Opis:
Particular entities of the State Forests differ in their activity in the field of nature−and forest−related education. The study provides an economic evaluation of the degree of involvement of forest districts, within the Regional Directorate of State Forests (RDSF) in Kraków, in educating the society on nature− and forest−related issues. Financial expenditures were analysed and the zero unitarization method was used. In the years of 2005−2009, over 82.4% of expenses on education in the RDSF in Kraków were covered by the State Forests, ca. 42% were financed from the own funds of forest districts and over 40% – from the Forest Fund. Total expenses on educational activities included 57% of direct costs and 43% of indirect costs. Quantitative indicators and expenditure indicators provided basis for the distinction of groups of forest districts, according to their activity in the field of nature− and forest−related education.

The main objective of the study “The role of project management in the hospitality business operation” was to develop recommendations for the selection of project management standards which will allow the effective achievement of their objectives, in particular to define and adjust their management standards. The study was carried out in the period from 01/01 to 31/12/2011, while the fundamental phase of the study fell in the period from 01/08 to 30/11. A set of 5 specific objectives was used which were operationalized into 7 research questions and 5 research techniques, both quantitative and qualitative. The study used secondary data which constituted statistical and demonstrative material, as a result of which it was possible to develop a typology of projects implemented in hotel companies and compare project management standards. The above compilations were used to construct research tools in order to obtain primary data - the results of surveys and individual in-depth interviews. The study allowed the following main conclusions to be drawn: 1. The natural and cultural values of the region as well as regional and local tourist products are not perceived by hotel companies as attractive resources for creating their own offer. 2. Low propensity of hotel businesses to cooperate in integrating promotional activities for the region as an attractive tourist destination. 3. Low interest of hotel companies in the activities of sustainable development. 4. Low effectiveness of dialogue and cooperation between the hotel industry and other actors of the regional tourism market. 5. Moderate satisfaction of hotel companies with the implemented projects, there are no grounds to unequivocally state that the project was successful. 6. Hotels operating in the Łódź region conduct individual marketing activities on a small scale being focused exclusively on the promotion of their own offer. 7. Low propensity of hotel companies to establish cooperation within the tourism industry. 8. Hotel companies in the Łódź Voivodeship implement projects using few management standards. For these conclusions detailed recommendations were formulated indicating possible remedial actions aimed at reversing adverse trends or strengthening positive effects.

According to the declaration made by many theoreticians of environmental ethics, their purpose is to do moral extension, i.e., to expand moral duties and standards to non-human living entities. If it means including the biosphere into the same moral normative system as is valid in anthroposphere, such a declaration is in fact not realized. Environmental ethics offers normative systems not only different, but often contradictory to human ethics. These differences and sometimes contradictions make a great challenge for a moral subject, always a human being. The question is if it is possible to be equally obedient to such different or even contradictory rules, and construct a double or even dual conscience, according to such double morality.
U podstaw dominujących w etyce środowiskowej, jej biocentrycznych odmian leży deklaracja dokonania moralnej ekstensji, czyli rozszerzenia zakresu obowiązywalności norm i nakazów etycznych na istoty żywe inne niż ludzkie. Jeśli miałoby to oznaczać objęcie biosfery identycznymi powinnościami etycznymi jak obowiązujące w antroposferze, to deklaracja ta nie przez wszystkie biocentryczne odmiany etyki środowiskowej jest realizowana konsekwentnie. W ich obrębie wytworzyły się bowiem odmienne, rozbieżne, a często przeciwstawne etyce humanistycznej systemy aksjonormatywne. Stawia to podmiot moralny, którym we wszystkich tych systemach jest istota ludzka, wobec sprzecznych wymagań i zobowiązań etycznych. Kwestią problematyczną pozostaje możliwość kształtowania dwoistego czy wręcz rozdwojonego sumienia moralnego, mogącego sprostać tak rozbieżnym postulatom i powinnościom.

Stanisław Jan Gasiorowski (1897-1962) studied classical archaeology and art history at the Jagiellonian University during the years 1915 -1920, under direction of Piotr Bienkowski and Julian Pagaczewski. During a one-year stay in Vienna, he attended lectures given by Joseph Strzygowski, Max Dvorak and Julius Schlosser. In 1922, he started his professional career as an assistant in the Chair of Classical Archaeology at the Jagiellonian University. In 1930 he was named professor extraordinarius and in 1937 ordinarius. He remained in this position until 1953. In November of 1939, along with other professors of the Jagiellonian University, he was arrested by the Nazis, and imprisoned in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp. In 1942 the Prince Czartoryski family entrusted him with the position of director of the Czartoryski Museum. In 1951 Gasiorowski was dismissed, under the pretext that he was in the service of “aristocratic and bourgeois enemies of the Polish people”. Shortly thereafter the authorities also forced his removal from the University (1953). Deprived of the opportunity to give lectures and be in contact with students, he shifted his work to the Institute of Material Culture of the Polish Academy of Science, and remained there until his death. His research interests followed three general themes. The first of these was ancient art in the strict sense. He was the author of Poland’s first summary of the history of ancient art. The second area involved the theoretical foundations for the study of the material culture of Mediterranean countries. Finally, the third area was the publication of ancient and modern artworks from Polish collections as well as their history, and information on early Polish travelers to the Mediterranean countries

