This is one of the reasons for conducting and presenting a case study.

This article is about spatial planning. The discussion is conducted from a theoretical perspective. The adopted analytical approach is intended to support those studies that analyze planning processes and practices to increase our understanding of what spatial planning is. Retrospection, as a research method consisting in recalling events from the past, gives comparative material and enables the analysis of one's own choices. The inspiration for the article is the centenary jubilee of the Society of Polish Town Planners (TUP), which was founded in January 1923.

Opis:
A number of modern surface processing methods use an energy flux. The examples include electro-spark deposition (ESD) and laser beam processing (LBP). The work concerns the study of Cu-Mo coatings deposited on C45 carbon steel, which were then eroded with a laser beam. The analysis included the analysis of the microstructure, measurements of macrogeometry and microhardness, corrosion resistance tests of selected areas after laser treatment. The coatings were applied with ELFA-541 and subjected to Nd:YAG laser treatment with variable laser parameters. The problem presented in the work can be used to extend the knowledge of the areas of application of ESD coatings, especially in sliding friction pairs.

Artykuł dotyczy ulepszania planowania przestrzennego. Dyskusja jest prowadzona z perspektywy teoretycznej. Pokazuje ukształtowane w historycznej ewolucji różne kierunki planowania i dominujące orientacje metodologiczne. Na tym tle zestawia dwie wizje przyszłości tej dyscypliny. Są to: wizja planowania oparta na metodach wypracowanych w tradycji pozytywizmu oraz wizja planowania przestrzennego w nowym „stylu humanistycznym”. Według autora planowanie przestrzenne, aby mogło sprostać wyzwaniom XXI wieku, musi być bardziej wrażliwe na miejsca i ludzi, to znaczy bardziej humanistyczne. To oznacza skoncentrowanie na ludzkiej percepcji, zdolnościach, kreatywności, doświadczeniu i wartościach, rozpatrywanych w czasoprzestrzennych układach codziennego życia ludzi.
The article is on improving spatial planning. The discussion is conducted from the theoretical perspective. It shows the different directions of planning formed in historical evolution and the dominant methodological orientations. Against this background, it juxtaposes two visions of the future of this discipline. There are: a vision of planning based on methods developed in the tradition of positivism and a vision of spatial planning in a new "humanistic style". According to the author, spatial planning, in order to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century, must be more sensitive to places and people, that is, more humanistic. This means focusing on human perception, abilities, creativity, experience and values, considered in the space-time systems of people's daily lives.

Subject and purpose of work: The article is devoted to historical marketing research. Its purpose is to identify barriers to conducting historical marketing research and to characterize the significance of this type of research. Materials and methods: The observations contained in the article were formulated on the basis of a review, analysis, synthesis and critical evaluation of the literature in the field of marketing. Results: The article highlights the ahistorical attitude of marketing discipline also with reference to research in the area of marketing. Barriers to conducting this type of research were discussed and the significance of historical research was pointed out.. The barriers were characterized based on the properties of historical research as well as the features of practice and marketing theory. The problem is discussed from the point of view of marketing practice, marketing theory, the status of marketing as a science, the role of historical research as a critical approach in the science of marketing, and historical analysis of phenomena as a social perspective. The significance of historical marketing research for teaching marketing issues is underlined. Conclusions: The main conclusion of the analysis is that historical research on marketing plays a particularly significant role, despite the fact that it is found on the margins of currently undertaken issues and does not belong to the mainstream marketing. As a result, it is rarely discussed in marketing textbooks.

Obiektem badań jest województwo śląskie, a ich przedmiotem planistyczna diagnoza terytorialna - wstępny etap prac planistycznych. Diagnoza ma odpowiedzieć na pytanie, „jak bardzo obszar województwa śląskiego jest rozwinięty” i wskazywać uwarunkowania rozwojowe mające charakter strategiczny. W tym celu są definiowane czynniki, które mogą mieć wpływ na formułowanie ustaleń planistycznych w ramach aktualnie prowadzonych prac nad planem zagospodarowania przestrzennego województwa śląskiego: Plan 2030. Artykuł skrótowo przedstawia przyjęty w badaniach zakres i wyniki przestrzennych analiz. Jest próbą wdrożenia rządowych postulatów w zakresie potrzebnej zmiany podejścia do planowania rozwoju oraz modelu struktury funkcjonalno-przestrzennej regionu.
The Silesian Voivodeship is the object of the research, the planning territorial diagnosis is the subject – it means the initial stage of the planning works. The diagnosis should answer the question how much the territory of the Silesian Voivodeship is developed and indicate the development conditioning of strategic character. For this purpose are defined such factors which can influence planning decisions, within present works on Spatial Development Plan of the Silesian Voivodeship: „Plan 2030”. The article outlines briefly the scope of research and the results of spatial analyses. It is an attempt to implement the government’s demands as to necessary change of the approach to planning the development and model of functional-spatial structure of the region.

