Opis:
The present transmission lines of populous cities will have to be changed with an ability to work at higher temperatures without any weight and cross section changes. Innovative thermal-resistant alloy conductors (T-ACSR) operate in the range of about 150-200°C instead of 75°C which is the standard ACSR type conductor service temperature. In this study, the manufacturing procedure of Al-Zr alloy wire, used as high-temperature conductor wires, have been introduced. The Al-Zr alloy has been cast in a permanent mold than being extruded to a diameter of 10 mm at 400°C. After that the extruded rods have been cold drawn to a diameter of 3.02 mm. Elongation and tensile strength values of the cold drawn wire have been achieved by tensile test at elevated temperatures. Also, microstructural analysis and dispersion hardening procedure have been investigated. The results show that tensile strength and thermal-resistant property are improved by the addition of Zr.

Opis:
In this study, the solid particle erosion behavior of solutionized, artificially aged (T6) and annealed aluminum alloy AA7075 has been investigated. The samples were eroded in solid particle erosion test equipment at 45° impingement angle and 75 m/s impingement velocity with 180 mesh garnet erodent particles. Afterwards, microstructures of solutionized, artificially aged and annealed samples of AA7075 alloy were analyzed. In order to figure out the effect of ductility on erosion rates, the Brinell hardness of the samples was measured. The surface morphology images of the samples were taken before and after the erosion test by using scanning electron microscope (SEM). The effects of the microstructures and the hardness on the erosion behavior of the different heat treated specimens were examined. Finally, SEM images of the samples were deeply analyzed and the erosion mechanisms which occurred on the surfaces of the samples were discussed.

Opis:
This paper deals with the application of six sigma methodology for optimization of a cardan shaft. The aim of this optimization is to reduce vibration of the drive shaft and consequently improve vibration noise harshness of the vehicle. The six sigma methodology has been applied to a light truck, which has received excessive vibration and noise complaints. The define-measure-analyze-improve-control approach has been followed to enhance the vibration noise harshness statistics. The result shows that all expected vibration noise harshness performance targets have been dramatically improved when compared to the initial values. As a conclusion, the case study on a light truck is a useful reference to improve vehicle performance for vibration noise harshness.

Opis:
Titanium dioxide $(TiO_2)$ thin films were prepared by spin coating technique of sol precursor on Corning 7059 glass substrates. Spectral transmittances of as deposited and annealed samples were measured in the range of 250 to 1100 nm. Optical band gaps were calculated from the Tauc plots and was found to be about 3.78 eV for the annealed samples at 500°C. X-ray diffraction patterns were performed with as deposited and annealed samples. By annealing the samples at 500C in various annealing times, the structure has changed from amorphous to the anatase crystalline state. Variations of the band gap energy values of $TiO_2$ films with cobalt doping were also investigated. Cobalt doping decreased the band gap value of $TiO_2$ films down to 3.25 eV. X-ray diffraction patterns were also given for the doped samples.