Moralność uchodzi za jeden z tych atrybutów człowieczeństwa, który wyróżnia rodzaj ludzki spośród innych gatunków istot żywych. We współczesnej prymatologii pojawiają się jednak coraz częściej sugestie o wykazywaniu uczuć moralnych i zachowań nimi kierowanych przez niektóre naczelne. Szczególne przymioty tego rodzaju przypisywane są szympansom bonobo. Z niektórych interpretacji ich zachowań wyprowadzane są wnioski o przejawiającym się tu humanizmie, który mógłby wskazywać formy postępowania właściwe ludziom. Jednak nawet wśród etyków środowiskowych panuje zgoda, że jedynie człowiek jest i może być podmiotem moralnym. Tworzy to etyczną przepaść między człowiekiem a innymi gatunkami, nawet jeśli z biologicznego lub metafizycznego punktu widzenia jej nie ma. Jedynie człowiek bowiem posiada zdolność intencjonalnego działania, kierowanego poczuciem powinności etycznej. Zatem postulowana w oparciu o obserwacje przyrodnicze „pedagogika zwierzęca” ma jedynie walor metaforyczny, przydatny i widoczny co najwyżej w literackich przypowieściach, ale nie w etycznych nakazach.
According to a common opinion morality is one of the attributes making human beings different to other species. Still, in a contemporary primatology there are more and more suggestions concerning moral empathy and related behaviors (or: behaviors based on it) which are perceived in some primates’ activities. Special capacities of such kind are attributed to bonobo chimpanzees. Some interpretations of their behaviors are used as arguments for their human nature, which they reveal, but, at the same time, they characterize and constitute behaviors typical to human beings. However, even in environmental ethics specialists claim that only human beings are and could be a moral subject. Such an attitude constitutes a moral gap between human beings and other species, even though it is not observed in terms of a biological or metaphysical point of view. Only man has a capacity to intentionally act being led by the sense of moral duty. Thus, the so called “animal pedagogy”, based on observations of animal behavior, can convey only metaphorical sense, useful in literature but not in ethics.

Przedmiotem artykułu są nowe regulacje prawa umów budowlanych wprowadzone w niemieckim kodeksie cywilnym 1.01.2018 r., dotyczące umowy o roboty budowlane, konsumenckiej umowy o roboty budowlane oraz umowy deweloperskiej. Przedstawiono różne typy umów o roboty budowlane występujące w praktyce. Uwzględniono znowelizowane VOB/B 2016 (Verdingungsordnung für Bauleistungen. Teil B). Szczególny nacisk został położony na prawa i obowiązki stron, charakter prawny umów oraz odpowiedzialność za wady świadczenia budowlanego. Artykuł ma istotne znaczenie dla polskich wykonawców budowlanych pracujących w Niemczech.
The subject of the article are new regulations on construction contract law introduced in the German Civil Code on 1.01.2018 regarding a construction works contract, a consumer construction works contract and a development contract. Various types of works contracts occurring in practice are presented in the article. The amended VOB/B 2016 (Verdingungsordnung für Bauleistungen. Teil B) was also taken into consideration. Particular emphasis was placed on the rights and obligations of the parties, the legal nature of contracts and liability for defects in construction contract obligations. The article is of substantial importance for Polish building contractors working in Germany.

Przedmiotem artykułu jest odpowiedzialność za wady świadczenia budowlanego na gruncie przepisów prawa niemieckiego. Omówione zostały zwłaszcza rozwiązania przyjęte przez niemieckiego ustawodawcę w przepisach § 633–635 i § 638 BGB (Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch) oraz w VOB/B (Allgemeine Vertragsbedingungen für die Ausführung von Bauleistungen), którego najnowsza nowelizacja weszła w życie z dniem 18.04.2016 r. Szczególny nacisk położony został na omówienie uprawień przysługujących zamawiającemu z tytułu wad dzieła budowlanego. Ze względu na znaczny zakres współpracy pomiędzy polskimi i niemieckimi firmami budowlanymi przedstawiona tematyka ma znaczenie nie tylko prawnoporównawcze, ale również praktyczne.
The subject of the article is the liability for defects of construction services under provisions of German civil law. The discussion is focused on solutions adopted by German legislator in the provisions of § 633–635 and § 638 BGB (Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch) and in the VOB/B (Allgemeine Vertragsbedingungen für die Ausführung von Bauleistungen), which latest amendment entered entered into force on 18.04.2016. Particular emphasis was placed on discussing the rights of the orderer for defects in construction works. Due to the significant scope of cooperation between Polish and German construction companies, the presented topics are of not only comparative but also practical legal importance.

