It describes the practical training of students in Singapore, compares it with the practical training of Slovak students, and offers incentives for innovation in the current education system.

Opis:
Being able to understand the diversity of pupils in teaching brings many opportunities to establish various innovations in order to achieve more efficient results of education. One of the current trends in education is supportive inclusive education that is based on respecting the diversity of pupils. This contribution understands inclusive education as a way of implementing the educational process that suits the developmental needs of all pupils. Based on this understanding it identifies factors that influence the performance of pupils coming from socially disadvantaged background and it describes implications relating to confidence, attitudes and motivation of these pupils to learn. Within stimulation of the developmental needs of socially disadvantaged pupils we analyse the possibility to create attractive educative environment by the means of cooperative learning.

In the given article we analyze the personality and the pedagogical contribution of Alasdair MacIntyre, who can be counted among leading philosophers of the 20th century. The important part of Alasdair MacIntyre ́s thinking from the point of view of virtue development is the search leading to a good life, which in his theory is inevitably connected with the narrative dimension. Education to virtues is thus becoming inevitable for a child to be once able to recognize what helps to build a good life.

Education influenced and continues to affect human understanding. Adopted the concept of education determines the character and re-education affects not only the concept itself, but also society as a whole. The beginnings of education are found in ancient human cultures. Education is a phenomenon that is recorded in the history of world and European thinking constantly change and takes on different forms and shape, pointing to the dynamism and diversity education. Social values are the basic characteristics of all social groups. Are evaluating the expression of fact. Shaped by the life course of action of many factors: environmental factors, upbringing and personality alone. In doing so, therefore, the choice is determined by human values education and social influence. In accordance with these influences, each person, company, social group creates its own general and specific value systems and codes.

This study is based on an unauthorized translation of Diagnostic Guide for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders: The 4-Digit Diagnostic Code, Third Edition, 2004 written by Susan J. Astley, Professor of Epidemiology. The research further includes additional scholarly sources, studies conducted by authors of this article as well as their own research in Centre for Diagnostics, Therapy and Prevention of FAS. Our purpose was to explore selected correlations between executive functions and writing and reading tests in selected target groups (elementary school students between the age of 9 and 11). The research project partially corresponds to diagnostics criteria for selected domains “executive functions” and “learning disabilities” in the original Guide - The 4-Digit Diagnostic Code. An outcome of this study, which was conducted within the project Context of Selected Diagnoses in Students with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Spectrum and Students’ Inclusion in Selected Daycares and Elementary Schools, reveals positive correlations between selected domains and a significance in FASD prevention within Slovakia.

Prenatal exposure of a child to alcohol may cause Fetal Alcohol Syndrome or Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FAS/FASD). As a result, the affected child may exhibit lower intellect, neurosensory disorders, hyperactivity, executive functions disorder, abstract thinking and behaviour disorders combined with growth disorders and facial dysmorphia. In addition, undiagnosed and untreated children may suffer from serious secondary and tertiary disabilities. The aim of this paper is to provide a research overview of practical information about FAS/FASD syndrome, a presentation of the 4-Digit Diagnostic Code method and a sample of the research results by the first Centre of Diagnosis, Treatment and Prevention of FAS in Slovakia.

Opis:
Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder is an overarching term that describes the extent of effects of prenatal alcohol exposure. It includes the range of neurodevelopmental findings and other medical findings specific for FAS. Measurability of characteristics depends on several factors, such as diagnostic instruments, multidisciplinary focus, etc. The objective of the contribution is to provide the primary early care givers with recommendations for FASD screening. It involves suggestions that deal with recognition, protection and intervention of children with FASD in the most elaborate and unbiased manner. Results of the study offer selective intention of screening in preschool-aged children. The research was conducted with 173 children aged from 3 to 7 years. The authors used their own concept of selected domains indicating the occurrence of impairments in FASD domains. Specific quantitative and qualitative research methods were assigned to them. The impairments relate to anthropometric deviations determining early occurrence of FASD. The authors have selected the domain of basic anthropometry: head circumference, height and weight and philtrum and the obtained results from domains: auditory processing, selected cognitive components, motor system, speech and sensory processing. Conclusions define basic criteria for FASD screening in general population and basic algorithm of distribution of recognized child in a system of early care in the SR. They rely on the fact that there is urgent demand in Slovakia to involve participants in active FASD care.

The study deals with sexting as a risk behaviour of pupils in elementary and secondary schools. The aim of the research was to analyse the preventive activities at schools, with special regard to prevention of sexting. The results showed that an insufficient attention is paid to the sexting issues when planning the preventive activities.
