- Last year in October the finale of "Złota Nitka" 2018, the oldest and most prestigious contest for young designers in Poland, took place. After a long break it was the second edition of the event organised by the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź (as part of the event Łódź Young Fashion). The organization of the contest has become an excellent experimental field for the Academy and its students, especially those from the Department of Fashion Design. Watching the contest and observing closely the preparations for the final gala in 2017 encouraged young designers to participate in the 2018 edition. As a result, six out of the fifteen finalists of the last year's edition of "Złota Nitka" (Olena Didora, Nicole Dylewicz, Joanna Małecka, Patrycja Bryszewska, Katarzyna Romańska and Adrian Krupa) are students or graduates of the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. The school's success is all the greater because the winner of the contest was the last of the aforementioned – Adrian Krupa. Not only did his collection entitled "FETISH" deserve the recognition of the jury, but it also won the highest prize among the national competitions: 30,000 zlotys.
