Opis:
The traditional division of the voice of verb into activum, medium and passivum, as created by the ancient grammarians, above all by Dionysius the Thracean, already in the ancient times aroused many doubts and comments. The author of the commentary to the Thracean grammar preserved in Scholia Vaticana has broadened his classification of diatheses. To the basic three, i.e. to the diathesis of action, experience and mediate, he added the neutral and common ones. Other grammarians, especially Latin, supplemented this classification by additional genera verborum. They listed as many as nine of them. This multiplication of diatheses and terminological confusion were born due to imprecise criteria, according to which the above divisions were made. To oscillate between, on the one hand, the morphological criterium and, on the other, the semantic one, as well as attempts to agree the two criteria bore fruit by the introduction of successive divisions. As a result, the semantic criterium became dominant among the Greek grammarians. On the basis of this criterium they selected only two diatheses at the higher level: ἐνέργεια and πάϑος. In detailed analyses the number of diatheses was enlarged. The ancient grammarians did not unanimously speak for one of the criteria of division, neither they worked out completely a uniform terminology. The names genus and significatio introduced by Romans also failed to decide the terminological problems connected with the category of voice.

Opis:
The present article discusses the etiologies occurring in Theseus by Plutarch of Cheronea that are connected with the Greek religion and mythology. The history of the protagonist's life opening the whole series of Parallel lives is set in the times which we place outside the period accessible to historical study. This allowed Plutarch to enrich the description of the protagonist's vicissitudes with a number of etiological insertions referring mainly to Greek feasts and celebrations and to explain their origin by facts and events. Presenting Theseus' life Plutarch mentions more or less well-known religious celebrations, cults and festivities. Starting with the cult of Konnidas, through Hecalesia, Thesmophoria and Delphinia we pass on to the celebrations that, according to Plutarch, have their source in the ancient mythical custom of sending boys and girls froms Athens to Crete and are connected with the motif of abduction of Ariadna by Theseus, and then the hero's triumphant return to Athens. The successive feasts are connected with consolidation of Theseus' power in Athens: the Isthmian Games, Theseia, Synoikia − are the crowning of the unification of the whole Attica. Where the description of a certain cult or festivity was treated by Plutarch in an incomplete or fragmentary way supplements and additional explanations have been supplied.

Opis:
As a result of a buried water pipe unsealing, water often flows from the pipe to the soil surface, washing out the solid particles of soil and creating the so-called suffosion holes. It is a dangerous phenomenon, especially in urbanized areas, where it poses a threat to human safety and the stability of infrastructure. Uncontrolled outflows of water from water pipes belong to the main causes of suffosion in cities, occur in all water networks around the world and are difficult to predict. Therefore, it seems to be important to determine the size of the so-called the protection zone, which is the area around the potential leak where, in the event of a water pipe failure, it would be possible for water to flow in the soil. The analysis of the suffosion holes distribution around the place of leakage may be helpful in determining the size of the protection zone. Previous studies have shown that this distribution is random. Thus, the structure consisting of suffusion holes creates a certain geometric shape, which is difficult to describe using the classical concepts of Euclidean geometry. The study showed that this structure meets the conditions for probabilistic fractals, which means that elements of fractal geometry can be used to determine the size of the protection zone.

Opis:
Abstract: Regional and local political systems. Part II The systemic diversity of the regions and local units can be subsumed to three possible forms of political systems: 1) self‑government, 2) territorial autonomy and 3) the federal state. Based upon that criterion, modern democratic states can be divided into: 1) unitary states with self‑government, 2) unitary states with territorial autonomy and self‑government, 3) federal states with self‑government, 4) federal states with territorial autonomy and self‑government. That division clearly points to the fact, that unitary and federal states can successfully exhibit the same types of political systems on the regional and local levels: territorial autonomy and self‑government. In consequence, both federal and unitary states, under this particular respect, do not exhibit differences. The systems present in the unit‑parts of a federation (regardless of their designation: republics, states, lands, cantons or provinces) in themselves are not a separate category and form of the political system, but form together with others, the three subcentral legal‑political systems present in democratic states. However, the understanding of federalism as concept referring to something more than the legal‑political system of a given state (or even the political system sensu stricto) might seems unconvincing, but still in the consideration of federalism one needs to step away from the analysis of existing federal states (however, comparative constitutional law and constitutional practice must have fundamental impact) and create the prognoses of systemic solutions in a group of highly decentralized unitary states. Besides that, the research of the political theory of federalism and federation presents itself as not without merit to the undertaken task.Key words: federalism, territorial autonomy, regional political system, decentralism

Opis:
Abstract: Regional and local political system Considerations on political systems on a regional and local level are tightly connected with decentralization processes of political systems. Contemporary state structures have become dysfunctional in many cases in relation to developmental challenges of societies. After the period of excessive centralization, finished with a deep crisis, strong and deep decentralization processes, the result of which was giving a harmonious power division back happened several dozen years ago. A well-known division of political systems according to system (constitutional) criteria that was formed years ago and took into account above all the relationship between a legislative power, the government and the head of state, that is, between the legislative and the executive level can be extended by a classification of political systems on a regional and local level nowadays. The main criterion of typology can be the relations (competence scope) between central (general) and regional as well as local authorities. The proposed division of system forms of democratic countries would be the following: 1. Unitary countries with a self-government system, 2. Unitary countries with a territory autonomy and self-government, 3. Federal countries with a self-government system, and 4. Federal countries with a territory autonomy and self-government.Key words: self-government system, regionalism, localism
