Opis:
We have provided the Cu doped zinc sulfide (ZnS:Cu) nanoparticles using a wet chemical synthesis. In principle, the nanoparticles are provided by mixing the reactants in a double distilled water solvent. We have used the mercaptopropionic acid as the capping agent. We have obtained the physical properties of the nanoparticles using the methods: UV absorption, photoluminescence spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction analysis. The average size of nanoparticles is obtained in the range 3-6 nm. In addition, the X-ray diffraction pattern of ZnS:Cu nanoparticles reveals a zinc-blende crystal structure at room temperature.

Opis:
Cu and Fe doped cadmium sulfide nanoparticles with controllable and relatively narrow size distribution were prepared using a facile and efficient wet chemical route by mixing the reactants in water solvent. It was found that the mixture pH plays an active role in the growth procedure of nanoparticles. Diverse physical properties of the prepared nanoparticles were investigated using UV-vis absorption, photoluminescence spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The average particle size of samples was estimated to be about 5 nm by using transmission electron microscopy measurement. The pH optimization study implies that $pH ≈7$ would yield an enhancement in photoluminescence intensity. There are two bands in photoluminescence spectra which related to deep and shallow traps.

Opis:
Introduction. The main purpose of this study was to investigate the respiratory effects of exposure to high airborne concentrations of wheat flour dust. Methods. This cross-sectional study was carried out at a local wheat flour mill in Shiraz, southern Iran. Thirty-five male workers exposed to flour dust and 32 healthy male nonexposed employees were investigated. The prevalence of respiratory symptoms among them was evaluated and parameters of their pulmonary function were measured. Moreover, to assess the extent to which subjects were exposed to flour dust, airborne concentrations of its inhalable and respirable fractions were measured.Results. Airborne concentrations of dust exceeded current permissible level. The prevalence of regular cough, productive cough, wheezing, phlegm and dyspnea was significantly higher in exposed subjects than in nonexposed employees. Similarly, both acute and chronic significant (p < .05) decrements in most parameters of pulmonary function were noted. Conclusions. Our findings provide corroborative evidence to further support the notion that exposure to flour dust is associated with a significant increase in the prevalence of respiratory symptoms as well as ventilator disorders of the lungs.
