- Opis:
- THE BUDDHIST LAW OF KARMA IN THE TIBETAN TRADITIONThe author of the article reviews the most important aspects of the law of karma as it operates in Tibetan Buddhism. This universal law of moral causality is to explain the incidence and mechanism of events as well as mental states by presenting them as consequences of concrete physical, verbal and mental acts carried out in the past. Moreover, in the normative aspect, it points out to the link between the present actions and future experiences. According to the above law, no suffering or man’s well-being may emerge without cause; a consequence reaches only the person who has created a cause; besides, no action remains without consequences. The implications of the above law can be traced to the Buddhist cosmological and ethical views while extricating oneself from its dominion and the constraint of regeneration constitutes one of the aspects of the Buddhist Soteria (sacrifice).
