Opis:
The author briefly presents the Polish education in Sweden after the World War II with reference to the policy of the Kingdom toward immigrants. It was in 1975 that the Swedish Parliament passed new principles of the imigrant policy: equality of the immigrants and the Swedes; free choice of a cultural pattern; cooperation and solidarity between the Swedish society and particular ethnic groups. Moreover, special donations are guaranteed for national immigrant organizations. The above reforms also concern the problems of immigrant education in native languages. The author estimates the number of Poles in Sweden at about 30 thousand. Children consitute 30% out of the. total. The main teaching centres are as follows: Sztokholm, Malmo, Geteborg, Norrkoping, Lund. They are also the biggest Polish immigrant centres. Every whose at least one parent is an immigrant has a right to be taught its mother tongue in a Swedish school. At present there are about 150 teachers of Polish employed in Swedish schools.

Opis:
The author distinguishes economic, cultural, psycho-social, political and religious integration. Then, he follows the process of integration of the Polish immigrants in the above spheres of social life. He bases his conclusions on sociological polls. Integration started with the participation in the economic life of the country of settlement; it occurred to be the most difficult to be achieved in religion. Besides, the author observes the greatest cultural differences between the Poles and the Swedish although the Swedish legislation happens to be highly conducive to the process of integration.

Opis:
The author states that a typical trait of the present Polish emigration is that it makes a profile of the whole society as far as its social, professional, demographic, and territorial aspect is concerned. Its greater part, however, consists of young people or middle-aged persons. In the period of 1971 to 1988 there left Poland ca 75,000 thousand people and went to West Germany. Polish emigration has acquired now a mass character and in some regions (Opolean Silesia) of the country the demographic and social-professional structure has been shaken. The opinions about Poles in different western countries ere shaped by the so-called tourists. They make the greatest part of emigrants who go abroad for a short time and very often stay there longer to earn money. Their existence is often uncertain when it comes to the right to stay in the given country, job, flat, the knowledge of the language, contact with their country, so they are subject to very serious stresses. Those stresses are increased by the fact that these people usually change their system of values on which their hitherto life was based. Quite naturally, financial problems are the most important here. Those people who live in transition camps waiting for the departure to other countries have to cope with an extremely difficult situation. The young generation of emigrants is, at first, fascinated by their own cars, but then they feel lonely, alienated and very often professionaly degraded. It is a difficult problem to decide whether they should return or stay abroad. Young families adapt themselves and settle abroad easier than single persons.

Opis:
In general, mixed marriages among persons of Polish origin who came to France to earn their living in the interwar period are lasting. Divorces were very rare. Emigration from Poland in the 60s and 70s which constituted mostly the educated people who contracted fictitious mixed marriages in order to legalize as soon as possible their stay abroad. Engineers, architects, doctors, different scholars contracted marriages with a person who had much lower education and they divorced soon afterwards. The strangth of emotional tie between partners, common sense reason and the spirit of toleration and ecumenism among denominations decide for the indissolubility of marriages. One has to take into account the opinion of environment. The countries which consist of various national and denominational groups create a healthier atmosphere for mixed marriages. Very often parents do not want to accept their son-in-law or daughter-in-law who come from a different national or denominational group, especially the persons whose skin is of a different colour. Fictitious marriages and mixed marriages which are contracted hastily result, generally speaking, in bitter consequences, especially when children are born. Nationally and denominationally mixed marriages have many problems, as for example the problem of using a language at home. They have also problems with giving names to their children. Sometimes parents give two names which are used in both countries of their origin. How to spend a holiday is often a dilemma. Apart from that the hierarchy of values and cultural heritage have their influence on the indissolubility of mixed marriages. As the difference among particular countries is being blurred, and the mobility of people becomes greater, mixed marriages will take place more often. One has to make the youth more aware of the moral and social-cultural problems which are connected with it, as far as nationality and culture is concerned.

Opis:
The article is part of the doctor's thesis La communauté polonaise en France de 1919 à 1975 Problèmes de l'intégration des trois générations written in 1977 at the Sorbonne. It is based on sociological research carried on at intervals in the years 1969-1975, to which 600 persons were subjected. They came from three generations (emigrants, their children and grandchildren) representing various social-professional groups in the biggest Polish agglomerations in France. The integration processes of Poles and persons of Polish descent with the French society are presented in the economic, psycho-social, cultural political and religious fields. The present article only discusses the religious integration. The introduction to the article gives the definition of the religious integration. Then polish ministration establishments and centers of religious life in France, taking into consideration their legal situation during the period since the end of World War II to recent years, are presented. At present there are over 80 Polish ministration establishments subordinated to the Polish Catholic Mission in Paris. Next the article discusses those Polish Catholic organizations, which are closely connected with the ministration establishments. In recent years some organizations, both religious and social-cultural, have been undergoing a serious crisis. A considerable amount of space is devoted to the religiousness of the three generations of the Polish community in France. The Polish emigrants in France are homogeneous with respect to religion. There are no significant differences in the frequency of religious practices in the inter-generation section. About one-third of all the subjects are regularly practicing Catholics; similarly, one-third perform the religious practices not regularly, and over 20% have declared that they are not practicing Catholics at all. More than 60% participate in Polish services and religious celebrations. According to the data from the Polish Catholic Mission's inquiry, in the 60-ies Polish priests had permanent or frequent contacts with 250 000 Poles and persons of Polish descent. The older emigrants usually participate in Polish services. However, their children and grandchildren have adopted many French religious customs, among others, more frequent going to communion. Polish immigrants have brought a lot of spiritual values to the French society and by their affiliation to Polish ministration establishment they have enriched the French local Church in the religious respect, and at the same time they have adopted a lot of religious contents from the French Church, and hence a considerable process of integration, understood as a mutual exchange of values, has taken place.
