Opis:
In recent years research have shown a significant decrease in physical activity (PA) among young population. Increasingly carried out diagnosis of physical activity at different stages of our lives, with particular regard to children and adolescents indicates that with age, level of physical activity, especially in leisure time is reduced. The purpose of the research is to compare the selected parameters of physical activity during one day among students aged 6-8 years old. The study was conducted with use of the accelerometer ActiGraph WGT3X on group of 54 children (30 - school and 24 - kindergarten). Analysis shows that for such parameters as MET's, Vigorous, Total MVPA and Steps Counts one observed difference between the stay at school and sometimes school has statistical significance (p < 0,05). On the basis of the studies carried out it is shown that the school environment helps to increase physical activity among children in school and the fact is that these children are more active.

Opis:
The emergence of digital technologies, including computers, smartphones, games consoles etc., has significantly changed the way children spend their free time. Playing with peers, outdoor movement, are often replaced by hours of using IT equipment, which became children’s possession along with the development of modern technology. This article deals with the issue of spending free time by children aged 7–17, and in particular the types of activities they undertake, from the point of view of their parents. The cited research results are an extension of analyzes performed using the WGT3X-BT accelerometer on a group of 108 children carried out in 2017 at the School Complex in Zarzecze im. Jana Pawła II (Subcarpathian Voivodeship).

Opis:
Physical activity should play an important role at every age and on every stage of human life. It affects health, well-being and the quality of life. The authors of the paper have shown the use of accelerometer as a device for testing physical activity. They used a group of runners, who during a promoting project of physical activity called “Cooper Test for all”, applied accelerometer ActiGraph WGT3X. It was placed on the person’s waist. The use of accelerometer valuably complements the survey methods aimed at physical activity levels.

Opis:
Horse riding is a satisfying and exciting sport and recreation activity. However, it is not without risk. A large percentage of riders experience accidents of varying degrees of severity during their professional and recreational careers. Any injury, even one that appears to be harmless, may turn out to be serious and exclude a competitor from sport for a long period of time. The purpose of the following research was to analyse the presence and incidence of contusions and injuries among novice and professional riders. The material for this study was collected using a research questionnaire conducted on a group of 1973 people. Participants were chosen at random and belonged to an equestrian community from different age groups. The research was carried out all over Poland. Equestrianism is definitely an injurious physical activity, which is confirmed by the answer of 75% of respondents who consider this sport to have been harmful and have suffered an injury related to horse riding. Most respondents suffered hand contusions (45.5%), concussion (25.4%) and hand fractures (16.4%). The strength of the study was the number of respondents (1973) and feedback on, among others, various types of injuries. These injuries can be easily avoided due to increased knowledge, practice, and education.

Opis:
Introduction. Organized physical activity (PA) is among factors that significantly influence the amount of realized PA. Aim. The aim of this study was to collect and analyze of the influence of BMI on the number of steps among women while undergoing obligatory sport camp as part of physical education studies and during study time at university. Materials and methods. The studies included women (n=60) ranging from 19 to 25 years of age. Their weekly physical activity was monitored using an accelerometer ActiGraph. The significance of the differences between the results for two consecutive measurements are pointed out among the same people, but under different conditions there was assessed at-student test for the variables. Compliance of measurement was described using testing and Bland-Altman chart. For the level of statistical significance p < 0.05 was adopted. Results. The requirements of the WHO on the minimum physical activity were met by almost all students. There is a lack of presence of a statistically significant relationship between BMI and the number of student steps, both in the case of measurement during study time (R = -0.03; p = 0.815) and at camp (R =-0.02; p = 0.865). Conclusions. Women are characterized by high activity (number of steps). BMI does not affect the number of steps for studies. Students meet the requirements of WHO (10000 steps).

Opis:
Introduction. Research results indicate that a low level of physical fitness is associated with a high percentage of fat in the body and low levels of physical activity. The aim of this work was to assess the relationships between selected morphological indicators, and the level of aerobic capacity in adolescents attending the schools with team sports. Material and methods. The studies covered students participating in sports in middle school and high school; the study group included 90 boys aged 13-19 years. Body height and weight were measured as well as waist and hip circumference. Body weight components were assessed by using a Tanita Body Composition Analyzer. A Fitnessgram® test battery was used to assess physical fitness. Results. Research results indicates systematic increase of somatic characteristics such as weight, body height and waist and hips circuits with age. Taking into account the results obtained with the PACER test indicate a very good aerobic capacity of tested boys. Conclusions. Age is a factor that improves motor fitness of physically active adolescents. There is no linear relationship between BMI and fitness among the boys who regularly train team sports, but both lower and higher BMI values seem to be connected with lower physical fitness
