Opis:
International trade in textiles and clothing has showed more dynamic growth in the last decade in terms of trends in the global production of textile and clothing products. Developing countries, especially those from the Asian region, are the world’s leading textile exporters, which is one of the key levers of their rapid economic growth, while the textile industry in Serbia is among the leading export sectors of the country’s economy despite the serious development issues brought about by the transition process. For the purpose of this paper, the particular analytical tools of the methodology developed by the International Trade Centre (ITC), the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) were selected. The simplified national export profile – NEP, which gives an overview of the national economy’s export performance by product (both in static and dynamic terms), was used for the analysis of Serbia’s textile industry. In addition, the Balassa index of revealed comparative advantage (RCA) was also used in this paper. Analysis of the competitiveness of the aforementioned industry regarding relative changes in its share in the world market indicates positive changes of Serbia in this area. Relevant indicators are satisfactory, as well as the industry’s specialisation in reation to the global average and export performances of the main export product. However, speaking from the perspective of the export structure, especially trends related to the share of subcontracting, i.e. outward processing, it is clear that the competitiveness of the textile industry in Serbia is primarily based on pricing.
W ostatniej dekadzie międzynarodowe branże przemysłu tekstylnego i odzieżowego wykazały dynamiczny wzrost trendów w światowej produkcji wyrobów włókienniczych. Kraje rozwijające się, zwłaszcza azjatyckie, są widącymi eksporterami tekstyliów, co stanowi dzwignię ich szybkiego wzrostu ekonomicznego; przemysł włókienniczy w Serbii jest jednym z głównych sektorów eksportowych gospodarki kraju, pomimo poważnych problemów spowodowanych przez proces transformacji. Dla celów niniejszej pracy zastosowano narzędzia analityczne metodologii opracowanej przez Międzynarodowe Centrum Handlu (ITC), Światową Organizację Handlu (WTO) oraz Konferencję Narodów Zjednoczonych ds. Handlu i Rozwoju (UNCTAD). Analizę przemysłu włókienniczego Serbii oparto na uproszczonym krajowym profilu eksportowym - NEP, który stanowi przegląd gospodarki narodowej. W badaniach zastosowano również indeks Balassy. Analiza konkurencyjności wspomnianego przemysłu tekstylnego Serbii wskazuje na zachodzenie korzystnych zmian. Stwierdza się jednak, że z perspektywy struktury eksportu, konkurencyjność przemysłu włókienniczego w Serbii oparta jest przede wszystkim na relacjach cenowych.

After cessation of the underground mining of uranium ore and production of uranium concentrate at Žirovski Vrh (Slovenia) in the period 1985–1990, two permanent surface disposal sites remained, namely, tailings pile and mine waste rock pile. Both disposal sites were of equal size of 4 hectares and were significant sources of radon. Their final restoration was designed in compliance with the condition of dose constraint for the public and authorized limits for radon exhalation from the remediated piles. In the late summer of 2008, a restoration of the mine waste pile was finished. Radon releases were reduced significantly by constructing an effective radon barrier of well compacted clayey material and a thick complex protective cover layer constructed over it. Radon exhalation rate from the mine waste area was lowered from primary level of 0.7 Bq/m2źs to natural levels (0.01 Bq/m2źs), and consequently, ambient radon levels also decreased on the site and nearby environment. The average radon contribution from the remaining U-mine sources was estimated on the basis of the environmental measurements of radon concentrations; they dropped from initial 7–9 Bq/m3 to approximately 3 Bq/m3. Further reduction of outdoor radon concentrations is expected after 2010, since the restoration of another disposal site will have been completed by the end of this year. Public exposure due to industrial radon after the first phase of restoration satisfactorily meets the dose constraint level of 0.3 mSv/y, since it decreased to less than 0.1 mSv/y.

The Apache Hadoop framework is an answer to the market tendencies regarding the need for storing and processing rapidly growing amounts of data, providing a fault-tolerant distributed storage and data processing. Dealing with large volumes of data, Hadoop, and its storage system HDFS (Hadoop Distributed File System), face challenges to keep the high efficiency with computing in a reasonable time. The typical Hadoop implementation transfers computation to the data. However, in the isolated configuration, namenode (playing the role of a master in the cluster) still favours the closer nodes. Basically it means that before the whole task has run, significant delays can be caused by moving single blocks of data closer to the starting datanode. Currently, a Hadoop user does not have influence how the data is distributed across the cluster. This paper presents an innovative functionality to the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) that enables moving data blocks on request within the cluster. Data can be shifted either by a user running the proper HDFS shell command or programmatically by other modules, like an appropriate scheduler.

