    Opis:
    In morphological studies the shape may be conveniently quantified by relative dimensions or dimensionless quantities. The analyses of shell morphology and morphospace occupation have been historically approached mainly by means of statistical analysis on classical dimensions (distance measurements: diameter, umbilical width, whorl width, whorl height and apertural whorl height), the Raup’s coiling and expansion rate parameters and, more recently, by means of the ADA−model which conjugates the classical variables in a single simple equation. Relationships between these studies should be possible based on mathematical equivalences between classical dimensions and those of coiling and expansion rates. These equivalences, which are presented in this paper, have been obtained on the basis of the ADA−model and a new general method for deriving dimensionless models of morphology based on exponential trajectories as a function of a rotational angle.

    Opis:
    The article deals with the tax on motor vehicles in relation to the different principles of taxation of trucks in selected EU countries. There is a system of taxation in each EU country and the level of taxes and fees itself vary. As carriers carrying out road freight not only on closed national markets, but they are engaged in road transport on a common international market, it is important for the competitiveness to analyze the level of the use of transport by tax in foreign countries. The goal of article is to compare tax rates, regarding the particular semi-trailer and also point to significant differences concerning the principles of taxation but also the level of the tax rate itself in selected EU countries.

    We report on the discovery of large cephalopod arm hooks (mega−onychites) from the Kimmeridgian and Volgian of Spitsbergen (Agardhfjellet Formation). This includes a largely uncompressed hook in a seep carbonate, with preservation of surface sculpture. We suggest the use of logarithmic spirals as morphological descriptors for the outer part of cephalopod arm hooks, with implications for systematics and functional morphology. Comparison with Upper Jurassic material from Greenland, northern Norway and the North Sea demonstrates a remarkably consistent morphology, which we assign to the same form species, Onychites quenstedti. Considering the relatively small stratigraphic (Kimmeridgian–Volgian) and biogeographic (Boreal) range of this large form, it is likely that it represents a single biological species or genus.
