport roads investment. In assumption, changes in Polish regulations should speed up the road building process. As a result of several amendments in Act on Specific Rules of Preparation and Performance of the Public Roads’ Investments there are many significant changes in the structure of the road investment performance.
W artykule omówiono problematykę związaną z pozyskiwaniem terenów przeznaczonych pod inwestycje dróg transportowych. Zmiany w polskich przepisach prawnych w założeniu powinny przyspieszyć proces budowy dróg. W wyniku przeprowadzonych nowelizacji ustawy o szczególnych zasadach przygotowania i realizacji inwestycji w zakresie dróg publicznych wprowadzono wiele zasadniczych zmian w konstrukcji procesu inwestycyjnego w zakresie dróg publicznych.

Process of European Standars (EN) implementation to Polish Standars (PN) archive results in improvement of actions connected with road investments performance. In the presence of constantly emerging new technical and organizing challenges some of regulations have to be modified. W wyniku nowelizacji przepisów o transporcie kolejowym i o realizacji dróg publicznych wprowadzono wiele zasadniczych zmian w konstrukcji procesu inwestycyjnego. Przepisy określają zasady nabywania nieruchomości pod inwestycje. W założeniu zmiany te powinny przyspieszyć procesy modernizacji linii kolejowych i budowy dróg. Artykuł przedstawia różnice w zasadach przygotowania inwestycji drogowych i kolejowych.
As a result of amendments in the railway transport and public roads performance regulations there are many significant changes in the structure of the investment process. Regulations specify the rules of the acquisition of real estates for investments. In assumption, these changes should speed up the railway lines upgrading and road building process. Differences between rules of the road and railway investments preparation are presented in this article.

Opis:
Purpose: Investigation of some parameters of energy storage devices (so-called supercapacitors) in which the structures of selected conductive polymers were implemented. Researchers were interested in the relationship between the parameters of the supercapacitor and the molecular structure of the conductive polymer used as the electrode material. Design/methodology/approach: The polypyrrole and its derivatives were produced by an electropolymerization process performed with cyclic voltammetry. During the research, polymer supercapacitors were created containing collectors made of ITO plates. Measurement of device parameters using cyclic voltammetry and chronopotentiometry. In addition, the devices use polymer electrolytes based on poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA). Findings: Devices containing polypyrrole have the best electrochemical parameters, while supercapacitors containing poly (phenylpyrrole) have the lowest parameters. This parameter is due to the high hindrance in the poly(phenylpyrrole) molecule in the form of an aromatic ring. Research limitations/implications: The most significant limitation of the devices is their durability due to the low strength of the conductive layer on ITO plates. This layer was easily degraded with too many test cycles. Practical implications: It was confirmed that polypyrrole and its derivatives could be used as electrode materials in energy storage devices. Originality/value: One of the few studies that allow the evaluation of the molecular structure of polypyrrole and its derivatives as electrode material in symmetrical supercapacitors.