The efficiency of a Thermoelectric Module (TEM) is not only influenced by the material properties, but also by the heat losses due to the internal and contact thermal resistances. In the literature, the material properties are mostly discussed, mainly to increase the well-known thermoelectric figure of merit ZT. Nevertheless, when a TEM is considered, the separate characterization of the materials of the p and n elements is not enough to have a suitable TEM electrical model and evaluate more precisely its efficiency. Only a few recent papers deal with thermal resistances and their influence on the TEM efficiency; mostly, the minimization of these resistances is recommended, without giving a way to determine their values. The aim of the present paper is to identify the internal and contact thermal resistances of a TEM by electrical characterization. Depending on the applications, the TEM can be used either under constant temperature gradient or constant heat flow conditions. The proposed identification approach is based on the theoretical electrical modeling of the TEM, in both conditions. It is simple to implement, because it is based only on open circuit test conditions. A single electrical measurement under both conditions (constant-temperature and constant-heat) is needed. Based on the theoretical electrical models, one can identify the internal and thermal resistances.

In this paper partial and complete substitution of cations in the interlayer region of clay with different amounts of two aliphatic ammonium cations was performed with aim of synthesis of organobentonites with multipurpose adsorption properties. Domestic clay from Bogovina was submitted according to a common procedure used for the obtention of organobentonite, which comprises the following steps: grinding, sieving, Na-exchange, cation exchange and drying. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction and infrared spectroscopy. The incorporation of surfactant molecules into smectite structure lead to constant increase of $d_{001}$ basal spacing. IR absorption bands assigned to methyl and methylene vibrations increased with the increase of surfactant/bentonite ratio and length of aliphatic chain in surfactant molecules. Adsorptive properties of the obtained materials were in accordance with their organophylicity: the adsorption of organic dye increased while the rate of removal of $Pb^{2+}$ by adsorption decreased.

Al,Fe-pillared clay was synthesized from domestic clay from Bogovina according to a common procedure: grinding, sieving, Na exchange, pillaring, drying and calcination. Two synthesized samples differing only in calcining conditions were prepared. Phase composition and textural properties of the starting clay and synthesized pillared clays were characterized using X-ray diffraction and physisorption of nitrogen. Catalytic tests were performed using sample with better textural properties being the one submitted to milder calcining conditions. Catalytic wet peroxide oxidative degradation of aromatic compounds phenol and tartrazine on the synthesized catalyst was confirmed showing better efficiency in the case of tartrazine.

We report the growth and characterization of AlGaN/GaN multiple quantum well structures designed to have intersubband transitions in the mid-infrared region of the spectrum. The samples were nominally undoped but were found to contain a high electron population in the wells induced by the local polarization fields. The sample was characterized by the use of the Raman spectroscopy and photocurrent spectroscopy. The Raman spectroscopy shows electronic Raman scattering from intersubband transitions in the AlGaN/GaN quantum wells. The e$\text{}_{1}$-e$\text{}_{2}$ and e$\text{}_{1}$-e$\text{}_{3}$ transitions of the confined 2d electron population in the wells can clearly be observed. A sample designed to absorb at 4μm was fabricated into mesa structures and the vertical photocurrent measured under normal incidence illumination from the free-electron laser FELIX. A wavelength and bias dependent photocurrent was observed in the mid-IR region of spectrum. The peak responsivity was of the order of 50μA/W at 4 K, the photocurrent still being measurable at room temperature.

A fully quantum-mechanical model for carrier scattering transport in semiconductor intersubband devices was applied to modelling of carrier dynamics in quantum cascade lasers. The standard model uses the envelope function and effective mass approximations to solve electron band structure under an applied bias. The k·p model has been employed in p-type systems where the more complex band structure requires it. The resulting wave functions are then used to evaluate all relevant carrier-phonon, carrier-carrier and alloy scattering rates from each quantised state to all others within the same and the neighbouring period. This piece of information is then used to construct a rate equation for the equilibrium carrier density in each subband and this set of coupled rate equations are solved self-consistently to obtain the carrier density in each eigenstate. The latter is a fundamental description of the device and can be used to calculate the current density and gain as a function of the applied bias and temperature, which in turn yields the threshold current and expected temperature dependence of the device characteristics. A recent extension which includes a further iteration of an energy balance equation also yields the electron (or hole) temperature over the subbands. This paper will review the method and describe its application to mid-infrared and terahertz, GaAs, GaN, and SiGe cascade laser designs.
