    The aim of the article is to analyse the theme of cultural identity in the novel „I grandi occhi del mare” by Leonard Guaci. Starting from Gioia di Cristofaro Longo’s theoretical assumptions concerning the connection between identity and culture, we stress the influence of Italian culture on the sense of identity felt by the characters who represent Albanians living in the period of Enver Hoxha’s communist dictatorship. The analysis also draws on the theories of scholars such us Hannah Arendt, Homi Bhabha, Dominique Chancé, Giovanni Marchetti, Nora Moll.

    Przedmiotem artykułu jest fenomen brexitu we włoskiej literaturze współczesnej, rozpatrywany na podstawie opublikowanych dotychczas tekstów, w których odgrywa on istotną rolę. Analizie zostają poddane trzy powieści: Città irreale (Nierealne miasto) Cristiny Marconi, Brexit Blues (Brexitowy blues) Marca Varvella oraz La mia Brexit (Mój brexit) Francesca De Carla, z których wyłania się jego negatywny obraz, osadzony w kontekście problematyki imigracji, stanowiącej szczególny obszar zainteresowania wymienionych autorów.
    The subject of the article is the phenomenon of Brexit in contemporary Italian literature investigated on the basis of the texts published so far, in which it plays an important role. Three novels are analyzed: Città irreale by Cristina Marconi, Brexit Blues by Marco Varvello and La mia Brexit by Francesco De Carlo, from which emerges negative image of Brexit, set in the context of immigration, which is a special area of interest for the above-mentioned authors.

    Opis:
    Carmine Abate is an author who represents a quite new orientation in Italian literature, the so called migrant literature. His literary works started to be appreciated fairly recently – only at the beginning of the 21st c. The text, basing on the research assumptions of imagology defined by Nora Moll, focuses on the representation of the image of culture as practiced by the small community of arbëresh, living in a small village in Calabria called Hora. What is taken under analysis is the first novel by Abate, Il ballo tondo (1991), whose action is permeated with elements typical for arbëresh culture.

    The aim of this essay, divided into three parts, is to investigate the motif of journey, culture and identity in the novel La mano che non mordi by Ornela Vorpsi. The analysis is carried out in relation to different theories (Bergson, Kristeva, Lévinas). The travel to Sarajevo lets the main character, a woman who lives in France, discover important information on her identity which turns out to be difficult to determinate. The place evokes memories of her country: Albany. They present a cultural element sehir which means look at the others and undoubtedly depicts the mentality of Albanians.

    Nel panorama della letteratura italiana contemporanea Carmine Abate (1954), occupa una posizione rilevante. Nel 2012 l’autore è stato vincitore del prestigioso Premio Campiello, assegnatogli per il romanzo La collina del vento (2012). Abate, di origine arbëresh, cioè italo-albanese, viene al mondo in un villaggio calabrese chiamato Carfizzi, in cui vivono tuttora i discendenti degli albanesi fuggiti in Italia dall’oppressione turca nei tempi medievali. A quanto pare si potrebbe azzardare l’ipotesi che il carattere ibrido della cultura in cui cresce, fortemente influenzata dalle radici albanesi, faccia sì che la sua produzione sia tematicamente compatta. In essa campeggiano alcune strutture utilizzate in modo ripetitivo che la rendono omogenea: l’emigrazione, il problema dell’identità, la questione della lingua, il viaggio, l’immagine del paese albanese ancorato fra presente e passato. Tra altri motivi significativi che caratterizzano la sua scrittura occorre non dimenticare quello del femminile. Per averne la visione più ricca possibile si è scelto di analizzarlo nell’ottica dell’atteggiamento di varie protagoniste abatiane verso la cultura, in quanto proprio il concetto di cultura costituisce il perno della poetica dell’autore. Esso, di carattere pluridimensionale, si dimostra un mezzo metodologico adatto per scorgere il quadro del femminile delineato nelle opere abatiane.

    The article, while focusing on the protagonist-narrator, demonstrates the structures that are typical of the novel of education and consequently points to the genre of the newest work by Carmine Abate, entitled Il Bacio del Pane. Over the course of one summer, Francesco—mostly because of his having met Lorenzo, the main witness in a mob trial who was forced to hide in the ruins of the old mill, near Spillace—turns from a careless teenager into a youth who becomes dramatically aware of such serious problems running in his community as the existence and operation of organised criminal groups. What is presented, then, are the psychological processes that take place in the internal world of the main character, who can also correctly describe the state he finds himself in. The analysis is carried out in relation to different theories (Bachelard, Freud, Jung).
    L’articolo, accennando alla tradizione del Bildungsroman e all’evoluzione del genere nella letteratura italiana contemporanea, si incentra sull’analisi del processo formativo che avviene in Francesso, uno dei protagonisti dell’ultimo romanzo di Carmine Abate intitolato Il bacio del pane (2013). Vista la scoperta di alcuni meccanismi negativi presenti nella realtà circostante, l’adolescente subisce una profonda trasformazione psichica, diventa più maturo e capace di notare come sia cambiato. Viene rilevato come sulla sua formazione influisca la storia di Lorenzo, un uomo sconosciuto costretto a nascondersi dalla mafia nelle rovine del vecchio mulino situate nei dintorni di Spillace, la località in cui si svolge l’azione. L’analisi è basata sulle teorie di studiosi come: Bachelard, Freud, Jung.

    The article aims to analyze the problem of travel writing, define its typology and discuss the outcomes of travelling as they are unfolded in the first phase of Elvira Dones’s migrant writings. It addressess three phenomena: travelling to Denmark, travelling to Sweden and travelling to Italy, outlining the influence of space on the lives of the characters. The theoretical foundation derives from research by T.W. Adorno, G. Bataille, E. Grosz, S. Hurn, I. Illich, M. Marzano, S. Mezzadra, M. Midgley, M.C. Nussbaum and P. Ricoeur.