Na odbywającym się w październiku 2010 roku w Katowicach II Śląskim Forum Budownictwa autor przedstawił stan planowania regionalnego w Polsce. Postulował, żeby stworzyć jeden podstawowy dokument planowania regionalnego. Nazwał go wtedy „przestrzenną strategią rozwoju województwa”. Podkreślał także, że „obecna praktyka, posługująca się dwoma dokumentami, Strategią i Planem, zdaje się tkwić w historycznych zaległościach” [1]. Po dziesięciu latach powraca do tego tematu i dokonuje przeglądu zmian w podejściu do planowania rozwoju zagospodarowania przestrzennego w województwie śląskim. W kontekście obowiązujących regulacji prawnych zwraca uwagę na dążenia do kształtowania, a także prowadzenia w województwie zintegrowanej polityki rozwoju. Przedstawia przesłanki i uwarunkowania związane z przygotowaniem zmian w Planie Zagospodarowania Przestrzennego Województwa Śląskiego 2020+.
At the II Building Forum in Katowice in October 2010, the author presented the state of the regional planning in Poland. He proposed to create one basic regional planning document: „spatial development strategy”. He said: „Present practice of using two documents, The Strategy and The Plan, is outdated” [1]. After ten years, he comes back to this subject and reviews the changes in the land development planning in the Silesian Voivodeship. In the context of the present law regulations, he draws attention to attemps to shape and conduct an integrated development policy in the voivodeship. He presents premises and determinants connected with preparation of the changes in the Spatial Development Plan of the Silesian Voivodeship 2020+.

The aim of this study is to compare the corrosion resistance of X37CrMoV5-l tool steel after nanostructurization and after a conventional heat treatment. The nanostructuring treatment consisted of austempering at 300°C, which produced a microstructure composed of nanometric carbide-free bainite separated by nanometric layers of retained austenite. The retained austenite occurred also in form of blocks which partially undergo martensitic transformation during final cooling. For comparison, a series of steel samples were subjected to a standard quenching and high tempering treatment, which produced a microstructure of tempered martensite. The obtained results showed that the corrosion resistance of steel after both variants of heat treatment is similar. The results indicate that the nanocrystalline structure with high density of intercrystalline boundaries do not deteriorate the corrosion resistance of steel, which depends to a greater extent on its phase composition.

Opis:
The oral cavity due to its temperature fluctuations, changing pH, high humidity, action of mechanical forces and the presence of microorganisms is a favorable environment for degradation of dental materials. The paper presents comparative results on orthodontic arch-wires AISI304 steel before and after low temperature plasma nitriding carried out at cathodic potential (conventional) and at plasma potential, i.e. in a process incorporating an active screen. Corrosion resistance test on nitrided layers produced on stainless steel were carried out via electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and the potentiodynamic method in non-deaerated artificial saliva solution at 37°C. The results were complemented with analysis of the structure, surface topography and microhardness. The results showed an increase in corrosion resistance of AISI304 steel after conventional glow-discharge nitriding.

The aim of the study was to examine the new 10 inbreed lines and 4 experimental F1 hybrids of white cabbage in respect to their agromorphological traits, content of selected nutrients, pro-healthy components, and their value for the consumption. Both inbreed lines and experimental F1 hybrids showed good internal uniformity and were diversified in respect to their yield, earliness, morphology, and susceptibility to the major diseases of cabbage. The studied genotypes were characterized by a significant difference in content of selected nutrients and bioactive substances. As a result the new commercial F1 hybrid of white cabbage SKW1518 was recommended for the registration at the Research Centre for Cultivar Testing.

In most NATO countries, pilots are prepared in accordance with a modern system of three-stage training: selection, basic and advanced. For each phase, the purpose and scope of the training shall be defined and the aviation equipment together with training support systems should be appropriate selected. The practical training in the air is performed according to the parallelism of the training, which describes the technological relationships between the individual exercises. The purpose of this contribution is to propose a mathematical model which would enable the selection of exercises for each pilot, the appropriate selection of the aircraft and the moment of beginning of each exercise, so that all required exercises are carried out in the shortest possible time. Additionally, in this paper the concept of pilot’s habits and skills improvements is presented.
