Opis:
Traditional markets in Malang Regency are divided into four classes with particular classifications. The traditional market solid waste research aims to show the environmental impact of solid waste management efforts using life cycle assessment (LCA) and selected scenarios to reduce solid waste sustainably. The planned management follows four scenarios: Scenario 0 represents the baseline scenario. Scenario 1 assumes that non-composted solid waste recycling is carried out. Scenario 2 assumes that composting takes place. Finally, Scenario 3 assumes that non-composted solid waste recycling and composting are integrative ely carried out by building a reduced reuse recycle solid waste treatment facility (TPS 3R) near the market. The environmental impact analysis was carried out with various impact categories (carcinogens, respiratory organics, respiratory inorganics, climate change, radiation, ozone layer, ecotoxicity, acidification/eutrophication, land use, minerals, and fossil fuels). The results show that the smallest environmental impact is in Scenario 3 in most classes, namely the scenario where non-composted solid waste was integrative ely recycled and composted.

The presented study aims at increasing positive attitude of students as good citizens through the integration of character education in social studies with CTL approach. This research was classroom action research and the subjects of this research were 38 fifth-grade pupils of Elementary School SD Negeri 07 Panreng Sinjai. The study involved collaborators that were fifth-grade teachers who acted as the implementing action. Data were obtained through a test scale of attitude as the main data and supporting data were collected through observation and self-report. The research showed some findings. First, the integration of character education in teaching social studies is conducted by instilling the values of character education in learning with the social studies content and applying some of the components in the CTL. Second, there is continuous improvement of the integration of character education in social studies with the CTL approach from the first cycle to the third cycle. Based on the results of attitude tests on the citizenship subject in the first cycle, there was no student classified as very positive (0%), 44.73% of students were classified as positive, 39.47% negative, and 15.76% very negative. In the second cycle, there were 23.68% of students classified as very positive, 44.73% positive, 26.31% negative, and 5.26% very negative. In the third cycle, there were 18.42% of students classified as very positive, 78.94% positive, 2.63% negative and 0% very negative. Thus, the integrated character education in social studies can improve the attitude of a good citizen in fifth-grade pupils of SD Negeri 07 Panreng Sinjai.

Opis:
Gas turbine for a power plant has 72 pieces of cone burner in its combustion chamber. High-speed diesel oil (HSD) is use as fuel to produce 130 MW of power at 3,000 rpm. The maximum temperature at the turbine inlet is estimated about 1087 centigrade and at the outlet is between 400-540oC. Sixty percent of the cone burner failed repetitively at one side of the tip-end after 6,000 hours of service. The refurbished cone burner has to be replaced by a new one after 18,000 of service-hours. The cone burner material is cast Hastelloy-X (nickel based alloys). Metallurgical analyses by microstructural observation using optical and scanning electron microscopes, and energy dispersive spectroscope have been performed to observe the change in burner microstructure. Thermodynamics analysis has been performed to obtain temperature distribution around the failed section. Two failed cone burners have been examined; cone burner that has not been repaired, and that has been repaired twice. Thermodynamics analysis result shown that the temperature around the failed section is between 897 to 1087 centigrade. Microstructure of the good part, far from the failed section, consists of cast structure of austenite matrix and fine carbide particles. Severe carbide precipitation and growth was observed on the failed section even the nominal carbon content in material is only 0.10 percent (max.). Severe carbide precipitation occurred because of carbon ingress from the environment (carburization) which combines with carbide forming elements in material (chromium, molybdenum, and tungsten). As a result, the corrosion and oxidation resistance of material decreased significantly after long time exposure at high temperature that led to oxidation, thinning, and failure of the cone burner tip. Failure only localized on one side of the tip-edge, therefore refurbishment by welding and coating can be performed to extend the life cycle of cone burner. The current examination results shows that the replacement cycle is not only limited to 18,000 hours but can also be extended to 48,000 hours.

Opis:
Fatigue and sleepiness are two major factors that have been reported to contribute to road crash and accidents in Indonesia. Fatigue among commercial drivers is probably a common phenomenon, particularly during long-duration driving. This study aimed at characterizing fatigue and sleepiness during long-duration driving. Nine commercial drivers were recruited in this field study and were requested to drive a multipurpose vehicle for three trips back and forth between two major cities. Each trip was completed within 4 hours, with about 3 to 3.5 hours of continuous driving (and 0.5 to 1 hour of rest). Fatigue was assessed by utilizing the Psychomotor Vigilance Task (PVT), which was administered for 5 minutes immediately following the completion of each trip. A video camera was employed to capture blink frequency, and for each trip, this measure was determined during 5 minutes after two hours of driving. Subjective ratings were also collected during the task and included the Swedish Occupational Fatigue Inventory (SOFI) and the Karolinska Sleepiness Scale (KSS). The results of this study demonstrated a consistent increase in the blink rate and subjective measures of fatigue. A significant association was also found between the blink rate and SOFI measures, indicating an association between those objective and subjective measures. Although not statistically significant, there were also changes in PVT parameters associated with driving duration. However, no significant association was found between PVT parameters and the subjective measures. This study found that a minimum of six hours of intermittent driving was adequate in inducing fatigue and sleepiness, despite the seemingly sufficient amount of rest break. Based on the findings of this study, it is suggested that long-duration driving be limited to a maximum of 12 hours, and that a minimum of 30 minutes of rest be provided after 3 to 4 hours of driving. This finding should be used as a basis for scheduling drivers and for finding the appropriate intervention strategy for mitigating fatigue and sleepiness risks during prolonged driving tasks.
