    Opis:
    In the Kingdom of Poland, auctions were an important element of commerce, both with regard to state, territorial authority and private property, and to the attainment of other purposes, including protection of creditor interests. Investigation of the issue requires examination of not only legislation but also practice. No conclusions must be made prior to the examination of operation of this important tool of acquiring and selling property. Instead it is best to examine materials concerning practice, a great deal of which have been preserved. The documents of interest concern the preparation of auctions (announcement, bidding conditions), their conduct (auction protocols), and the subsequent consequences (contracts). Examination of the files on practice allows to determine the objects of auction, the reasons why the auctions were conducted, as well as economic, social and legal factors that influenced auctions. The wealth of legislative material, which can be combined with the plentiful files on of auction practice, opens a broad field for researching issues associated with the use of this procedure.
    W Królestwie Polskim licytacja była istotnym elementem obrotu gospodarczego, zarówno w odniesieniu do eksploatacji własności państwowej, samorządowej, prywatnej, jak i realizacji innych celów, w tym ochrony interesu wierzycieli. Analiza zagadnienia wymaga zbadania nie tylko ustawodawstwa, ale i praktyki. Nie można formułować wniosków, wydawać ocen, przed poznaniem funkcjonowania tego ważnego narzędzia nabywania i zbywania własności. Trzeba zatem sięgnąć po materiały praktyki, których zachowało się bardzo dużo. Interesować nas będą dokumenty dotyczące przygotowywania licytacji (obwieszczenia, warunki licytacyjne), jej przeprowadzenia (protokoły licytacyjne) oraz skutków (umowy). Zbadanie akt praktyki umożliwi ustalenie przedmiotu licytacji, powodów, dla jakich ją przeprowadzano, a także czynników gospodarczych, społecznych, prawnych, które miały na nią wpływ. Bogactwo materiału normatywnego, z którym można łączyć zasobne akta praktyki licytacji, otwiera obszerne pole dla badań problemów, jakie wiązały się z wykorzystywaniem tej procedury.

    This paper aims to read Doris Lessing’s “The golden notebook” as a literary experiment, which struggles to find meaning amid fragmented narratives. Aiming to reflect the structure of the experience of mental breakdown, the novel is abundant with literary strategies meant to enhance the understanding of the Real (in Lacanian sense) experience of the main protagonist. Ultimately, all of the stylistic endeavours are doomed to failure, and the experience which cannot be directly communicated surfaces as traumatic: it escapes both chronology and understanding; it renders the protagonist helpless against reality, which she perceives as full of violence. The reason behind the breakdown is elusive, yet it seems to be grounded in historical reality of the twentieth century. Through its inability to convey a message in a conventional novelistic form, “The golden notebook” emerges as a witness to the traumatic nature of human experience of the modern era.

    This paper aims to explore the breakdown of communication in the novels written by Doris Lessing, and investigate into the nature of experience that is conveyed despite the failure of language. Lessing’s fiction is abundant with the symptoms of breakdown, and the heroines’ experience is often rendered by means of fragmentation of the narrative form. Anna Wulf, the heroine of The Golden Notebook, can only deal with her experience by writing about it in separate notebooks; the protagonist of Memoirs of a Survivor delivers a most confusing memoir in which facts and events intertwine with dreams and visions. According to Lacan’s theory of the three registers of human experience, the real, the symbolic and the imaginary, language fails in the face of the real. Nevertheless, the twentieth-century trauma theory allows for investigating into the realm of the real. Critics such as Cathy Caruth and Geoffrey Hartman emphasise the importance of reaching for what is without words, reading despite the silence and fragmentation. By applying their approach to Doris Lessing’s fiction one can truly appreciate her recognition of the human condition in the modern world, and read beyond the breakdown of communication.

    Pierwsza część artykułu skupia się na omówieniu pojęcia superweniencji w postaciach, w jakich funkcjonuje ono we współczesnej fi lozofi i, oraz próbie pogodzenia niektórych z tych wersji z monizmem anomalnym Donalda Davidsona. Druga część omawia relację łączącą to, co mentalne, z tym, co fi zyczne, podaną przez samego Davidsona, która wydaje się różnić od funkcjonujących obecnie defi nicji superweniencji. Artykuł jest próbą opisania tej relacji tak, by była zgodna z myślą Davidsona, oraz obrony jego stanowiska przed zarzutem niespójności superweniencji z monizmem anomalnym.

    Obwieszczenie o znalezieniu zwłok jest instrumentem władzy publicznej mającym na celu identyfikację nieznanej z imienia i nazwiska osoby zmarłej. W Królestwie Polskim w badanym okresie obwieszczenie wykorzystywane było przede wszystkim w postępowaniu karnym. Postępowanie w sprawie znalezienia zwłok prowadzone było na podstawie przepisów Ordynacji Kryminalnej Pruskiej z 1805 r. W przypadku zgłoszenia o znalezieniu zwłok, władze publiczne w myśl przepisów miały przeprowadzić określone czynności. Jeżeli tożsamość osoby zmarłej była nieznana, przepisy przewidywały obowiązek publikacji obwieszczeń w gazetach. W artykule przedstawiono ustawodawstwo i praktykę w tym zakresie.
    The corpse discovery notice is a public instrument for identifying a deceased person by forename and surname. In the Kingdom of Poland in the years 1816–1830, it was used primarily in criminal proceedings. Proceedings regarding the discovery of corpses were conducted on the basis of the provisions of The Prussian Criminal Ordinance Act of 1805. In the case of a declaration of corpse discovery, public authorities were to carry out specific activities under the provisions. If a deceased person’s forename and surname were unknown, the regulations provided for the obligation to make the relevant notices public by publishing them in gazettes. The article presents the legislation and practice in this field.

    Opis:
    An important factor having a negative impact on the technical condition of aircraft structure elements is the adverse effect of the atmosphere, which causes formation of corrosion in aircraft structures, especially in riveted lap joints. The electric potential difference between the sheet material and the rivet, in the presence of humid air, may cause electrochemical corrosion. The paper presents specimens that imitate the repair on the Mi-24 helicopter with the use of blind rivets in places where solid double-sided rivets could not be used.The aim of the research was to assess the corrosion resistance of lap joints with the use of single-sided and double-sided rivets. The analysis of corrosion resistance was carried out based on accelerated aging tests in a salt spray chamber. The salt chamber tests were aimed at determining the changes taking place in the specimens exposed to the marine environment. In the course of periodic observations changes in the mass of the specimens and in the form of corrosion losses were recorded. These activities were aimed at determining whether the exposure of specimens in the salt chamber causes electrochemical corrosion or pillowing. In addition, the specimens were subjected to static strength tests to assess the effect of corrosion on the strength properties of riveted joints.

    Body esteem, self-esteem, and sexual satisfaction influence people’s well-being so it is important to look for psychological factors that may contribute to their improvement. However, men and women differ in the factors that affect their body esteem, self-esteem, and sexual satisfaction. We analyzed links between men’s and women’s self-esteem, body esteem, sexual satisfaction, and self-compassion. The research involved 716 heterosexual participants (365 men and 351 women). All measured variables correlated positively; however, some correlations were stronger among women than among men. Mediation analyses revealed that sexual satisfaction directly affected women's body esteem but did not directly affect men's body esteem. Self-compassion and sexual satisfaction explained more variance in self-esteem and body esteem among women than among men. We explained observed differences in the contexts of the self-perception theory and the objectification theory.