We wstępie artykułu określono położenie geograficzne siedziby parafii, jej wielkość i miejsce w strukturach organizacyjnych Kościoła. Analizując protokoły powizytacyjne biskupów chełmskich, przedstawiono wygląd świątyni parafialnej i jej wyposażenie. W miarę możliwości określono wygląd plebanii i zabudowań gospodarczych. Następnie określono beneficjum cerkiewne. W dalszej części zwrócono uwagę na liczbę wiernych i ich duszpasterzy.
The following work depicts the operating of Saint Michael the Archangel Uniate Church in Rogóźno in the first half of the 18th century. The introduction contains the geographical location of the parish, its size and the place in the hierarchy of the Church. Having analyzed the Bishop of Chełm post-visitation protocols both the appearance of the church and church’s endowment is put forth. As far as possible, the appearance of the presbytery and auxiliary buildings has been determined. Then, not only was the church benefice determined but the number of the faithful and the clergy was defined.

Artykuł przedstawia blisko 200-letnie dzieje parafii unickiej p.w. Podwyższenia Świętego Krzyża w Grodysławicach (od końca XVII w. do 1875 r., czyli roku likwidacji unii i tym samym parafii). Na wstępie określono położenie geograficzne parafii, jej wielkość i miejsce w strukturach organizacyjnych Kościoła. Analizując protokoły powizytacyjne biskupów chełmskich oraz wykazy statystyczne, przedstawiono wygląd świątyni parafialnej i kościołów filialnych oraz ich wyposażenie. W miarę możliwości, na ile pozwoliły źródła, ukazany został także wygląd plebanii i budynków ekonomicznych. Następnie określono beneficjum cerkiewne z uwzględnieniem zmian, jakie zachodziły w jego wielkości i jakości. W kolejnej części odtworzono listę związanych z parafią 14 duchownych, wzbogacając ją o podstawowe dane biograficzne poszczególnych kapłanów. W końcowej części określono liczbę wiernych, przedstawiono liczbę parafian przystępujących do sakramentów oraz w miarę możliwości zaprezentowano poziom religijnego uświadomienia wiernych parafii grodysławickiej.
The present paper depicts almost 200-year-old history of the Uniate parish of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Grodysławice (from the end of 17th century until 1875- i.e. the liquidation of the treaty and consequently the parish). The introduction of this paper provides some general information about its geographical location, its size and the place within the Church hierarchical structure. Having analyzed post- visitation protocols left by the Bishops of Chelm as well as statistical reports the look of both the church and branch churches and their accessories is recounted. As far as the available primary sources have made it possible, not only is the look of the vicarage and ancillary buildings presented but also the parish ecclesiastical benefice and its fluctuation in size and quantity throughout its history is determined. Furthermore, the total number of 14 parish priests residing in this particular parish is defined enriched with some biographical information about each and every one of them. The final part determines the number of worshipers as well as the number of Holy Communion receivers, furthermore, as far as possible, the level of religious awareness of Grodyslawice parishioners is presented.

Talenty i uzdolnienia odgrywają istotną rolę w wielu dziedzinach ludzkiej aktywności, lecz rzadko są uwzględniane w analizach ekonomicznych. Istnieją tymczasem liczne badania, wykazujące istotne zróżnicowanie wrodzonych predyspozycji do prowadzenia efektywnej aktywności ekonomicznej. Niektóre wskazują na determinanty genetyczne. Inspiruje to powstawanie nowych dyscyplin naukowych, takich jak genoekonomia czy talent-based economy. Odnotowują one coraz ciekawsze wyniki badań, zasługujące na uwagę.
Human talent and giftedness are a key resources and sources of effective activity in many areas, but they are not often taken into account in economic analysis. Nevertheless, there are many studies showing significant differentiations of innate human inclinations for effective economic activity. Some of them show genetic determinants of such giftedness. This is inspiration for new branches in economy, such as genoeconomy or talent-based economy. Their achievements are more and more interesting and attention worthy.

Liberalism and political polarization The customary classification of the ideological doctri‑ nes in democratic systems, which expanded along a left–right axis, is nowadays obsolescent and has been deconstructed. At the same time, the close and strong connection between de‑ mocracy and liberalism, on which the primary model of liberal democracy was established, has been broken in many places of the world. The emerging of illiberal democracies has made the liberal component the main criterion for the classification of contemporary political systems, instead of dividing them into democratic and nondemocratic systems as before. Numerous ideological options could also be classified as being contrary to the liberal one. Liberalism has thus become important in the typologies and analyses of contemporary political systems and ideological options as the opposite to those systems on many new axes.
