    Opis:
    The paper explores the nature of fairy tales’ protagonists in a traditional literary fairy tale and in the modern one from the perspective of pupils who are from seven to ten years old. The fairy tales are often being used in the early childhood education field as the starting point for school plays, as play themes or as a ‘background’ for language, science or mathematics activity. Children’s symbolic perception of the fairy tales’ characters and their relationships reveals that there is a way of pupils’ reception of texts in which those texts are treated (and analysed) as a work of literary art. The article presents the results of research, in which – through the application of a non-verbal method – children indicated the interactions between Cinderella from the traditional literary fairy tale and a daisy from Hans Christian Andersen’s story (The Daisy).

    Niniejszy tekst traktuje o sposobie wykorzystania papierowego teatru w edukacji regionalnej. Wywodzące się z tradycji japońskiej kamishibai stanowi połączenie sztuki wizualnej i sztuki opowiadania. Historyczną drogę, którą przebyło, by zakorzenić się we współczesnej edukacji (w szczególności w działaniach skierowanych do dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym i wczesnoszkolnym), opisuję w pierwszej części artykułu. Dalsze rozważania poświęcam badaniu, którego celem było poznanie strategii tworzenia papierowych teatrów przez nauczycieli łódzkich szkół i przedszkoli oraz studentów Wydziału Nauk o Wychowaniu Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, specjalności edukacja wczesnoszkolna i wychowanie przedszkolne, zaangażowanych w projekt „Kamishibai w edukacji regionalnej” (organizowany przez Łódzkie Centrum Doskonalenia Nauczycieli i Kształcenia Praktycznego). Przedmiotem analiz uczyniłam 62 projekty (przygotowane w formie plansz i tekstu lub nagranych filmów) udostępnionych przez badanych na platformie Moodle oraz MS Teams. Zastosowane metody badawcze (analiza dokumentów oraz wywiad swobodny) pozwoliły na podjęcie rozważań na temat doboru tworzywa literackiego oraz potencjału i ograniczeń metody kamishibai. Ostatecznie doprowadziły mnie do opisu strategii projektowania papierowych teatrów, mających popularyzować obcowanie ze sztuką słowa regionu łódzkiego.
    This text presents a way of using paper theatre in regional education. Derived from the Japanese tradition called kamishibai, the theatre is a combination of visual art and storytelling. The historical path it has followed to become rooted in the contemporary education (especially dedicated to preschool and early school children) is described in the first part of the article. Further considerations are related to the research which aimed at learning the strategy for creating paper theatres by teachers of Łódź schools and kindergartens, and by the students of the Faculty of Educational Sciences at the University of Łódź who specialize in  early school and preschool education, and who are involved in the project: "Kamishibai in regional education" (organized by the Łódź Centre for Teacher Training and Practical Education). I analysed 62 projects (prepared in the form of charts and texts, or in the form of recorded films) that were made available by the participants on the Moodle and MS Teams platform. The applied research methods (analysis of documents and nondirective interview) allowed me to discuss the choice of literary material and the potential and limitations of the kamishibai method. Eventually, they made it possible for me to describe the strategy for designing paper theaters, which are to popularize contact with the art of the word of the Lodz region.

    The paper presents the case of introducing children to fairytale literature. Fairytales, which initiate children’s literary education, tend to be interpreted as typical didactic pieces at school. Their potential connected with influencing the emotional realm and developing aesthetic sensitivity is underestimated. The aim of the research is to recognize the ways of introducing fairy tales and presenting them in selected textbooks used in early education. The subjects of the analysis include “My i nasz elementarz” [We and Our Primer] and “My i nasza szkoła” [We and Our School]. The choice of the above mentioned textbooks resulted from the desire to learn what ways of using fairy tales (or their components) are propagated by the contemporary creators of early childhood education goals. These considerations led me to the description of reception through cognition (intellectual cognition, the fulfillment of didactic goals) and constitute the first part of the article, which I compared with the intuitive reception that grew out of psychoanalytic interpretations. Knowledge, which has its source in a psychoanalytical approach, can provide valuable support in designing activities and creating conditions for the reception of texts in early literary education.
    W niniejszym tekście pochylam się nad kwestią wprowadzania dzieci w literaturę baśniową. Baśnie, inicjujące edukację literacką dzieci, w szkolnej rzeczywistości są zazwyczaj interpretowane jako typowe utwory dydaktyczne, a ich potencjał związany z oddziaływaniem na sferę emocjonalną i rozwijaniem wrażliwości estetycznej – niedoceniany. Celem badań uczyniłam poznanie sposobu wprowadzania baśni oraz prezentowania ich w wybranych podręcznikach edukacji wczesnoszkolnej. Przedmiotem analiz stały się My i nasz elementarz i My i nasza szkoła. Wybór powyższych książek wynikał z chęci poznania sposobów wykorzystywania baśni (bądź jej komponentów) propagowanych przez aktualnych twórców celów edukacji wczesno szkolnej. Rozważania te doprowadziły mnie do opisu odbioru poprzez  poznanie  (intelektualne,  realizacja  celów  dydaktycznych) i stanowią pierwszą część tekstu, której przeciwstawiam odbiór intuicyjny, wyrosły z interpretacji psychoanalitycznych. Wiedza mająca źródło w podejściu psychoanalitycznym może stanowić cenną podporę w konstruowaniu działań i warunków odbioru tekstów we wczesnej edukacji literackiej.

    The aim of the article is to present meanings associated with fairy tale places by teacher candidates. The research data came from interviews with 57 early childhood pedagogy students, analysed through a qualitative method. The competences of candidates for teachers in perceiving the symbolism of places, wandering, world layout, reveal not only the level of cultural and literary knowledge (because they are a “showcase” of previous school experiences of fairy-tale themed lessons), but also indicate their future strategies for designing children’s activity based on fairy tales. These strategies may turn out to be so durable and resistant to change that they might survive university literary education and remain the starting point for students’ teaching practice. The research shows that the fairy tale can remain in them as the starting point for fun or a “background” for science, mathematics and language.

    Celem niniejszego tekstu uczyniłam refleksję nad procesem nabywania kompetencji kulturowej przez dorosłych użytkowników języka. Uczestnictwo w owym procesie pozwoliło na poznanie studenckich strategii czytania baśni w relacji z obrazem – rozrusznikiem wyobraźni. Rozważania, w oparciu o realizowaną obserwację uczestniczącą i badanie w działaniu – sytuuję w paradygmacie jakościowym. Interpretacje tekstów kultury, formułowane przez kandydatów na nauczycieli są „wypadkową”: 1) wzorców uformowanych za pośrednictwem doświadczanej uprzednio tradycyjnej edukacji oraz 2) uczestnictwa w sytuacji edukacyjnej pobudzającej proces nadawania znaczeń.
    The aim of this article is to analyse the process of developing cultural competence by adult language users. Participation in this process allowed me to explore students' strategies of reading fairy tales in relation to the image - "the stimulator of imagination". Based on participant observation and action research, I situated my research in the qualitative paradigm. The interpretations of cultural texts formulated by teacher candidates are the results of: 1) patterns formed through previously experienced traditional education and 2) participation in an educational situation that stimulates the process of meaning-making.
