La Société Anonyme des Produits Cotonniers de Ludwik Geyer jusqu'en 1914 appartenait aux plus grandes et aux plus prospères entreprises cotonnieres de Łódź. La dévastation du parc de machines et la perte du capital actif pandant la I-ère guerre mondiale obligea la société à chercher des crédits étrangers dans le but d'acheter de nouvelles machines, matières premières et matières pour la production. En 1924 l'endettement étrangers a atteint 4 460 000 zlotys, les dettes en Pologne ont atteint 1 200 000 zlotys. La crise des annees 1924—1926 a fait croître ces sommes car la société n’est pas arrivée à payer les intérêts des dettes. On envisagea l'amélioration de la situation par l'emprunt de 150 800 livres sterlings auprès de la société de Crédit de l'industrie Polonaise. Cet emprunt a été probablement utilisé pour couvrir les anciennes dettes. Déjà au début de la crise des années 1929—1933 l'entreprise a été au bord de la faillite; elle continuait sa production mais seulement 2—3 jours par semaineil n'y avait que des pertes. En 1933 les perles ont été évaluées à 6 millions zlotys. Comme l'année suivante la situation ne s'est pas améliorée, la direction a déposé au tribunal l'assignation en déclaration de faillite déclarée le 2 juillet 1934. Conformément à la décision du tribunal, l’entreprise m'a pas arrêté sa production. Grâce à l'accord avec les créanciers qui ont consenti à supprimer une partie de la dette et grâce à sa répartition, de même que grâce à l'aide du Trésor d'Etat concernant le paiement des dettes étrangères, le 2 juillet 1938 la décision de faillite fut annulée.

One of the fundamental ideological goals of communists coming into power in Poland after the end of the World War II was the fight against religion. The goal resulted in the marxist-leninist ideology (based on dialectical and historical materialism) which rejected the existence of God. No wonder that the contemporaneous political authorities supported by the ideology mentioned above towards wide spread devotion of the society treated the Church as the opponent which can make them less powerful. Hence, the People’s Republic of Poland (PRP) authorities used in a different intensity the policy of repression and condemnation against the Church in years 1944–1989. Anti-church propaganda became the crucial element of the government’s policy. The propaganda covered various aspects of life and functioning of the Church.The present article highlights the political propaganda of the PRP and what was carefully underlined was the fact how the propaganda presented particular bishops from old Polish times showing at the same time, based on certain examples, manipulation, lies, and lack of reliability and objectivity of the contemporaneous propaganda.
Jednym z podstawowych ideologicznych celów przejmujących władzę komunistów w Polsce po zakończeniu II była walka z religią. Cel ten wynikał z przyjętej ideologii marksistowsko-leninowskiej (opartej na materializmie dialektycznym i historycznym) odrzucającej istnienie Boga. Nic więc dziwnego, że ówczesne władze polityczne na powyższej podbudowie ideologicznej wobec powszechnie występującej religijności społeczeństwa traktowały Kościół jako konkurenta, który mógłby osłabić jej autorytet. Z tego powodu władze Polskiej Rzeczypospolitej Ludowej (PRL) w latach 1944–1989 z różnym nasileniem stosowały wobec Kościoła politykę represji i deprecjonowania. Istotnym elementem prowadzonej polityki stała się antykościelna propaganda obejmująca różnorodne aspekty życia i funkcjonowania Kościoła.W niniejszym artykule zwrócono uwagę na propagandę polityczną PRL, a konkretnie próbowano ukazać, w jakim świetle ta propaganda przedstawiała poszczególnych biskupów z czasów staropolskich, ukazując przy tym, w oparciu o poszczególne przykłady, manipulację, kłamstwa, brak rzetelności i obiektywizmu ówczesnej propagandy.

It is well-known that the versal deformations of nonsimple singularities depend on moduli. The first step in deeper understanding of this phenomenon is to determine the versal discriminant, which roughly speaking is an obstacle for analytic triviality of an unfolding or deformation along the moduli. The goal of this paper is to describe the versal discriminant of $Z_{k,0}$ and $Q_{k,0}$ singularities basing on the fact that the deformations of these singularities may be obtained as blowing ups of certain deformations of $J_{k,0}$ singularities.

Ukazujący się od 1911 r. „Miesięcznik Katechetyczny i Wychowawczy” był czasopismem poświęconym sprawom nauczania i wychowania religijnego. Początkowo poruszano w nim głównie zagadnienia dotyczące katechezy szkolnej, a także wychowania, historii filozofii, teologii, apologetyki, archeologii, literatury współczesnej czy problematyki narodowo-patriotycznej. Od 1921 r. nadrzędne miejsce zajęły kwestie związane z katechizacją, pedagogiką, psychologią, dydaktyką religijną i duszpasterstwem szkolnym. W bogactwo prezentowanej przez czasopismo tematyki wpisuje się również niezwykle ważny postulat prowadzenia nauczania religii w korelacji z innymi przedmiotami. Zadaniem niniejszego opracowania był nie tylko wybór i krótka analiza poszczególnych artykułów, jakie zostały opublikowane na łamach „Miesięcznika Katechetyczno-Wychowawczego”, ale także zwrócenie uwagi na ten jakże ważny postulat i również pewnego rodzaju zachęta do jego nieustannej realizacji.
“Catechetical and Educational Monthly”, which had been published since 1911, was a periodical devoted to matters of teaching and religious education. Initially, it dealt mainly with issues related to school religion classes, as well as education, history of philosophy, theology, apologetics, archeology, contemporary literature and national-patriotic issues. From 1921, issues related to religious education, pedagogy, psychology, religious teaching and school chaplaincy were of the utmost importance. The richness of the subject matter presented by the journal also includes the extremely important postulate of teaching religion as correlated with other subjects. The aim of this study is not only to provide a selection and short analysis of individual articles that were published in “Catechetical and Educational Monthly” but also to draw attention to this important postulate as well as, in some sense, to encourage its continuous implementation.

