Opis:
Many nonlinear dynamical systems can present a challenge for the stability analysis in particular the estimation of the region of attraction of an equilibrium point. The usual methodis based on Lyapunov techniques. For the validity of the analysis it should be supposed that the initial conditions lie in the domain of attraction. In this paper, we investigate such problem for a class of dynamical systems where the origin is not necessarily an equilibrium point. In this case, a small compact neighborhood of the origin can be estimated as an attractor for the system. We give a method to estimate the basin of attraction based on the construction of a suitable Lyapunov function. Furthermore, an application to Lorenz system is given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Opis:
In this paper, we study the observer design problem for a class of nonlinear systems. Specifically, we design an exponential observer for a separately excited DC motor. Moreover, a stabilizing controller is designed for the system to ensure the exponential stability of the solutions toward their desired values. Simulations results show that proposed observer is able to reconstruct the states of the system. In addition, the simulation results indicate that the designed controller works well.

Opis:
In this paper, we investigate the global uniform practical exponential stability for a class of uncertain Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy systems. The uncertainties are supposed uniformly to be bounded by some known integrable functions to obtain an exponential convergence toward a neighborhood of the origin. Therefore, we use common quadratic Lyapunov function (CQLF) and parallel distributed compensation (PDC) controller techniques to show the global uniform practical exponential stability of the closed-loop system. Numeric simulations are given to validate the proposed approach.

Opis:
An important application of state estimation is feedback control: an estimate of the state (typically the mean estimate) is used as input to a state-feedback controller. This scheme is known as observer based control, and it is a common way of designing an output-feedback controller (i. e. a controller that does not have access to perfect state measurements). In this paper, under the fact that both the estimator dynamics and the state feedback dynamics are stable we propose a separation principle for Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy control systems with Lipschitz nonlinearities. The considered nonlinearities are Lipschitz or meets an integrability condition which have no influence on the LMI to prove the stability of the associated closed-loop system. Furthermore, we give an example to ullistrate the applicability of the main result.

Opis:
Introduction: Solanum sodomaeum L. has been observed to have several medicinal properties, in particular, in the treatment of several types of human skin cancer. Objective: The influence of the maturation stage of S. sodomaeum fruits on the total lipid contents, fatty acid profiles, essential oil yields and compositions, as well as the antibacterial and antioxidant activities of the essential oils, was investigated. Methods: The fatty acid and essential oil constituents were identified using gas chromatography (GC) and GC–mass spectrometry (GC–MS). The antioxidant properties of essential oil and vegetal oil were assessed using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazyl (DPPH) scavenging and reducing power assays. The antibacterial ac-tivity of essential oil was tested using the disc diffusion assay for resistance in human pathogenic bacteria. Results: Mature fruits showed higher total lipid content (17%) and were characterised by polyunsaturated fatty acids (53.87%), represented mainly by linoleic acid (53.11%). Similar yields of essential oils were detected for immature (0.43%) and mature (0.45%) fruits. Tetrahydronaphthalene (41.79%) was detected as the major essential oil component at the immature stage versus dihydrocoumarin pentane (18.27%), hexadecanoic acid (17.43%) and 2-undecanone (13.20%) in mature fruits. The DPPH test showed that essential oils had better antioxidant properties; however, the vegetal oils showed better performance in the reducing power assay. Moreover, the essential oil of S. sodomaeum mature fruits was active against bacterial strains. Conclusions: S. sodomaeum fruits could be a valuable source of natural antioxidants and antibacterial agents.

Opis:
Morphometric characters of the white seabream Diplodus sargus (Linnaeus 1758) were compared among samples collected from six marine and lagoon sites along the Tunisian coast to elucidate the impact of the geographical barrier of the Siculo-Tunisian Strait and/or the lagoon environment in the morphological variation among the Tunisian white seabream population. Two morphometric descriptors (twenty-five Truss elements and six traditional measurements) were used to study the pattern of this morphological variation. Univariate analysis of variance revealed significant differences (P < 0.001) for both traditional and Truss variables. Multivariate analysis using the two morphometric descriptors detected a clear variation in the body shape between D. sargus populations along the Tunisian coast. All these analyses showed the distinctness of the sample from El Biban lagoon compared to the remaining ones. This discrimination was due to the head and the peduncle of the studied fish. Varying degrees of differences were also observed between northern and southern samples, and between the lagoon and the marine samples. The morphologi- cal variations of the head explain also the discrimination between the different lagoons samples. Observed morphological heterogeneity seems to be related to the impact of ecological factors.

In order to characterize the dynamic behaviour of a back-to-back planetary gear, experimental and numerical modal analysis techniques are achieved. Rotational and translational modal deflections are highlighted. Natural frequencies are compared to the results from the lumped-parameter model. The modes are presented in the numerical studies in low-frequency and high-frequency bands. Distributions of modal kinetic and strain energies are studied.
