    Opis:
    The paper deals with an unsteady two dimensional laminar slip flow of a viscous incompressible magnetomicropolar fluid past a semi infinite porous plate embedded in a porous medium. The flow is under the influence of a transverse magnetic field and heat source/sink. The free stream velocity follows an exponentially increasing or decreasing small perturbation law. The porous surface absorbs the fluid with time varying suction velocity. Expressions are obtained for velocity and temperature fields, mean angular velocity, skin friction and the Nusselt number.

    Opis:
    Customer impatience has become a threat to the business world. Firms employ various customer retention strategies to retain their impatient (or reneged) customers. Customer retention mechanisms may help to retain some or all impatient customers. Further, due to unsatisfactory service, customers may rejoin a queue immediately after departure. Such cases are referred to as feedback customers. Kumar and Sharma take this situation into account and study an M/M/1/N feedback queuing system with retention of reneged customers. They obtain only a steady-state solution for this model. In this paper, we extend the work of Kumar and Sharma by performing an economic analysis of the model. We develop a model for the costs incurred and perform the appropriate optimization. The optimum system capacity and optimum service rate are obtained.

    Introduction: Shankhpushpi has been widely used in traditional Indian systems of medicine as a brain and memory boosting tonic. There are a variety of botanicals reported to be used as sources of Shankhpushpi in various parts of India. For instance, Canscora decussata Schult, Clitorea ternatea Linn., Convolvulus pluricaulis Choisy. and Evolvulus alsinoides Linn. are most commonly used as sources of Shankhpushpi by practitioners of Ayurveda in different parts of the country. Objective: When it comes to using Shankhpushpi in herbal formulations, qualitative and quantitative analysis of the correct botanicals in the formulation decides its pharmacological effectiveness. Scopoletin and mangiferin are proven bioactive markers identified in Shankhpushpi botanicals in our previous studies. Hence the study is aimed at providing a simple analytical method for the identification of the correct variety of Shankhpushpi using proven markers. Methods: In this study, a High Performance Liquid Chromatographic (HPLC) method has been developed for the estimation of scopoletin and mangiferin levels in four botanicals of Shankhpushpi and their marketed formulations. Result: A simple analytical method was developed which proved to be very crucial in estimating concentrations of mangiferin and scopoletin in various test samples. This method can be used to identify the correct botanicals of Shankhpushpi present in any Ayurvedic formulation or raw material or processed powder by evaluating the content of scopoletin or mangiferin as markers. Conclusion: The developed HPLC method is a quick and reliable method for the quantitative monitoring of mangiferin and scopoletin in herbal extracts and marketed formulations of Shankhpushpi.

    Subject and purpose of work: Based on community-wide charges that shopping malls discriminate against small business tenants, this paper seeks: firstly to identify the principal determinants of shopping mall rentals, and secondly to understand if there exists a statistically significant dispersion in rentals against MSMEs. Materials and methods: Relative Importance Index and SPSS (statistical tests) were used to analyze the survey-based data which was acquired from eleven shopping malls in Lusaka. Results: The MSME tenants pay on average $20.32/m2 more than anchor tenants and $19.12/m2 more than chain stores, ironically on account of capital limitations. MSMEs also face an additional risk during sudden economic shocks due to untenable lease provisions and poor negotiating influence. Conclusions: The study concludes by acknowledging that the MSME sector is covertly vitiated by the imposition of high rental premiums. It recommends that shopping malls should have an affirmative simpler letting policy. Furthermore, a shopping mall association should-be commissioned to exclusively safeguard the interests of MSMEs.

    Opis:
    In the present study, the effect of multiple part-through cracks on the vibration characteristics of thin isotropic rectangular plate is presented. The proposed analytical model is developed using Kirchhoff’s classical plate theory and the crack terms are formulated using the simplified Line Spring Model (LSM). The application of Berger's formulation helps to transform the derived governing equation in the form of well known Duffing equation with cubic nonlinearities and then the solution for final governing equation is obtained using Galerkin's method for two different boundary conditions. The fundamental frequency of the plate as affected by the number of cracks, cracks length, cracks orientation, and plate aspect ratio for different boundary condition is presented. It is found that the results obtained for natural frequencies are maximally affected by number of cracks, crack length and orientations.

    The laser Raman and infrared absorption spectra of 2,4-dichloronitrobenzene have been recorded in pure liquid state. The vibrational spectra have been analysed assuming C$\text{}_{s}$, point group for the molecule. The assignments for fundamental vibrations, combination and overtone frequencies and internal modes of vibrations of NO$\text{}_{2}$ group have been proposed.