The spiritual and military service for God and homeland, being a particular aspect of callings for army chaplains, has a long history which reaches earliest times. Along with the development of army organisation different kinds of regulations have been formed which aimed at normalising the organisation of religious service in the army and adapting it to the needs of the developing services. This significant issue is the subject of historical reflexion covering the ministration in Polish Army until the permanent ministration was constituated.
Duchowa i żołnierska służba Bogu i ojczyźnie, stanowiąca szczególny wymiar powołania kapelanów wojskowych, ma długą historię sięgającą najdawniejszych czasów. Wraz z rozwojem organizacji armii, na przestrzeni wieków powstawały różne regulacje, próbujące unormować organizację posługi religijnej w wojsku i dostosować ją do potrzeb rozwijających się sił zbrojnych. To ważne zagadnienie stanowi przedmiot refleksji historycznej obejmującej swym zasięgiem służbę duszpasterską w Wojsku Polskim do czasu ukonstytuowania się stałego duszpasterstwa wojskowego.

The first step in deeper understanding of this phenomenon is to determine the versal discriminant, which roughly speaking is an obstacle to analytic triviality of an unfolding or deformation along the moduli. The versal discriminant of the Pham singularity ($J_{3,0}$ in Arnold's classification) was thoroughly investigated by J. Damon and A. Galligo [2], [3], [4]. The goal of this paper is to continue their work and to describe the versal discriminant of a general $J_{k,0}$ singularity.

Opis:
Applications of singularity theory give rise to many questions concerning deformations of singularities. Unfortunately, satisfactory answers are known only for simple singularities and partially for unimodal ones. The aim of this paper is to give some insight into decompositions of multi-modal singularities with unimodal leading part. We investigate the $J_{k,0}$ singularities which have modality k - 1 but the quasihomogeneous part of their normal form only depends on one modulus.

It is well known that versal deformations of nonsimple singularities depend on moduli. However they can be topologically trivial along some or all of them. The first step in the investigation of this phenomenon is to determine the versal discriminant (unstable locus), which roughly speaking is the obstacle to analytic triviality. The next one is to construct continuous liftable vector fields smooth far from the versal discriminant and to integrate them. In this paper we extend the results of J. Damon and A. Galligo, concerning the case of the Pham singularity ($J_{3,0}$ in Arnold's classification) (see [2, 3, 4]), and deal with deformations of general $J_{k,0}$ singularities.

Życie emigranta nie należało do łatwych i przyjemnych. Potwierdza to sytuacja wielu Polaków udających się na emigrację do Stanów Zjednoczonych. Zmiany miejsca zamieszkania na bardziej odległe, bariery językowe i kulturowe oraz konieczność odnalezienia się w obcym, nieznanym kraju są trudnymi wyzwaniami. Wkraczająca daleko poza ściśle duszpasterskie aspekty działalność polskiego duchowieństwa stanowi dowód tego, jak ważna jest pomoc na obcej ziemi wyrażana w różnych formach. Losy polskich emigrantów bardzo często toczyły się wokół Kościoła katolickiego, który integrował wokół siebie środowiska polonijne. Przedstawiona w sprawozdaniu powizytacyjnym sporządzonym przez matkę generalną s. Rozarianę Mikiewicz sytuacja sióstr należących do amerykańskiej prowincji sióstr dominikanek pokazuje nie tylko szerokie spectrum ich posługi, ale także problemy i trudności zgromadzenia. Zawarte w dokumencie wątki opiekuńcze i wychowawcze odsłaniają przed nami wielopłaszczyznową posługę wpisującą się nie tylko w realizację zakonnego charyzmatu, ale także w historię działalności opiekuńczo-wychowawczej wśród Polaków znajdujących się na obczyźnie, jak również wśród miejscowej ludności.
The life of an emigrant was not easy and pleasant. This is confirmed by the situation of many Poles who emigrate to the United States of America. Changing the place of residence to more distant, linguistic and cultural barriers and the need to find oneself in a foreign, unfamiliar country are difficult challenges. The activity of the Polish clergy, going far beyond the strictly pastoral aspects, proves the importance of helping in a foreign land, expressed in various forms. The fate of Polish emigrants very often revolved around the Catholic Church, which integrated the Polish community around itself. The situation of the sisters belonging to the American province of Dominican Sisters presented in the post-visit report prepared by Mother General, Sr. Rozariana Mikiewicz, shows not only the wide spectrum of their ministry, but also the problems and difficulties of the Congregation. The care and educational themes contained in the document reveal to us a multidimensional service that fits not only in the implementation of the religious charism, but also in the history of care and educational activities among Poles living abroad, as well as among the local population.
